Carole Middleton, is she the ultimate mum raising a future queen?

I'm currently reading Harry & Meghan's book Finding Freedom... Meghan's parents particularly Doria have been applauded for putting such an emphasis on Meghan's education, ensuring she got into an expensive Catholic school & ensuring she worked very hard at school...
Surely the Middleton's should get the same praise but they were ridiculed & accused of being upwardly mobile... Kate & Pippa both attended excellent universities so they obviously worked very hard also..
The other parents in the girkd private school weren't too complimentary about Carole either with snipes about the girls uniforms, sports equipment etc too perfect. I reckon the other parents were jealous.
In my opinion Carole has done an amazing job raising out future queen & should be given more credit...

There's no one who likes to tear women down like other women. I think Kate appears to be a very nice person, well put together, intelligent and a caring mum. Her own parents have built a successful business and their daughters are well turned out because of it.

I think Megan is a strong woman, brought up by another strong woman, different approach but similar results. All power to them

I’m not a big royalist but agree. Women can be cruel about other women, mostly to totally unjustified.

I’d draw that line at calling her the ultimate mum, but from an outsider’s perspective she certainly seems to have done a very good job. I though Doria was absent for a large part of Meghan’s childhood and she was brought up by her father?

You’re misunderstanding the much-quoted comments from other Marlborough parents, OP — the comments on the perfect, brand-new uniforms and sports equipment, pristine name-tapes and perfect picnics aren’t jealousy, they’re not very subtle put-downs aimed at the Middletons being perceived to be nouveaux riches and getting their class markers wrong. The correct effect would be much more confidently careless and less effortful.

It emphasises the importance of Megan's education & how seriously her parents took it. Her fee paying Catholic school sounded just as prestigious as Marlborough.. Kate's parents were portrayed as social climbers for wanting private education for their dc

I met Carole Middleton 4 times, I worked in her local waitrose. I can say she's absolutely bloody awful. Rude, obnoxious, impatient and caused a right old fuss because we couldn't immediately lay our hands on mascarpone with a use by date that was acceptable to her

And as for the year she wanted priority access slot for a Christmas turkey ... just bloody rude

Could be an incredible mother though I suppose!

Hope the Thomas's Battersea parents are nicer about Kate & Wills!

The horror of her not being able to provide the future King of England with a Turkey at Christmas must have taken over

I'm surprised she was buying a Waitrose turkey, I would have thought the bird would have come from Sandringham or at the very least the posh local organic farmer would have provided her with one!

Maybe she was a fairly hands off Mom and or was all Dad. Maybe they were decent parents but the girls were ambitious.

They seem like a close family who have raised two daughters to marry well and use their education for after dinner chit chat. The brother has failed less well with the marshmallow business and poor mental health, not that I'm suggesting anyone is to blame for the latter of course. I'm not sure really you can deduce much more then they seem to love each other
