What’s in the blue ones? We tend to get heroes and celebrations nowadays so I have forgotten what some of the quality street ones are

QuestionableMouse · 02/01/2021 22:49

Blue quality street are coconut I think.

Silkiechickscat · 02/01/2021 22:50

I just had to Google the blue ones and those get left to last here as well along with the pink. Green triangle goes first. I love the strawberry and orange creams but others don't and sometimes you have to be strategic about what you pick so if you want any green triangles you need to go for those first.

Having a cup of tea and had a iced doughnut.

QuestionableMouse · 02/01/2021 22:51

Or maybe caramel filled? Both are blue iirc.

I always leave the toffee pennies because I'm fond of my teeth 😂

soddingkitten · 02/01/2021 22:58

Yes, blue are coconut and green are pralines.

I love the strawberry and orange creams but others don't and sometimes you have to be strategic about what you pick so if you want any green triangles you need to go for those first.

Well met, fellow traveller! Another selection box tactician here. 👏

Sodding was tentatively testing the oil painting (canvas) above the mantelpiece as a climbing surface this evening. 😫

EggNogPegg · 02/01/2021 23:01

Welcome @QuestionableMouse. I recognise your name too.

I'll take the orange ones, but you can keep the strawberry @soddingkitten

I ventured into another thread tonight where I learned that in some ovens you can remove the inside glass panel for cleaning. I discovered that mine is one such oven and I was so excited about this that I actually cleaned the whole oven. I confess that the glass was filthy because I was always paranoid I was going to snap the door hinges by leaning on it to scrub it. Laying it on the kitchen surface meant that I could scrub away, and as a result of the extra pressure, the grind came off easily. I put the racks and the extractor hood panels in the dishwasher, so the whole thing is sparkling now. It's a shame the bulb went this week as you can't get the full shiny effect without it.

I am more invested in this talk of hair zapping than I'd like to admit. I do pluck the chin ones, but no-one warned me about nipple ones possibly an overshare

Sunbird24 · 02/01/2021 23:05

I don’t think anyone warns anyone about nipple hairs @EggNogPegg, it seems to be one of those things you get left to discover the hard way! 😳

I also like the orange & strawberry creams. I even liked the coffee creams until they stopped doing them.

Nydj · 02/01/2021 23:08

Oh I like coconut ones and caramel ones so would happily eat them but as others have said, I would be strategic about when I selected them.

Silkiechickscat · 02/01/2021 23:11

I've never been able to eat coffee chocolates since a traumatic experience sampling a coffee chocolate in East Berlin around 1990 on our school trip.

QuestionableMouse · 02/01/2021 23:12

I'm gladly hair free on my nipples but there's loads of the buggers on my chin. They're dark and I'm quite pale so I'm hoping it'll work.

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07M6DPJ2K?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 is the one I bought.

EggNogPegg · 02/01/2021 23:13

I liked the coffee creams too. I hate coffee, but the chocolate was fine by me.
@Silkiechickscat, talking through trauma helps you know nosy

QuestionableMouse · 02/01/2021 23:14

Coffee revels are my favourite. I'd eat a bag if just them. I always get loads of raisins though 🤨🤷🏻‍♀️

soddingkitten · 02/01/2021 23:15

QuestionableMouse You have a beautiful cat. I forgot to say earlier.

QuestionableMouse · 02/01/2021 23:20

Thank you. I adore her and she's spoilt rotten 😂

MissConductUS · 03/01/2021 00:29

@Nydj - well done on obtaining your bird feeder. It sounds very similar to mine. I didn't know that they made something to catch the spilled food. In my case, the chipmunks and squirrels remove it for us.

Your post was moderately exciting but within one standard deviation of perfectly mundane, therefore acceptable under the guidelines. Smile

The roast chicken was a triumph. DS made herb butter and used that to season it inside and out.

We have a bag of Lindt chocolate truffles, and no one likes the white chocolate ones.

@QuestionableMouse - according to cat rescue organizations here, black cats are the hardest to adopt out. I think it's the superstition about them. My first was also very opinionated, and the second was just a charming girl. I've had a google on County Durham, and it does look lovely. I think you're the farthest north of anyone who's revealed their approximate location so far.

I have done something to my back and lying in bed in agony. The annoying thing is I only did normal things so goodness knows what I did to trigger it. I cant even turn over in bed with out sharp pain across my lumber area. 😡😕🙄 second time I have done this in three weeks. Luckily last one only lasted three days.

QuestionableMouse · 03/01/2021 01:48

There's a few of us up this way, I think. I absolutely love it. Did you see High Force?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 03/01/2021 03:13

Hi @QuestionableMouse I recognise you too I think. I missed your cat photo but I'm sure she's adorable!

Lots of chocolate box strategists on this thread. It's a very important job.

I have come to bed relatively early because I want to get up early tomorrow and enjoy the last day before everyone returns to work and school. "School" here being virtual again until 25 January and DH working in the basement, so not altogether different from the last 2 weeks... I have to ramp up my job search again. New Years resolutions are to eat less, move more, find more time for reading and to find a bloody job.

cigsoffofthefloor · 03/01/2021 03:16

i'm really looking forward to my breakfast tomorrow.
croissant with cream cheese and smoked salmon.

and then i'm getting those new mcdonald's katsu chicken nuggets.

...and probably having homemade peanut butter cookies for dinner.

mathanxiety · 03/01/2021 04:44

Until about 4 o'clock I had been labouring under the misapprehension that today was Sunday. I am quietly pleased that I was wrong.

QuestionableMouse · 03/01/2021 06:39

I tend to dip in and out of these threads depending on how busy I am. Thank you, she's not long woke me up demanding food 🙄😂😂

Sunbird24 · 03/01/2021 06:46

Morning!
I haven’t actually slept tonight, back in work in the morning though so now got to try and power through the day for a sensible bedtime. Might be very glad of the new Nespresso...

Champagneforeveryone · 03/01/2021 07:35

Ouch sunbird Sad
As I've got older the lack of sleep is an utter killer for me. DH and I had a bit of a scare a couple of years ago when we (despite all the odds) thought I may be pregnant. The idea of returning to the sleep deprivation of the newborn stage made me feel seriously unwell. I was disproportionately delighted when it turned out I was merely peri menopausal and could continue to sleep like Rip Van Winkle Grin

Spudlet · 03/01/2021 07:57

Ouch @Sunbird24. Hope you’re ok! I find a really hot shower helps me on sleep deprived days, at least for a bit. Hope you catch up tonight. I had a period of complete sleeplessness the year before last and it was awful - although it’s also the reason I started running. Running saved my life, honestly.

If insomnia is something you struggle with, I also found this really helpful. www.supersleepyoga.com/super-sleep-series-myths-video/

DS stealthed me this morning - on days off DH and I take it in turns to lie in, and I’m on duty today. We have white noise going while we sleep, so I turned it down and could hear no DS rustling. I didn’t want to get up as occasionally he bowls us a googly and has a lie in himself, and I thought today might be the day... two minutes later he was bursting through the bedroom door like a small, pyjama-clad rhinoceros 🙈 I nearly had a heart attack Grin DH is apparently part bat and can always tell when he’s awake: I never can (on the other hand I did pretty much all the baby waking up, so maybe this is just payback).

Spudlet · 03/01/2021 08:04

I must also share a DS-ism from the other day... you see, like many small children and especially those with ASD, DS has some issues with getting to the loo in time. We are working on them with a proper routine and a star chart and things, but the odd accident does happen and we are also trying to teach him to realise himself when he needs to go. Consequently, whenever he farts we always ask him if he needs to go and whether he thinks it would be a good idea to try.

So the other day I’m sitting on the sofa, DS is in a blanket fort behind the sofa, and DH is in the kitchen. DH does what can only be described as a window rattler Shock and DS pipes up with ‘Mummy! Do you need a poo?’ ShockConfusedGrinGrin Framed, I was!

He also confused me greatly yesterday by finding a stray set of reindeer antlers that escaped the clear up, coming up behind me with them and demanding ‘Mummy, put your ankles on your head!’ I mean I do practice yoga on occasion, but definitely not enough for that Grin
