Anyone else not had a single mince pie (yet) this Christmas

It occurred to me that I haven't had a mince pie this Christmas!

Normally I'd be in the office where you can't move for the things, and I'd have got some in for my parents who usually visit. Working from home and with no visitors to the house, no mince pies have crossed my path. I can't say I have missed them much.

Anyone else not had a mince pie - or not had anything else you normally eat/drink without thinking at Christmas?

Me. Don’t like ‘em.

helloxhristmas · 24/12/2020 08:26

I haven't. Really dislike the things.

PaperMonster · 24/12/2020 08:27

No. I don’t eat them. I don’t dislike them but they make my blood sugars go too high.

I haven't, and I haven't bought or made any.
To be fair, I have been left with a 16 portion Xmas cake when I'm the only one who eats it. Also, a very large ration of smoked salmon when I'm the only one who eats it. And guess what - nobody else likes Stilton either. Stilton on toast anyone? Macaroni Stilton?
Anyone else with good taste in food, like myself, is under stay at home orders, so it's just little old me left dealing with the good stuff.

Yy LionLily. I've realised how much of my love of baking in "the old days" was partly because we could have a few slices or pieces, and then get rid of the rest in the office Grin

BarefootInTheMoonlitSnow · 24/12/2020 08:37

Opposite here, aside from mince-pies as soon as they are in the shops, we have ‘flies graveyards’ (DS loves baking/cooking) and Armagh Black Butter 😋

I am going to get some stollen today tho after reading this thread. I like it but only been visiting the one grocery shop this year so missed it from not being in Lidl!

BertieBotts · 24/12/2020 08:39

Me, but it's not unusual as I live abroad and they don't do them here. I do however have a jar of mincemeat and DC and I will bake some hopefully today!

We've been sharing at work as normal, socially distanced.

Not a single one. But I don’t like them. Stollen on the other hand ....

Sharing the love for stollen!

LionLily I've got a small Stilton to open tomorrow - like you, I'm the only fan in my family so hoping I will manage to get through it.
