Where do 45 year old men buy clothes?!

45 year old DH is in desperate need of casual clothes and never spends money on himself so I want to do a big online order he can try out at home. Where do your similarly aged men shop?

John Lewis- their own range for men is quite good and they stock many other brands
Very easy free returns

Diverseduvet · 27/12/2020 15:45

H & M?

TessApricot · 27/12/2020 15:46

@OxfordwillsaveusbyFebruary I can’t believe I didn’t think of there! Thank you.

My DH likes Crew Clothing for casual things. That's not to say he's any sort of fashion icon or style guru mind Grin but they have a good range of basics in good colours and the fabrics are nice and seem to wash well.

fastwigglylines · 27/12/2020 16:03

Is he into films?.

DP loves Last Exit to Nowhere. www.lastexittonowhere.com

They do casual clothes with logos inspired by storylines / businesses in well known films and TV shows, but you wouldn't necessarily recognise them unless you knew the film. Also, using lots of different styles.

e.g. these are all inspired by Bladerunner.

My dp is 40 but likes Uniqlo, Gap, John Lewis and tk max

2pinkginsplease · 27/12/2020 16:09

My husband wears clothes mostly from Burtons and next.

fastwigglylines · 27/12/2020 16:11

... and these are from Stranger Things, The Wicker Man and Fight Club, also from Last Exit to Nowhere.

Click on their "film" tab at the top to find films your DH likes. As well as more recently films, it includes a load of 80s classics so perfect for people in their 40s.

Superdry do a really good range of plain T-shirts, really good quality. DH doesn't like the designed ones as he feels he's too old for them.

Lands end also do decent clothes for men. As PP said JL is also good.

TessApricot · 27/12/2020 16:19

Thank you so much! I hadn’t thought of any of these for some reason. I had only thought of Fatface which he shopped in 10 years ago.

Off to look at all your suggestions.

My DH- h and m, sainsbury's.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/12/2020 16:25

He might want to see if there's anything left in the Debenhams sale.

DH saw their demise coming and stocked up on his standard chinos and shirts.

Tronkmanton · 27/12/2020 16:27

My DH is also 45 and shops at Hollister for trousers and jumpers.

PickAChew · 27/12/2020 16:31

Mine likes fatface, particularly their jeans and hoodies, and odds and ends from markses, next sainsburys and uniqlo.

LovingCountryLife · 27/12/2020 16:32

DH likes All Saints and Diesel jeans.

Sparklingbrook · 27/12/2020 16:32

John Lewis/House of Fraser/Debenhams. Assuming Debenhams still exists...

Loushome · 27/12/2020 16:37

Gant, Hugo Boss, loungewear from The White Company, Polo Ralph Lauren, Next & JL as others have said.

SleepyRoo · 27/12/2020 16:42

John Smedley, Uniqlo, Sunspel, Nike

SexyGiraffe · 27/12/2020 16:44

My husband likes Massimo Dutti, Uniqlo for basics and sometimes Scalpers.

Twobrews · 27/12/2020 16:47

I think it varies widely.
My DH wears a lot of Pretty Green, Adidas, Lyle and Scott and H&M, his favourite jeans are nudie and Levi but he wears Primark ones too.

My BIL's both mostly wear Abercrombie, Hollister and Armani.

CrazyOldBagLady · 27/12/2020 16:49

I got my husband a bunch of stuff from Zalando that he is really happy with. He shops in H&M for basics and used to go to Debenhams for shirts and jeans. I also recently ordered some Tshirts from www.kaft.com that are a little different.

mbosnz · 27/12/2020 16:50

Mine is mainly John Lewis,, with a spot of Superdry and M&S, and the odd bit of Ralph Lauren thrown in (outlet villages are great for this!).
