Christmas Weight: Truth or Dare?!

AudTheDeepAndCrispAndEven · 01/01/2021 10:41

Tell us how much weight you've out on over Christmas then, go on!
I weighed myself this morning and it's three pounds, which I'm quite relived about, thought it was going to be more. I'd lost a few pounds before Christmas so I'm kind of back where I started rather than even heavier. Back on the healthy band wagon now, aiming for 10k steps a day and cutting back on the booze and crap.

How much have you gained?
@bluerad what excess chocs?!
We were given loads and bought some for visitors that never came. But we are being stoic and are working our way through it Smile

I don't weigh myself but know by my jeans if I've gained.
I haven't eaten bigger amounts this Christmas, just slightly unhealthier foods - chocolate, pringles, etc., which I never touch usually.
I think my weight is the same, but I feel a bit sluggish, so looking forward to ditching the sugar, eating more fruit and veg.
I lost a lot of weight last year, and even when I let myself eat more than usual, I can't. I think I'm used to smaller portions now.

5lbs and there is still chocolate left. I was almost down to my target weight mid December and then I thought ffs it's Christmas just start again in January Grin

@HaudMaDug unless you are under five foot you are very underweight, I'm guessing you know that? But I also think you should see a doctor if you're taller than that.

I’ve stayed the same since the start of November when I last weighed. Most likely I lost some weight before Christmas as I did indulge on food rather a lot. Feeling it now and ready to start eating better this week.

3 kilos on, 3 kilos off. I've been doing keto though. Took three days off. It must have been water. Cut carbs from 27th... and it's gone.

Blurred - do you mind me asking what area your in?

I’m on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire boarder and swimming pools are closed otherwise I’d be booking in!

I don’t own scales so don’t weigh myself, I tend to go by how my ‘tight’ jeans fit Grin
If they don’t do up I know I need to cut back for a bit.
They fit fine, I haven’t really overindulged in either food or drink this year (never normally the case!) due to no socialising etc.
We’ve been out for long walks every day and I’ve been going for my run every other morning like usual so I’m more active with the daily walks too.
I just haven't fancied the treat food so much this year like I often do.
It’s all been a bit blah really!

Lost 2 kgs since the last time I weighed myself a few weeks ago. Still need to lose another 3 kgs to get back to prelockdown weight.

Worcestershire. You need to book in advance and only two people per lane at any one time.

8lb in 12 days. Not happy about it. Don't feel 8lb bigger. I had lost 2.5 st up to then.
To be fair a lot of that should drop off in the next week or 2 as I was due on on Christmas day, started taking an oral contraceptive that day which has then stopped my period. I'm fairly certain I'm clinging on to my usual 3lb gain at the time if my period.
Today is day 1 back on 1200 cals a day. I can do it!

8lbs on but I suspect some is muscle as I've been running outside a lot (hilly area!) whereas I normally run on a treadmill. I'll lose most of that in the next week or 2, it's mostly bloat!

I weighed this morning and 6lb of my Christmas weight has come off. As hoped. Phew! Now to hopefully shift some more before summer. Ideally 2 more stone maybe a little more. Then another stone or so before I'll be happy.

I am obese, so need to lose plenty.

However, oddly enough I always lose weight during the Xmas period. I think this is because I take the chance to be lazy in the morning and so eat less, plus I only really blow out in food terms on Xmas day, boxing day and New Year's eve, which were quiet this year, so less of an issue for me. I've been snacking less and I also went on some long walks with a couple of people in my bubble.

I lost about 4lbs while not trying, but I am trying now and have lost another 2lb this week. Slow, steady and onwards for more.

But over that period and Christmas its 4.5 lbs

Ive put on 8lb in a week over Christmas though so im pleased with that 😀
