And it was amazing!

I don’t normally have a desert, but was absolutely in the mood tonight.

Like childhood comfort food, it was delicious.

I have tinned pears with greek yoghurt and honey for breakfast some mornings. They're great!

Nonamealoud · 14/01/2021 19:57

Jelly, Ice-Cream and tinned mandarin oranges.

I started buying tinned fruit in the first lockdown. I hadn't had it since I was a child. I still buy some every week muw.

rosy71 · 14/01/2021 20:04

Muw?? I meant now.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 14/01/2021 20:04

Sounds lovely.

Tinned pears and chocolate ice cream is amazing.

barbrahunter · 14/01/2021 20:06

Another one who started buying tinned fruit for the first time in about 40 years in the first lockdown, it's great!

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 14/01/2021 20:06

And tinned peaches with raspberry ripple ice cream is great too.

Scarby9 · 14/01/2021 20:06

For my parties when I was little, my mum used to make jellies in individual rabbit moulds (with blobs of whipped cream as tails) and tinned pear mice - flaked almonds for ears and I can't think what as eyes.
Happy days!

I did too. I'd forgotten how nice it is. And none of the annoying peeling and chopping.
CMOTDibbler · 14/01/2021 20:08

Lush. I'm very fond of tinned fruit cocktail with jelly and squirty cream, but when things are really dire my secret vice is tinned peaches, jelly and condensed milk

theculture · 14/01/2021 20:11

Tinned fruit and custard- yum!

Crappyfridays7 · 14/01/2021 20:11

I used to love jelly tinned fruit cocktail and tip top, or rice pudding - which is still my comfort food if I’m upset l

LizFlowers · 14/01/2021 20:12

Nice! I fancy some now.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/01/2021 20:16

I made a chocolate cake with tinned pears during the first lockdown. Delicious.

The most important question here though is, what flavour jelly was it? Green jelly = the best jelly.

CormoranStrike · 14/01/2021 20:19

Oh, I have found my people Grin

Scout camp pudding: tinned pears, chocolate angel delight, chocolate Swiss roll.

Food of kings.

bluebellation · 14/01/2021 20:57

My mum used to make quick 'trifle' in individual bowls - slice of swiss roll, half a tinned peach, tinned custard, sprinkles.

RightOnTheEdge · 14/01/2021 20:58

I hadn't had tinned fruit since I was little until a Brazilian friends game me tinned peaches and evaporated milk for dessert a while ago.
How had I forgotten how nice that was?!

Scarby9 · 14/01/2021 20:59

Guide camp pudding: tinned peach halves on slices of vanilla swiss roll with top of the milk - 'poached egg pudding'.
