What can you hear?

I'm laying in bed pretending to have a nap. I can hear dh downstairs with my 2 DS doing some sort of science activity. Ds2 got it for his birthday. It's lovely to hear them enjoy an activity together as things are far from harmonious here lately (Dh with a medical issue and waiting treatment and ds1 beginning the autism assessment process).

Those three are warming my heart right now

Tv on in the kitchen

Some birds singing outside (lockdown positive, we never had so many birds in the garden before the last year).

Otherwise quiet

DH rustling the Sunday paper

Me eating crisps

Animal crossing sounds from the tv
Shower running
Kettle boiling

TV on in the room I am in (DC watching)
Neighbour outside pressure-washing their driveway
Sparrows & starlings in the garden

One dog snoring and the other eating.
My neighbour doing something outside that involves power tools and DH upstairs searching for his woolly hat!

The chain saw my husband is using outside snd the crackling of the fire inside.

Someone screaming next door - it sounds like an adult. Not sure whether to be concerned....

Also, next door's (grand)children. They sound like they're playing, which possibly explains the screaming. Now they're all yelling and screaming!

A very loud clock behind me.

My own fingers typing.

Update: they're playing hide-and-seek. I can hear one of them counting

Bird song, the woodburner as it heats up and I can hear the background hum of the baby's bubble tube over the baby monitor as he is napping.

Washing machine doing its thing, the hamster having a little dig/scrabble about his cage, ds munching some bacon on toast and him and dp playing a puzzle game together on Ds's Switch.

Husband is badly singing Meatloaf's 'I would do anything for love' in the kitchen while he gets my jeans out of the dryer for me, DS is yelling to his mates on Fortnite because he can't hear how loud he is when using his headset, and DD(14) and DD(11) are laughing at something in their room because they are siblings that actually get along.

Weird. I had a sister and that was definitely not my experience
