Anyone else not had a single mince pie (yet) this Christmas

It occurred to me that I haven't had a mince pie this Christmas!

Normally I'd be in the office where you can't move for the things, and I'd have got some in for my parents who usually visit. Working from home and with no visitors to the house, no mince pies have crossed my path. I can't say I have missed them much.

Anyone else not had a mince pie - or not had anything else you normally eat/drink without thinking at Christmas?

fairydustandpixies · 24/12/2020 07:53

No mince pies here either!

WankPuffins · 24/12/2020 07:53

No, but only because I can't stand them!

I'll eat them if I Jimmy off the top and scoop out the filling. Dh looks at me like I'm the devil.

SantasBritchesSpelleas · 24/12/2020 07:55

No, but only because I can't stand them!

I don't really like them that much, but I'm terrible for eating rubbish just because it's there Xmas Blush.

NO me neither

We have however been laying into the wine with such enthusiasm we’ve had to top up twice

Ha ha! My 'Christmas' Amaretto bought in late November has already been drunk. I refuse to buy myself any more.

Me! Have totally abstained despite daily offers.
Halo might slip tonight though!

AdultHumanFemale · 24/12/2020 08:00

No. I have 12 sitting in the cupboard and brandy butter in the fridge. But can't find time to actually sit down to eat the damn things.

byvirtue · 24/12/2020 08:03

No mince pies here. They are a social Christmas food for me. People bring them to the office, have them at parties and events. Bit sad there’s been zero opportunity for one, I never buy them myself.

Planet42 · 24/12/2020 08:05

No mince pies. But already opened cheese and crackers.

Fizbosshoes · 24/12/2020 08:11

I'm not a huge fan but yes normally I would have had one at a Carol service or "out" at something christmassy. I made some yday because it's kind of the law to have 1.Grin

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 24/12/2020 08:12

Nope, because I hate them. No Christmas cake or pudding this year either. But I’ve a fuckton of cheese to be eaten from tomorrow!

dementedma · 24/12/2020 08:15

God, I've had tons!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/12/2020 08:16

Me neither, I went sugar, grain and dairy free in July so not only no mince pies but nothing 'Christmassy' at all really.

zzizz · 24/12/2020 08:19

No ... I really fancy one but DH wouldn't eat any, so the rest would be wasted.

Treeerex · 24/12/2020 08:19

Nope. But I can't stand the bloody things.

I have been quite restrained this Christmas. Usually we are cracking open the Baileys and sweets on December 1st. Then having to top up again. I didn't even buy any cheese because I just felt so 'meh' about it all. After last weekend, I did panic buy a load of cheese, half of which has already gone. The baileys and sweets got cracked open too. Thankfully we have another 3 bottles, thanks to DHs organisation skills

zzizz · 24/12/2020 08:20

But then I'm okay with it. This year's Christmas is a blip. Everything is weird and eating a solitary mince pie on my own in the flat isn't quite the same as an office bring-and-share thing!

kowari · 24/12/2020 08:20

Most Christmas treats I just want the occasional one of, and DS won't eat them, so I don't buy them.

merryhollybright · 24/12/2020 08:21

I made mince pie brownies for a change this year. Nice for a change :)

SpeckledyHen · 24/12/2020 08:22

Nope . Revolting sweet things 🤮

Elle200 · 24/12/2020 08:22

Not a single mince pies has passed these lips, but I have eaten half a Christmas pud, swimming in cream. Tis the season and all that.....

InTheseUncertainTimes · 24/12/2020 08:23

Not yet. I'm not a big fan of them. We have a pack bought, and will probably eat those tonight with some mulled wine.

Chemenger · 24/12/2020 08:24

I made some yesterday. Should get round to icing the cake today. We’re three days into our cocktail a day marathon. Mojito, sidecar and martini so far. And three days into the board game and cards tournament, thankfully we got monopoly out of the way last night.
