Eeeek!

It's been at least five years!

What do we think?

We definitely had snow in Feb 2019 in zone two north west London. I found the photo and remember being in our (then) new house. I remember it being odd though as went to work in central London to find no snow at all.

TheChosenTwo · 15/01/2021 21:41

I remember snow in 2018, I’d slipped discs in my back and couldn’t go out to sledge. I was furious!
And then a small sprinkling the year after, not quite as much.
However even in 2018 we maybe had 4 inches, I want a proper deep pile of snow!

PenguindreamsofDraco · 15/01/2021 21:45

I remember it snowing hard in central London in 2018 with the strangest yellow light in the afternoon. Really eerie.

MarshaBradyo · 15/01/2021 21:49

2019 in contrast was incredibly mild and the roses kept blooming and things weirdly kept growing without reprieve

I always look back and think I didn’t know what was coming (pandemic) - obviously! But it’s odd looking back

Beast from the east, end of February 2018. SE London too, we were snowed in for a week. I was feeding neighbour's dogs, house was at the top of a steep hill and that week was not fun. My boyfriend had also broken a leg so getting to and from uni was a dangerous adventure. We did manage a couple of snowmen in the garden though!

SunnyMountain · 15/01/2021 22:03

Snow late February/early March 2018 in SW London. I was on mat leave and had a job interview on 1st March and there was so much snow trains weren’t running.

CoronaIsWatching · 15/01/2021 22:05

Unlikely.

March 2018 - outskirts of south London.

Will we have snow in London tomorrow?
CeibaTree · 15/01/2021 22:26

It snowed in Feb 2019 for sure - in north London at least.

Bloodybridget · 16/01/2021 03:42

I just looked outside but no snow yet (inner north London). Ridiculously, I am hoping to see some, although it would be inconvenient as I have to get to a hospital appointment.

Onedropbeat · 16/01/2021 05:52

Should be snowing right now

namechangefail2020 · 16/01/2021 06:13

It's gonna rain straight after so it's just gonna be a white slush puppy. Gutted, I want my kids to see proper snow for the first time

LemonDrizzles · 16/01/2021 06:27

So did it snow where you are?

User24689 · 16/01/2021 06:32

There is some wet white stuff coming down on Cambridgeshire now. What I don't understand is it says the temp is 0, feels like -3 and it will be 1 degree all morning yet rain is forecast. What conditions are supposed to mean snow fgs? It's almost enough to make me move back up north! 😁

Deathraystare · 16/01/2021 07:31

Selfishly I hope it doesn't fall today - at least not before 2pm as I am at work. I wore boots yesterday but was running a bit late and walk rather clompily and slower in boots so I have skechers on today. Once I am home I don't mind.

I will have to get some of my warmer wear out of storage now as t shirts not really cutting it at the moment.

Neeks888 · 16/01/2021 07:32

Have woken up to snow in NW london today Grin

KatherineJaneway · 16/01/2021 07:37

Raining here - East London

MsConstrue · 16/01/2021 07:37

no snow here! (north London) I was so excited last night and went straight to the window this morning (i'm 50!). Oh well. I need to move somewhere else for snow I think.

shotofchips · 16/01/2021 07:39

@Chicchicchicchiclana

Snowed in in London for over a week in 2018? Goodness where do you live (roughly) *@OnlyFoolsnMothers*?
Yes it was the Beast from the East. I gave birth at the time and was scared to take a newborn out in the awful snow
HaveANiceFuckingDay · 16/01/2021 07:43

I’m in Essex . We have very wet sleet 😢

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 16/01/2021 07:45

Just rain here in SW London. I’m in 2 minds about snow - looks lovely and lightens everything but OTOH will probably make my usual walk too slippery. I wouldn’t want to be one of the many inundating our local A&E with fractures every time there’s snow. Let alone the kind that turns to slush and then freezes, with more snow on top, so that it’s positively lethal.

DinosApple · 16/01/2021 07:45

We've got about 2 cm in Suffolk. Weather forecast I'd say between 5-10cm so we feel a little cheated!

Kids are up want to play on the sledges in the garden before the rain steals the fun. But I'm currently having an argument with my 9yo that she can't go out in her PJs!

Yes raining here, SW too

I remember the snow in March 2018 as well!

I was 20wks with DS and we'd just told DD (3 at the time) she was going to have a little brother, then we went in the garden to play. That was at the start of March... Her birthday is the second week of March and it was pretty much gone by then but we were worrying about her grandparents getting to us for the day!

She had a lovely time in that snow, only the second lot she'd seen (first would've been around 2015, I think). Poor DS is 2 and has never seen snow!
