what would your dream career be?

If you had to be really specific, what would your dream career be?

I have a fantasy of sitting in my plant room in my big glass house overlooking the beach on my laptop working while I help people to redesign their lives to get the perfect balance between lifestyle, finances, family, career etc. I couldn't think of anything more rewarding than making people feel so excited because they feel their dream life is a reality. I would have no idea how to go about this myself. Any pointers?

I love my current job in many ways, but I'd really like to work for myself again.

I have just started studying for an IT qualification that will take five to six years. I am hoping in nine years' time (I'll be 47), when our mortgage drops considerably, that I'll be able to do my current work, plus something more IT-related as a freelancer, so I could try to work more flexibly.

I'd also love to pick up some painting commissions at that point, but I wouldn't want that to be my sole revenue stream, as I know many full-time artists have to spend a lot of time teaching and marketing to be able to earn a living and I'm pretty sure I'd struggle with the pressure if that was my only means of support.

The one I’ve got.

I’m an independent career coach, helping people who want to make massive career changes and I LOVE IT. It’s a brilliant feeling when you’re working with someone to turn their pipe dreams into real plans and watching them get there too. I was working with a client today who had a day job in higher education- horribly stressful and also unfulfilling for her. She’s now working through the plan we made to make a career from writing and teaching yoga and she is so much happier.

Happy to talk more about what I do if you’re interested - just drop me a PM.

@Popsy321 is there an MLM which offers life coaching? I have heard people say this before but never come across one.

I know anyone can set up as a life coach and you don’t have to be accredited. Maybe that’s why?

I got into career coaching because I used to work in corporate HR as a talent manager. We used career coaching to help people’s careers develop, and I tried it out myself, got interested and ended up getting accredited and striking out for myself.

I would love to be a midwife. It's something I've been interested in for years. I've decided to do something about it and have plans in place to go back to uni at the end of next year.

@Daftasabroom

Another ex pro sports international here, a champagne lifestyle on a beer income. Loved it but it's not family friendly, wouldn't pay a mortgage, and I got too old and too injured.

I'd like to have been an architect of sustainable and passive homes.

Hey sports buddy.

Do you still compete at all?

Astronaut 👩‍🚀. The prospect of going back to the moon and on to Mars is so exciting and it’s going to be happening soon - NASA are aiming to be back on the moon by 2024).

In reality though I don’t have a head for maths or science and have type 1 diabetes so it won’t happen unless nasa get REALLY desperate, it won’t be happening.

The famous quote from 'The Towers of Trebizond' by Rose Macaulay pretty much sums up my history:

'I too follow professions, but at some distance behind, and seldom catch up with them.'

I've been involved with each of my top three professions - and have no idea how to finish this sentence ...

An artist/sculptor!🎨🖌️ I'm not sure if I could make a living from this but I would love to take it up professionally. When I'm feeling better I'll start researching it.
