Slippers - with socks or without.

Either. Socks during the day when I am dressed. Without socks in the evening or morning when I am in my pyjamas.

With socks, but then I am only without socks if in the bath or changing.
I have really thin holey ones for hot weather too (pelerine?). I just can't be comfortable with bare feet.

I think I only own 2 or 3 pairs of socks.

Blimey, if it's my lovely fluffy ones with arch support then without as they're warm enough, if it's my slipper clogs usually without due to those being my after-shower slippers and they get washed regularly. If it's my Miffy slippers usually with as they are the thin type which are kind of the same shape as trainer socks. If it's my penguin pumps then without as they are huge and warm enough without. I think that accounts for all of my current pairs 🤔 Bloody love slippers 😹

Otherwise your foot sweats into the slipper which is far more of a pain to wash/clean than a sock

Not in my house. I never wore slippers till I had kids. The point of slippers for me is not to hurt my feet on all the fucking Lego or tiny bits of plastic crap from blind bags/Blume dolls/hatchimals etc or stand on the nails poking thru the threadbare carpet the misers who we bought our house from laid with no underlay. 😡

Both, I don't put socks on until I need to leave the house so it's bare feet until then (I always go out at some point), but once I've got socks on I keep them on until bedtime so it's with for the rest of the day.

I have these, they're lovely and don't smell. They also wash really well.

I dislike wearing socks in general though and only really where them when really cold.

Without. I hate socks. And shoes. I'd much rather be barefoot 24/7 but am also pretty stingy with heating so slippers it is. I do worry about them getting smelly though. Just got some new ones as presents today and I'm not sure whether I can put them in the washing machine... will have to investigate!

I've never heard of slippers getting smelly until this thread, and we're a shoes off household so I wear slippers all the time indoors

Bare feet, no slippers, when it’s hot. But in reality it’s nearly never so hot.

I had microwaveable slippers about 10 years ago. It said on the packaging not to wear them without socks as they can't be washed. Then I spilt something all over one of them so had to wash it. It survived. Then we had a mouse problem and one if them got chewed
TBH they were fucking uncomfortable anyway. You can't walk around in them so only any use if you can sit around and have someone to serve you drinks and snacks

Ugg slippers and never stink. We working from home I've worn them all day, every day for months now.

I wear fur lined slipper boots, as I live in a chilly house, so no need to wear socks with them. But I have a couple of pairs of quite thick fleeced lined colourful Nordic type long socks, to wear if I feel like a change in footwear.

Depends if you have stinky sweaty feet - I do, DH doesn't. I pretty much always wear socks with my slippers. Even then I wash them from time to time too. DH never needs to.

With, but only because my feet are always freezing. What are these microwavable slippers you speak of?

I was told as a child that if I wore slippers or any shoes (except sandals) without socks, my feet would fall off. So now, I like to put my feet in as much danger as I can! I regularly wear these bad boys without socks.

I hesitate to tell all of you this after your considered opinions but I can't even get the stupid things on! I am therefore ending my brief relationship with slippers and reverting to my lifelong slipperless state :).
