... I'm sat here drinking prosecco waiting for our Indian takeaway to be delivered. No stress, everyone happy.

I know most people love a Christmas dinner but my God, I prefer this kind of Christmas Day 😀

I'm picking up a Indian takeaway too, usually eat in but decided to stay at home this year.

Chilver · 25/12/2020 15:11

Fabulous! Too much pressure these days to do an ‘Insta’ Christmas!

SecretWitch · 25/12/2020 15:12

We are having a Chinese in. We do a big dinner on New Year’s eve when all the pressure is off.

elp30 · 25/12/2020 15:13

Nice!

I was supposed to have had a Thai takeaway today but this year they decided to close for Christmas Eve and Day. I was not impressed.

I am having tandoori chicken cooked on the barbecue today.

:)

Enjoy your takeaway and Merry Christmas!

MerlotChiantiMontepulicano · 25/12/2020 15:13

Dh and I have hoping to have a Chinese tonight! No turkey here today! We had bacon sandwiches for lunch.

Elieza · 25/12/2020 15:20

Carry out from the local eatery here too. And why not Grin

rubydoobydoo · 25/12/2020 15:22

I'm at work and getting a kebab when I finish! Xmas Grin

Gingernaut · 25/12/2020 15:24

I'm waiting for Pam Ann to start her show 'Christmas Cunt'

Iheartmysmart · 25/12/2020 15:24

Nice, lucky you. We’ve just had traditional Christmas dinner - by the time I’ve cooked it I really don’t want to eat it!

fairydustandpixies · 25/12/2020 15:25

I had a weight watchers microwave meal for my lunch - the dog licked the plastic tray it was in afterwards so we're both happy! 😂

ImRealHonest · 25/12/2020 15:26

I got full Christmas dinner takeaway. Part of me wishes I’d just got curry, but leftover pie for the next few days is worth it

gerbo · 25/12/2020 15:28

About to go cook steak and homemade chips. We had a full on roast chicken dinner yesterday, I love the fact my heavy cooking is done by xmas day! Did the same last year and it's liberating. No more xmas day hard work for me! Love a roast, but to be honest it's a good 3 hours out of the day before you even sit down!

gerbo · 25/12/2020 15:29

Enjoy the Indian, OP! Merry Christmas.

grassisjeweled · 25/12/2020 15:29

Fair play 🥂

percheron67 · 25/12/2020 15:30

Gingernaut ?

YouBoughtMeAWall · 25/12/2020 15:30

When my children are grown and flown this is how I plan to spend Xmas too. No fuss. Please myself. Bliss.

GabsAlot · 25/12/2020 15:32

good on you enjoy

Christmasfairy2020 · 25/12/2020 15:32

I'm.cooking but having at 4pm as opposed to 2pm and it's so much nicer and less stressful

jessstan1 · 25/12/2020 15:32

Good for you! I'm enjoying being on my own today too, I've been very unwell as has my son, only just getting my appetite back. I had poached egg on toast which was lovely and cannot imagine wanting any more today unless I have soup. Drinking plenty of fluids of course (not alcohol). I hope I am OK tomorrow, we are 'doing Christmas' over the weekend. I feel so much better than I did a few days ago, that is joyful in itself!

Xerochrysum · 25/12/2020 15:33

We really don't do proper Christmas every year, since it's only 3 of us. This year, I made the Yule Log. And DH is cooking Turkey now. Haven't had turkey for Christmas since ds was born, so looking forward to it.

Katjolo · 25/12/2020 15:33

Enjoy!

QueenPawPaws · 25/12/2020 15:39

Same here

We have been grazing at chinese for an hour and a half. Kid is happy playing with his play mobile, hasn't even looked at a screen. Baby has had full naps so in a lovely mood. Going to make them turkey dinosaurs and potato waffles for tea.

Honestly never going back to christmas day as it was

MrsJBaptiste · 25/12/2020 15:45

This sounds like a very stress-free thread 😁

If I'm going to be honest, the youngest is actually having a pizza (the shame) but hey, my reasoning is that we should eat what we like on Christmas Day not what we are told we should eat.

My mum and MIL are appalled though... 😅

MiddleClassMother · 25/12/2020 15:47

I would love to do this but instead I'm watching DH slave over the dinner (he refuses help)
Christmas is so stressful for no reason
