Please tell me buying ‘special’ cheese is a Christmas thing only!

I usually buy a block of cheddar weekly for use in lasagne, cheese on toast etc.

Christmas is the only time I buy Brie, Camembert, fruity cheese and Boursin.

Since Christmas Eve I’ve eaten these cheeses every day for tea with crackers, on toast and sometimes just a chunk on its own 😆

Fridge is now empty and I’m doing an online food shop. I’m SOOOO tempted to reorder a wheel of Brie and some Boursin but I know it will become a daily habit as I love it so much - my cholesterol and backside will suffer.

Someone tell me to step away from the cheese and that mostly people treat these as special occasion only cheeses ☺️

This thread just made me eat some crackers & cheese.

Can anyone recommend a chilli jam?

We tend to buy boursin, fruity and spicy cheeses for Christmas. We got the lidl variety box half price.
During the year, we have mozzarella for making pizzas, cheddar and red Leicester. If you want more cheese then get it. You'll get bored soon enough.

We don't buy them all the time but will have cheese nights so will get different cheese in for cheese and crackers or get a camembert in. Its just at Christmas we have them all in at once.

It's the highlight of my trips to the hospital to go into Neal's Yard Dairy afterwards and breathe in the air, never mind the wonderful things I bring home with me.

We usually have strong cheddar, a soft cheese, mozzarella, a blue cheese and at least one goat's cheese in the top drawer of the fridge. Then there's the occasional halloumi and feta for a main meal. It keeps you feeling far fuller than some crappy custard creams and, despite being lactose intolerant and on long term meds that knacker the bones, I've got really good bone density, which I put down to good cheese and proper butter.
