Eeeek!

It's been at least five years!

What do we think?

It’s been 3yrs- I remember in 2018 being snowed in for over a wk!

I don’t want snow- sorry to be a grinch but the walk is all we have lol

cyclingmad · 15/01/2021 20:34

I hope so, so I can enjoy it without thinking urgh I have to get to work in this and will my shoes slip Grin

sqirrelfriends · 15/01/2021 20:36

Is the forecast still saying snow? I'm in Greater London and covered by the yellow weather warning but only have 1 hour of snow forecast tomorrow along with lots of rain.Sad

AndAllOurYesterdays · 15/01/2021 20:40

I really hope so. It would really cheer my kids up. Anything to change lockdown up a bit.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 15/01/2021 20:40

Snowed in in London for over a week in 2018? Goodness where do you live (roughly) @OnlyFoolsnMothers?

My forecast says only the hour at 4am, my DS was excited until I said rain from 5am onwards Grin I wouldn't mind it snowing, only as I don't have to leave the house lol

Spottybluepyjamas · 15/01/2021 20:43

Yeah I think it's only been 3 - when the beast from the east happened! London was blanketed in snow, at least where I was! I work in Farringdon and lived in south London at the time

MaizeBlouse · 15/01/2021 20:46

Ooh I hope so! For the DCs sake, they need a bit if excitement bless them.

And yes I remember the snow in March 2018. Ds1 was a little baby and I have a lovely picture of him and DP in the park surrounded by white. It went on for ages!

nitgel · 15/01/2021 20:46

I really hope not. I have to drive my dad to get his jab and lots of pensioners will be out doing the same. It would be shit if it settled and its worrying me.

Sandsnake · 15/01/2021 20:47

Possibly, I think, for a small while tomorrow morning. Unfortunately though the temperatures are going to rise fairly rapidly and so anything will turn to rain / melt quickly. I’ve been managing DS’ expectations about it (we’re in Surrey, so even less likely to get it) all evening!Grin

I bloody love snow though have been very jealous of how much parts of the north have had recently!

olderthanyouthink · 15/01/2021 20:48

Oh come on! We have a couple days isolation left and no garden 😭 would it be ok if I pop DD in a bin bag and take her outside like that so she can't possibly infect the neighbours????

iVampire · 15/01/2021 20:52

I do hope so! I have a young dog and I’d love to see what she thinks of it!

H1978 · 15/01/2021 20:55

You’re welcome to our snow in Yorkshire. It was lovely yesterday when it fell but fast becoming icy with minus temperatures. Tesco cancelled my online shop today because of the weather.

MarshaBradyo · 15/01/2021 20:58

Not five years we definitely had snow when dd was a baby (born 2017)

2018 sounds right

Chicchicchicchiclana · 15/01/2021 20:58

God, I can't remember this heavy snow fall in London in 2018 at all! Must be losing it.

@Chicchicchicchiclana

South east London, I distinctly remember because I was on mat leave.
OnlyFoolsnMothers · 15/01/2021 21:00

Ok if it was thick snow where we could build snow men and sledge then yes I’d like snow. But in reality it would be icy sludge with the government warning against falls and telling us to stay home.

MarshaBradyo · 15/01/2021 21:01

I’m SE London too

Maybe we had special 2018 snow Grin

It was really heavy and lasted a fair few days

Chicchicchicchiclana · 15/01/2021 21:06

Blimey. I'm in SE London too. Must have been off in another dimension.

OP posts:
MaizeBlouse · 15/01/2021 21:07

Yes it was special SE London snow I think Grin where I live we have our whole own eco system being so high up fucking hilly though

justasmalltownmum · 15/01/2021 21:08

The beast from the east 2018! I went in to labour and it was a very slow drive to the hospital through the snow.

kingat · 15/01/2021 21:14

Too warm, it will melt by the time I get up

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 15/01/2021 21:21

I really hope so. Kids seeing pics from friends in Yorkshire and are super jealous...

ShaunaTheSheep · 15/01/2021 21:22

I did laugh when I received a email titled Met Office Yellow Snow Warning Issued today.

I’d prefer white.

Angel2702 · 15/01/2021 21:24

Mine says snow in middle of the night and then very heavy rain all day.
