Christmas Weight: Truth or Dare?!

AudTheDeepAndCrispAndEven · 01/01/2021 10:41

Tell us how much weight you've out on over Christmas then, go on!
I weighed myself this morning and it's three pounds, which I'm quite relived about, thought it was going to be more. I'd lost a few pounds before Christmas so I'm kind of back where I started rather than even heavier. Back on the healthy band wagon now, aiming for 10k steps a day and cutting back on the booze and crap.

How much have you gained?

Yep, 3lbs here too.

redcandlelight · 01/01/2021 10:44

nothing.
if I eat a lot for one meal I automatically eat less the next.
I don't snack anyway and any sweets or chocolates are tagged onto the meal.

WhatTheFoot · 01/01/2021 10:45

3lbs too! I actually did think it would be more considering what I've eaten (and drunk) so I'm ok with that. I lost half a stone in the run up to Christmas so I'm fairly confident I can loose these few pounds - after today, huge roast planned for later!

TitInATrance · 01/01/2021 10:46

About 4lb, mostly in the run-up to Xmas. Happens every year, I’ll soon shift it. Back to soup for lunch.

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/01/2021 10:47

8lb in December Shock
To be fair, it’s not just food (though that’s definitely a big part!) but being stuck in the house for around 3 weeks of the month due to me/ kids isolating so hardly any walking when my average is 15-20k steps.

kowari · 01/01/2021 10:49

3lb, much needed as I'm still underweight. Now the battle to keep it on when I go back to work.

Campervan69 · 01/01/2021 10:49

8lb through December as we have lots of family birthdays starting end of November so we basically have a run of 6 weeks up to Christmas where a lot of eating and drinking is done. So always happens. Back on it today aiming to lose a stone overall.

AudTheDeepAndCrispAndEven · 01/01/2021 10:49

@WhatTheFoot I was expecting more too. Not planning on weighing myself for a couple of weeks now, hoping to have lost it by then!

@redcandlelight does a heavenly choir start when you appear in the room? Well done on your supreme self control and putting the rest of us impulsive gluttons to shame!

I've managed to lose two pounds through December, small loss hampered by being a greedy pig at Christmas.

I would love that Grin, but no.

it just happens to be the case that my apetite matches my calorie need. I know that's lucky.
but 3 or 4 pounds should be easily lost, in such a short time it's mostly water.

PoppyOppy · 01/01/2021 11:03

I'm the same weight I was at the beginning of December. No idea how as every time I went into the kitchen I stuffed food or chocolate in my mouth washed down with a drink from whatever bottle was open Grin.

DeadCertain · 01/01/2021 11:12

I haven't put any on in December, a whole (!!) 0.4kg lighter today than on Christmas Day.

HaudMaDug · 01/01/2021 12:55

No idea when or even how I've lost it but its seems I'm only 6 stone 8 today but at the start of December I was 7 stone 2. Clothes are a little slack right enough but its a mystery to me considering how much cheese I've grazed on in the last couple of weeks.

MrsGrindah · 01/01/2021 12:58

@HaudMaDug I’d seek medical advice if I were you. That’s a lot to lose without trying in a month.

bluerad · 01/01/2021 13:04

4lb here but I did Joe Wicks this morning and booked to go swimming tomorrow and Sunday. Loads of Xmas chocolate left though. What are you all doing with excess chocs?

PurpleDaisies · 01/01/2021 13:06

I lost across the whole of December. It helped that there was very little socialising to be done!

WorraLiberty · 01/01/2021 13:16

None. I don't think I eat any more at Christmas, I just eat differently.

HaudMaDug · 01/01/2021 13:20

@MrsGrindah
Kinda wish I had left the scales under the stairs now but feeling fine and loads of energy.
I keep expecting to put on weight as I'm post meno for 5 years now but maybe I'm running on excess testosterone. (not on HRT)

Kakiweewee · 01/01/2021 13:23

5lbs. After a year of going without to lose 80lbs I think that wasn't too bad. It'll take less than a month to shift.

Ninkanink · 01/01/2021 13:33

Nothing! I really didn’t overindulge this year.

Ihateme · 01/01/2021 13:39

Lost 3lb since Boxing Day Xmas Grin

Stillinbedat10am · 01/01/2021 13:39

3lb on. I wouldn't mind, but in mid-December I had just broken the "next stone down" barrier which left me with under a stone to lose to get to my target. Now I am back up in the next stone bracket again, although still just within a healthy BMI range.

January is going to be difficult as I am back to WFH again which means that I will struggle to lose as I will not be moving as much during the day as I naturally do when in the workplace.

Oh well...

AudTheDeepAndCrispAndEven · 01/01/2021 18:09

@bluerad what excess chocs?!

Houseplantmad · 01/01/2021 19:52

-1.5kg since Christmas Day - but that's covid for you 😩
