I love keeping tree and lights up, just want to sort everything else out. I get big ideas of using all my candles, starting a bulletin journal etc!

I have ordered some storage boxes to pick up today . One of my favourite things is filling in new diaries and Calendar but not much to write in yet sadly.

I'm itching to get to the dump.

flowerycurtain · 27/12/2020 07:31

Me! Today's task is to find a nice journal and Bible reading book to start.

Then I might splurge on some bathroom store age!

ILoveAnOwl · 27/12/2020 07:35

We had a big clear out last night. 3 bags of toys for charity, 1 bag for regifting and 1 for the bin. Car loaded ready for a tip run. Hurrah!

BearandaSpare · 27/12/2020 07:35

We still have to book slots at our tip so I’ve got one for Wednesday. I’m looking forward to it far more than I should be 😂

ElfieElfington · 27/12/2020 07:37

My office is a bit of a tip, it was a spare room before I started to WFH and with Christmas it's ended up full of decorations boxes, wrapping paper etc. Needs a good clear out before I start back at work.

DD is going to her Dad's later and I'm getting straight in her room as soon as she's gone, it was clean and tidy before she finished for Christmas !!!!

IsadoraDuncanDonuts · 27/12/2020 07:40

Yes, this is also me! My New Year’s Resolutions always want to start about now.

I’m thinking of giving extra Christmas chocolates to the food bank. Do you think they will want them?

FollowThatStarTonight · 27/12/2020 07:40

Yikes you're all very organised. We've only just finished unwrapping presents and they're all waiting to be put away still. I'll probably be finding homes for things for the next few days.

We have booked the tip for today but only for cardboard.

Thelikelylass · 27/12/2020 07:46

We did all this during lockdown - goddam it feels good knowing that when we put the tree back in the loft it has its own bag and baubles box and wrapping paper bag and shit. I almost feel like there is nothing to do except lie in bed and eat chocolates.

YourWurstNightmare · 27/12/2020 07:56

Yep, Ive already done a spring clean of the kitchen, cleared out all the cupboards, wiped down, cleaned the fridge, checked expiry dates and restocked.

The junk-filled wardrobe is next!

userxx · 27/12/2020 08:04

Yep, waiting for lazy arse to get out of bed so I can start on the bedroom. I'm got 5 days off work and I'm going to blitz the house!!

Where do people live where you've got to book a tip visit?

KlausIsMyProphet · 27/12/2020 08:11

I always use this week as a transition period - I love using it to set myself up for new year resolutions.

Definitely using the next few days to a deep clean, DIY audit and get some meal planning done.

Where do people live where you've got to book a tip visit?

Virtually everywhere in tier 3 and 4

It’s the equivalent of booking a trip to Alton Towers for us in Tier 4.
landoshalo · 27/12/2020 08:27

Yes, I need to tackle our garage as it's full to the rafters with stored crap.

RollOnForever · 27/12/2020 08:29

We're in Scotland and booking is essential to visit the tip (or the dump as we call it here!). We're also restricted on what we can take and can only go with one person in the car, so I've had 2 old, extremely heavy radiators in my garden since they were replaced on 23rd March... Considering festive lights for them as they seem to be a permanent feature now.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/12/2020 08:30

Oh god yeah. Even more so this year as we have no plans now except returning to school! I may have done a little ikea order yesterday to order a kallax for my one sons room and a wardrobe for the other one's room, and I am going to Asda today or tomorrow for some storage boxes with lids so I can have a really big sort out and stick a load of bundles on to eBay. It's one of my favourite things to do!

Our loft desperately needs tidied too while it's empty of Christmas decorations so I'll be doing that as well.

Ragwort · 27/12/2020 08:35

Isadora yes, most Food Banks will be happy to accept unwanted (& obviously unopened) boxes of chocolates, biscuits etc.

I am involved with our local Food Bank and after every Christmas we get inundated with unwanted Hamper gifts etc . Fortnum and Mason foie gras anyone? Grin

Rowgtfc72 · 27/12/2020 09:02

Yup.
Dh, who isn't known for his cleaning skills, has declared we are cleaning the house from loft to bottom including his garage and my shed!

This will certainly be interesting as the loft is full of car stuff and the garage is that rammed you couldn't get a car in it!

We're back at work tomorrow and dont get new year off so not sure when hes going to find the time!

LeonoraFlorence · 27/12/2020 09:09

I feel like that this year! Normally it’s tied in with New Year but itching to get all Xmas gifts sorted and away. I have 6 DDs though who have mountains of things to find a home for 😩

tiredqueen · 27/12/2020 09:18

Yes!!! The toys will be sorted this week and the Xmas decorations will be coming down today/tomorrow 😁😁. I like to have my house in good shape for new year!

CatrinVennastin · 27/12/2020 09:20

@RosieLemonade 😂😂😂

So true!

mynameiscalypso · 27/12/2020 09:21

100%. I was looking round our bedroom last night planning all the sorting out I was going to do - I find the planning the best bit...
