I've got a bloomburg, 8 kg very pleased with it

DrinkRefilled · 15/01/2021 16:13

BOSCH are really good.

BEKO are really bad

ThomasHardyPerennial · 15/01/2021 16:14

LG.

yoigh · 15/01/2021 16:15

Just to add the current one is Bosch, it's about 15 years old!

We are thinking Bosch or Indesit but it's a very tight space to get the washing machine into, so going to have to go by the size firstly!

New machines are deeper than the old ones so be prepared for it to suck out further.

user1498572889 · 15/01/2021 16:26

Stick not suck

ConfusedDotty · 15/01/2021 16:28

Actually, I don't agree with this. I have had both and there is hardly any difference between them.

If my machine needed replacing I would have a Bosch or Beko, it would depend on which one was the quickest to be delivered, I have alternated between these two brands for years. The only thing that went wrong with both makes was the circuit board.

We have a 12kg hot point. Never had a bother with it and obviously the drum is massive so saves on the amount of washes! Couldn’t recommend enough.

PantsandBoots · 15/01/2021 16:53

I reluctantly said goodbye to my much loved 13 yr old Bosch and bravely bought a Hotpoint washer/dryer and it is fab . Good price too.

murbblurb · 15/01/2021 17:18

indesit mytime here - went for the 6kg. Works fine and washes in one hour BUT needs to be firmly fastened in place as it has a rectangular footprint, not a square one. This means it walks across the floor unless wedged. Design blunder.

go for one with a square footprint and a shorter wash cycle. Spend as little as possible, they are no longer designed to be repairable.

Champagneforeveryone · 15/01/2021 17:21

We have a Bosch Serie 2, it's very good and was less than £400 IIRC. It does have a small drum as it's only a 7kg but that's fine for the 3 of us.

Ifailed · 15/01/2021 17:22

Miele. They last for ever and built like a tank.

Cookerhood · 15/01/2021 17:25

Miele.
However you may not have a choice at the moment. We are finding it incredibly hard to get a new dishwasher, there is a shortage of appliances at the moment.

yoigh · 15/01/2021 17:57

Thanks everyone! I would like a Miele, but slightly out of our price range, thinking about 400-500 mark!

Samsung Eco Bubble. Also comes with 5 year guarantee.

TheFairyCaravan · 15/01/2021 18:38

We’ve got an older version of this Bosch one. It’s brilliant. I can adjust the normal wash cycle to an hour, and it has a quick 30 min wash too. We’ve had it about 7 years.

yoigh · 15/01/2021 21:30

We have a major headache on our hands, the space for where the washing machine sits, is only 58.5cm and that's at a push, all the washing machines are 59cm and above!!

user1498572889 · 18/01/2021 17:27

What make is the machine you have in there ?

mbosnz · 18/01/2021 17:32

We have a Samsung, and it's sodding amazing. Huge load capacity, quiet, fast. And we've got the matching dryer, which we are able to stack on top of it, which has an even bigger load capacity, weirdly.

yoigh · 18/01/2021 18:33

In the end we have gone for a hotpoint washing machine and a hotpoint dryer!

I have a Bosch Serie 4. I've had it for about four years and I love it.

Graphista · 18/01/2021 18:58

Don't get indesit they're shit! I'm
Needing a new one too and I've been seeing that Bosch is most recommended.

I have which? Membership if you'd like me to check there?

Miele are more expensive Bosch are same manufacturers

cluecu · 18/01/2021 19:09

Me,my mum and my sister all have zanussi lindo range washers and would recommend. They are not too dear I don't think compared to some

LastTrainEast · 18/01/2021 19:15

As for depth that may be misleading. They are measuring to the front of the door handle I think not the front of the whole case.

I just got a beko and was worried it wouldn't fit but it was fine in practice and has been great.
