Anyone else realised they have forgotten something?

I forgot to buy the Gammon DC wanted as they are not too keen on turkey.

Cooking oil - fingers crossed I have enough for the roast potatoes 🤞🏻

Annoy · 25/12/2020 01:01

We have creaky floorboards too!

My fridge is also shit and freezes stuff... I have frozen carrots which will go soggy when thawed!

AdoraBell · 25/12/2020 01:01

PetertheWalrus · 25/12/2020 01:07

Early Xmas morning and have just found nephew's present (he's 15) wrapped, stamped and un-posted. He lives 104 miles away. Oh shit! Apologetic emails being composed. Xmas Confused

BeBesideTheSea · 25/12/2020 01:09

I had forgotten to put the chocolate coins in DS’ stocking, but a thread on here reminded me and I got up and sneaked them in!

RainbowRaine · 25/12/2020 01:13

@BeBesideTheSea Bollocks! now that's two things I have forgotten

Well I thought I had forgotten turkey size foil, went to the larder to discover I am more organised than even I think I am. Grin

Habdab · 25/12/2020 01:16

@BeBesideTheSea oh no! I haven't done those either and I can't remember where I put them. It's DS favourite part too. Damn!

Kirstymonkey3 · 25/12/2020 01:16

Now you see my one and only is 19 and that comment totally passed me by, enjoy your little ones in the morning, I am deeply envious.
EnglishRose1320 · 25/12/2020 01:19

Crackers!
I stupidly bought make your own kits and found tiny gifts to suit all the family, but have I actually made them, or even know where they are, um that would be a no.
The house is actually quite tidy and organised as well, so they may possibly be in the roof or garage

GlummyMcGlummerson · 25/12/2020 01:19

To put sage in the stuffing.

Going to my aunty's for Xmas lunch and I had one fucking job and that job is now gonna taste bland as hell. The stuffings been in a square baking tray in the fridge since the 23rd ready to just bang in her oven, does anyone know if I take it out can I add sage and stuff it back in the tray or will it taste weird or be a funny shape?

GingerScallop · 25/12/2020 01:40

Mulled wine. And all shops near us are out of stock. So will try n make with spices we have and tangerines!

TheSilveryPussycat · 25/12/2020 01:55

I think you could do that with the stuffing, Glummy

The thing I've forgotten is stuffing! No problem as it's only me, but might try to fashion something based on chestnuts, sausage meat and breadcrumbs.

MrsTerryPratchett · 25/12/2020 02:27

I looked like a boss delivering cousins' presents Xmas eve. Actually forgot until now.

WankPuffins · 25/12/2020 02:50

To leave out food for Santa!

Baby just woke up for a feed and I had a sudden realisation.

We had to get the 6 year old upstairs watching a film with me from 6pm as Dh had to build the hideously complicated dolls house.

That was fine - she was so excited to have an evening with me with snacks and films. But we totally forgot about Santa.

Just been down stairs to leave half a mince pie abs a carrot on a plate, I'll tell her we left them out for her once she'd gone to bed.

Graphista · 25/12/2020 03:25

Every year

Every

Single

Year

I forget SOMETHING

I've decided it's now a tradition

This year - mince pies. I do however have THREE Boxes of stuffing and I have no idea why

Housebound and so cant just nip out and get some but I've survived over 20 years of forgetting SOMETHING I'll survive this too.

The worst year was Alan Keys forgotten meaning couldn't build dds main gift - we survived

@TheSilveryPussycat I'm sure that would work have you any herbs in?

bettxmascake · 25/12/2020 03:27

That I forgot to raise a glass to my dad on Xmas eve Sad

WildCherryBlossom · 25/12/2020 03:27

I've just realised I lost a present. A pair of gloves. I think they may have been chucked out with the packaging, they were part of a click and collect order. I checked they were there when I picked it up but put them to one side to wrap later. Aaargh. Going to have to go through the bins.

WildCherryBlossom · 25/12/2020 03:29

@bettxmascake sorry about your dad. Raise a glass to him on Christmas Day instead!WineThanksThanksThanks

NoSleepTil · 25/12/2020 03:33

We’ve majorly scaled back Christmas this year, but I forgot to buy tonic water, and that feels like a massive fail

caringcarer · 25/12/2020 03:46

DH have been up wrapping and packing stockings for 2 adult DC who live at home and foster son and each other. Only I can't find most of stuff for 1 son stocking. I know I bought it and stashed it away somewhere..... Oh shit I hope he is not upset tomorrow morning when his brother gets loads and he gets some shower gel, chocolate and new pants. I am afraid I will wand up foster son who is a light sleeper if I turn entire bedroom upside down. Perhaps I will set alarm for 6 and look again then.
