What the hell is leaving this in my conservatory overnight?

Sorry it’s a poo related one. Promise I’m not a troll.

I’m fed up of waking every day to see several of these stringy poos over the conservatory floor. I don’t know what’s making them. I’ve sealed all cracks.

I hate the conservatory anyway as it’s always a bit shabby and was poorly made (thanks previous owner!) but am trying to make the best of it. But this is causing me serious irritation.

What is it? Which animal do I have to find a way to get rid of? please don’t say a rat

Snails?

Any trails around windows etc?

MuttsNutts · 01/01/2021 09:30

Is it not a small dried up slug? They get in through the tiniest of gaps.

Mintjulia · 01/01/2021 09:31

Definitely not a rat dropping. It looks like a dead slug.

RMRM · 01/01/2021 09:33

Snail or slug, I reckon. Can you see any trails?

We had some come into a rented (hole of a) house once and they were surprisingly difficult to track down.

Bluntness100 · 01/01/2021 09:33

Are you sure it’s poo? Not a black worm?

The only long thing poo I can think of is hedgehog. But wouldn’t be that thin I think,

Is your conservatory damp? Becayse that attracts black worms.

Alexandernevermind · 01/01/2021 09:33

It looks more like a dried up worm?

ArseholesOnToast · 01/01/2021 09:33

Looks like snail droppings. Rat droppings are pellet shaped.

girlcrushonvillanelle · 01/01/2021 09:35

Do you have cats?

Can we have some scale? What is the brown line? Carpet?

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 01/01/2021 09:35

Desiccated tiny slug. We get them by the french window. Goodness knows why they come in - or indeed how!

Bluntness100 · 01/01/2021 09:36

I think it’s too long to be a snail dropping, unless she’s got snails that have right dodgey guts,,,😃

Have you squished it op? As said I’d have said black worm.

user1491404899 · 01/01/2021 09:37

Its a dead slug

Soutiner · 01/01/2021 09:42

It looks like fish poo.

Either your conservatory has been flooded and is completely under water and you haven’t realised or the fish have mutated and are flapping around on dry land.

SoupDragon · 01/01/2021 09:44

If it was a worm then why are they all dying overnight in the OP's conservatory?

ButterMeUpScotty · 01/01/2021 09:45

It’s some sort of slug thing, we used to get them in our crap conservatory, near the doors but not always. Grossed me outEnvy

WeatherwaxOn · 01/01/2021 09:47

Looks like a dried up worm.
Do you have a cat?
A late friend of mine used to have a cat which would hunt worms and leave them carefully laid out on her bedside mat.

Daisydoesnt · 01/01/2021 09:48

It’s a dried out worm!

AndIquote · 01/01/2021 09:48

It looks like a dried worm. Have you put some plants in there, not watered and they've dried up? The worms come out of the soil looking for water.

TheRealHousewife · 01/01/2021 09:49

Dried out worm?

Disfordarkchocolate · 01/01/2021 09:52

Spider poo if it's in the same area each time.

ValpolicellaPrimitivo · 01/01/2021 09:54

We keep getting them in our garage, dried up worm.

Bluntness100 · 01/01/2021 10:16

We had a rental years ago and when we moved in they had black worms like this on the carpet, it was because the place had been Unheated for a while, so got cold and damp. Once it was being lived in again, warm and no damp, they disappeared.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/01/2021 10:29

Spider poo if it's in the same area each time

This has got me wondering if spiders do actually pooh Grin
But they eat so...

It's not rat or mouse they have smaller , neater shaped droppings .
It does look like the fossilised worm bodies left by our cats after a sucessful Worm Hunt

tomnjerrylover · 01/01/2021 10:37

Trots of to google spider poo

ReggaePerrin · 01/01/2021 10:37

It looks like a dried up worm to me too.

It's not spider, mouse or rat poo. It looks too long and thin to be a slug.

Bluntness100 · 01/01/2021 10:54

It’s not spicer poop 😂
