Ideas please for a concert at home.

Another lockdown, another lockdown birthday coming up so I have an idea.

I'm going to do a Lady Gaga concert at home.

So far I have - lady gaga merchandise and I'm going to do a stand for dd to get it (rather than wrapping it up). Fake tickets printed and a hi vis vest (older dc going to take her for a walk and I'll be 'security' on our door when she gets back). Concession stand serving burgers and hot dogs, fizzy drinks in the proper cups with lids and straws, and all sorts of sweets and crisps. Smoke machine and disco lights. I have a projector and will play the concert on there with the surround sound.

I'll clear everything bar the lights and smoke machine out the living room so there's room to dance and make it feel concert-y.

I wanted to possibly get a bunch of faces printed off and stick them up as a 'crowd' but it would cost the earth in ink and I cant think of another way to do it.

Are there any other things I could do at home to make it special for her.

Other birthdays last year included a superhero party, a carnival, holiday theme, a massive treasure hunt and a circus theme which were all amazing, but I'm running out of ideas now and don't want this one to fall flat.

Any help would be much appreciated. TIA

That was my first thought, along with a thorough bag check and people wandering around sloshing beer everywhere

A lovely idea, op! It all sounds great. You could stick a line of wall paper around the walls to draw or stick faces on? Maybe add a few celebs for dd to find.

🤣🤣 I won't clean the toilet for a week or so beforehand as well. Make it really authentic.

I have loads of glo sticks in my cupboard of random shit I own for no reason, thats a fantastic idea. As is a programme. I'll definitely do that, or see if I can buy one off ebay for the concert we will be 'at'

Sticking faces onto wallpaper is great too, I can get the younger ones to do that to get them involved.

Blow up beach balls , flamingos etc to hit about like they've been thrown in the audience.
Big Confetti popper thing. Pull it at the same time as they do in the concert if that happens.

Oooooh thats a brilliant idea, photo op with Lady Gaga. If the cut outs are too expensive I'll get a mask and wear something outrageous and be lady G myself 😂

Confetti party popper thing would be awesome too, which just made me think of getting those ice sparkler things for cakes and doing some pyrotechnics too.

Might actually print off a ladies and gents toilet sign and make the upstairs one the ladies , just to be extra awkward authentic.

A few years ago the festival we were going to got cancelled last-minute. We set up a massive screen in the garden and projected youtube videos of all the bands who were supposed to play. It was great!

Ooooh yes, I have a massive glitter tattoo and facepainting kit and facegems as well so can go all festivally.

I'd love to do this outside but can't rely on the weather at the minute and the garden will be a swamp at the slightest hint of rain.

Oh thank you, I had a look around and saw some more expensive ones but I've just ordered her the life size one in the white dress from that site. She will absolutely adore it.

I have a little addition to the beach ball idea, I'm going to do a balloon drop near the end of the concert (including the beach balls) as well. I've ordered a net thing for balloon drops that cost around £4 so will look really effective and hardly cost a thing.

Who's the warm-up act?

For your crowd could buy a pack of celeb face masks, or cut out faces from magazines - super-cheapy trashy ones. But you might need quite a few to make it look right.

DH did a concert for me for my birthday. He got smoke machine / disco lights etc. It was fab sure your dd will love it, there’s such great ideas here!

Thank you BearSoFair she is the big 13 so want to make a real occasion of it for her.

Warm up act? I never thought about that, but I got a karaoke machine for christmas... this may be the very thing that ruins it 😂😂

I could make a playing of live clips of her other favourite artists and play that while she is getting her food and drinks etc, thats an awesome idea. I bought a crowd scenesetter and my younger kids are going to cut out faces from magazines and stick them on some lining paper. Celeb face masks is a brilliant idea too, I know I have a load of superhero ones in my cupboard of random shit but I'll go have a mooch about the internet for more.

If you're using a smoke machine your smoke alarms may keep going off! Might we'd someone to be incharge of turning them off again!
