Yes, I'm 31 years old. No, I don't have kids to play with me. But... I'm SO excited!

Anyone got any good game recommendations? I don't really know where to start with my foray into gaming....

Xmas Grin

Animal crossing is a fave here - enjoy 😊

KenAdams · 26/12/2020 12:52

Animal Crossing!

Horehound · 26/12/2020 12:55

I got one w few months ago albeit not played much due to having a baby.
I have downloaded Lego Harry potter because I've played other Lego games like Indiana Jones and batman etc and loved them so got high hopes for this

DoTheNextRightThing · 26/12/2020 12:56

Good for you!! I have one and only play Animal Crossing on it - although it now has Among Us so I will be playing that too Smile Zelda: Breath of the Wild is really popular. Have a look online and see what games sound like something you would enjoy Smile

MummytoCSJH · 26/12/2020 12:57

Yy to Animal Crossing (but it can get a bit samey eventually) and Zelda BOTW. Amazing game. We also really enjoy the Mario games.

HerNameIsIncontinentiaButtocks · 26/12/2020 12:57

Also Animal Crossing! It is full of loveliness, if you like a gentle time spent designing your home island and chatting with simulated friends.

If you like big adventures with a wide world and a thousand things to do, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

If you'd like offbeat stories, What Remains of Edith Finch.

If you'd like quicky arcade games, Mr Driller.

If you'd like quirky beat'em'ups with a story, Hades.

If you'd like arcade adventure and jumping around a lot, Mario Odyssey.

In fact I'd just go right ahead and buy all of those to find out what you do like.

imnotalpharius · 26/12/2020 12:58

Breath of the Wild is amazing, it's a really good game and very beautiful. If you like retro stuff the Sega classics is good. About 50 games including sonic, golden axe etc

Cheesefootballfan · 26/12/2020 13:04

Ahhh amazing guys. I'm so excited!

Animal Crossing and Mario All Stars on order. I really like the sound of Breath of the Wild!

Anyone tried Untitled Goose Game?

OP posts:
ProbablyFault · 26/12/2020 13:18

Yes, it's a good fun puzzle game. Also Tetris / Puoy Puoy 🙂. My kid plays Animal Crossing, I'm not sure I could be bothered 🙈.

Dazedandconfused10 · 26/12/2020 13:19

Untitled goose game is pretty fun. I'd recommend cuphead too

peppermintteadrinker · 26/12/2020 13:23

I love untitled goose game. There are a lot of 'smaller' games in the store. Breath of the wild is awesome but is one that takes ages and costs 40 quid so you get what you pay for. I love indie games too. Gris is beautiful.

Biglumpycustard · 26/12/2020 13:24

I got one last month, my fave games are Animal Crossing & splatoon 2.

peppermintteadrinker · 26/12/2020 13:24

@HerNameIsIncontinentiaButtocks Edith Finch is wonderful

IRememberMySpaceBabe · 26/12/2020 13:28

Congrats OP! We got one last Christmas and DH and I love playing it of an evening.

We’ve enjoyed:

  • Mario Odyssey
  • Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • Untitled Goose Game
  • Super Mario Bros Deluxe
  • Mario Kart
  • Untitled Golf Game is fun too

DH got me Animal Crossing New Horizons for Christmas, I can’t wait to try that. I’m actually tempted to get myself a Switch Lite to play just for me, as our Switch is a family one and always stays downstairs

Breathmiller · 26/12/2020 13:28

Our kids just bought one too with their Christmas money. I don't do games usually but I'm quite looking forward to this one.
We got Zelda, minecraft and super smash bros.
I might have a shot of zelda actually which made everyone laugh as I am a bit of a dinosaur with these things.

IRememberMySpaceBabe · 26/12/2020 13:30

what am I on about - it’s not called Untitled Golf Game, it’s called What the Golf! D’oh

WhereverIGoddamnLike · 26/12/2020 13:31

Immortal Fenyx Rising.
Pokemon

If you really want to embrace being a kid, then Starlink plus all the ship toys. Its good fun and tou get starship toys.

HermannlovesPauline · 26/12/2020 13:35

Two point hospital is basically theme hospital from the 90s

Is there anything like the sims?

LaurieFairyCake · 26/12/2020 13:38

We started Animal Crossing 2 days ago

So far all we've been able to do is pick up branches and eat pears

Why can't I push that cunt who looks like a bird in the river Angry

Disclaimer/ no children here, it's for DH and I after my sister aged 48 said it was fun Hmm

Seriously WHAT THE FUCK

2nd disclaimer - I've NEVER played computer games

zzzebra · 26/12/2020 13:44

Another vote for Two Point Hospital, which is basically theme hospital

Lorelaithe1st · 26/12/2020 13:45

I love two point hospital and Overcooked 2 (it does cause some arguments in my house though Grin)

Midnightstar76 · 26/12/2020 13:51

We are playing it now, DH, eldest daughter and me.

We have started Zelda breath of the wild and are now playing Super Mario Oddesey.

Can’t get off it , that’s us for the afternoon!

We also have Goosebumps not played it yet though too busy with the other two.

Definately going to get Mario carts for it to have a four player game. Great how you can have it through your tele as well!

Enjoy your gaming OP😁

MrsMomoa · 26/12/2020 13:54

DanNickBen · 26/12/2020 13:55
