DS brought a bell home from school on the last day with a bloody stupid poem about it for this purpose. Also a packet of glittery "reindeer food" which will NOT be thrown over the lawn

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 24/12/2020 17:46

I love the original write up though 'everyone will come outside'... not sure everyone will..

Plussizejumpsuit · 24/12/2020 17:47

I dint know what this is. Off to Google...

nosswith · 24/12/2020 17:48

Listening and watching carols from Kings College Chapel on BBC2. Wouldn't do it any way out of kindness to neighbours with young baby who have been very considerate.

Plexie · 24/12/2020 17:48

12 minutes to go!

Snapcat · 24/12/2020 17:49

My bells are ready and waiting to be jingled! Dtwins will love it.

MPolsted · 24/12/2020 17:50

We will be jingling with joy

squashyhat · 24/12/2020 17:56

Our village church bellringers will be doing it, but that's proper campanology so I'm quite looking forward to hearing it. Nails in a jar? Give me strength.

soundsystem · 24/12/2020 17:57

Mine are already in their PJs - such is their desire for it to be Christmas morning - so seems a bit mean to shove them outside now Grin

shhsecretsquirrel · 24/12/2020 18:00

Ah, it's cute, my sons nursery sent a little poem and bell... sweet. But he won't give a shit and we have no neighbours and it's cold so... grinch it is Envy

JamieLeesCurtains · 24/12/2020 18:00

I'm just going to stick head out of the window ...

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 24/12/2020 18:00

17days · 24/12/2020 18:01

Never heard anything about this and I can't hear any bells.

Trauchled · 24/12/2020 18:02

No. I don’t own a bell

TheDaydreamBelievers · 24/12/2020 18:02

No bells here (Glasgow west end)

JamieLeesCurtains · 24/12/2020 18:03

I can hear bells! Very sweet. No pans or horns thank goodness.

Tyranttoddler · 24/12/2020 18:05

Sounded so sweet

PicsInRed · 24/12/2020 18:06

I think we should ring a bell for all those stuck amongst squabbling family members and horrible in laws, knee deep in peeled parsnip and dirty pans.

The delight of spending Christmas alone is peace and quiet. Why the fuck would you ruin that for the "lonesome" 😂 with clanging bells? I can just picture the eager faces at the door now. I'll bet there are Santa hats. Hides

FurForksSake · 24/12/2020 18:06

My kids have been out and sang Jingle Bells afterwards, they enjoyed it.

Rae36 · 24/12/2020 18:07

No from us. I can't be arsed. I'm done with fake cheeriness. But we did stick our heads out and go 'oh that's nice' when we heard a couple of faint rings.

Retiremental · 24/12/2020 18:11

Aww well it was lovely. My neighbours kids were so excited Xmas Grin Lovely moment Xmas Grin

No. Dc are eating dinner. Too cold out there .

SmileyClare · 24/12/2020 18:16

I find it a bit toe curling actually that so many people are desperate to think of the new DOORSTEP THING that will go viral on Facebook. It's a bit Look at me, I care more and I'm doing it publicly and more loudly than you. Thanks for all your lovely comments, I just care so much I had to do this

It got silly after Clap for the NHS. We had Lets dance on our doorsteps (Reach for the Stars was the suggested track Hmm) a minute silence on our doorsteps, play instruments on our doorsteps, now bells. Most of them fail to gain popularity.

MaryLeeOnHigh · 24/12/2020 18:17

People in our road had a socially distanced doorstep Christmas Eve drink at 6, but no bells at all.

GingerbreadPlease · 24/12/2020 18:19

Our 4 year old neighbour knocked on our door to check if we were doing the jingle, glad we got a bell, lots of people in our street were out, the kids loved it.
