Hit the big 40 and I would say for the last 12 months and onwards my body literally screams every hormonal change! Today it’s been a migraine I’m on day 13 of my 27 day regular cycle - my body is literally aching for sex - like my nether regions are pining for it - i can’t keep up with the clear discharge - my left ovary is playing up (probably the one ovulating) bar the bloody migraine my body is saying get pregnant now or it might never happen!

I don’t want to get pregnant and DH and I very careful cos we conceived first time with both kids. I just want my body to calm down - all day I’ve been like a raging dog on heat with a bad headache to boot

Isn't it a way of a woman's body screaming out for a baby before it's too late? I'm sure it's pretty common, like a 'this is your last chance !'

Can't wait to add this to the list of shit we have to go through as women! 😆

IdblowJonSnow · 23/12/2020 00:28

My body hasn't screamed for sex since I was last pregnant at age 38!

I do get the headaches though.

BashfulClam · 23/12/2020 00:36

Yes I also get chin hairs only at ovulation time. I have sore boobs and the discharge is nuts.

Yes discharge is like a swimming pool - boobs really hurt (wasn’t sure if it was DH being overly vigorous with his boob play (at my request)!

I think that’s it the body asking for a baby as it’s last chance saloon!

Chin hair under my chin for sure!!

Yep, me too. It coincided with lock down. I am like a dog on heat for a week a month. DP delighted. No headaches though but can tell which side I am ovulating from.

Itsabloodyeuphonium · 23/12/2020 09:08

Oh my gosh!! I hadn’t linked this to my cycle but yes this is me! Not quite 40. Dreading the surprise 3rd that I’ve seen happen to a few others!

GruffyLove · 23/12/2020 09:13

I track my cycle on fit bit and for the last couple of months when I feel like this - headaches - sore boobs - swimming pool discharge I always check what day I’m on.

I’m glad that it’s normal but I could I do without the migraine it really took it out of me yesterday.

lasttangoinscunthorpe · 23/12/2020 09:13

I'm the same.

Literally cannot get enough of DP. Discharge is like someone cracked an egg down there Xmas Grin I get bloated, sore boobs and really hormonal.

It has almost as much of an effect on my body as periods. Joy.

PoptartPoptart · 23/12/2020 10:27

Yes!
I track my cycle on an app and I literally tick off all the symptoms each month since hitting 40.
I’m like a dog on heat on heat for about a week, hideous ovulation pain on day 13 of my cycle, tender boobs a few days before I come on, crippling headache the day my period arrives for a couple of days.
It’s so annoying. Before I hit 40 I couldn’t have told you where I was in my cycle but now I can tell purely from my symptoms.

GruffyLove · 23/12/2020 11:15

@PoptartPoptart I can’t believe that’s identical day 13 is deffo my worst day too!

It must be our bodies trying to conceive one last time - although I am very horny I don’t feel I can risk protected sex even as I don’t want that surprise number 3!

I have always been like this when ovulating

About 18 months ago it stepped up for about 6 months (46/47 at the time) I think my body telling me your time is so very nearly up so get on with it.

Still a little like this and I still have regular periods and regular ovulation and symptoms but the drive to get pregnant is not quite there and definitely having other peri menopause symptoms

I’m quite sure I would still fall pregnant (won’t take the chance) not sure I would be able to carry full term

ureterr1blemuriel · 23/12/2020 13:53

I’m totally like this - have been for the last year and I’m nearly 40. I’ve said to DH that it’s my body shouting to get pregnant. I’m as regular as clockwork, get ovulation pains (& moods) and then a heavy & painful period as if I’m being punished. Also feel the hormone surge in my gland by my boob every month that lasts about a day as well as loads of discharge (sperm ladder as we call it 😆).

My body is playing tricks on my mind, I was debating a third this week. We have the space and money, what I don’t have is patience though and there is no way I can do the toddler years again. Unless it was an accident (& we are very careful) it won’t happen.

FoxyTheFox · 23/12/2020 14:36

This is me too, just about to turn 40 and has gradually started over the last year. I've also got the fun symptom of nausea on day 1-2 of my period, like a mild version of morning sickness and has that same sort of hollow feeling to it. I also get what my bestie calls "fanny flu" - intermittent hot flushes, tiredness, and shivers - in the run up to my period. Poor DH gets a week to ten days of me chasing him around the house then around a week where I feel like shouting at him for having the sheer audacity to exist.

GruffyLove · 23/12/2020 14:44

Yes yes yes to the nausea. Yes to the different type of person I am dependant on where I am.

My DH even has different names for me:
LovingGruffy
HateMeGruffy
I don’t give a shit gruffy

Also insomnia 1-2 days before period starts!!

What do we do to restore some balance to our bodies?

Just another thing to look forward to when over 40! 😫

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 23/12/2020 14:46

Happened to me too when I hit 41, now got a lovely 2yr old Blush

Xmas Grin
Quirrelsotherface · 23/12/2020 15:31

Yes to all of the above since hitting 40! Glad I'm not alone. Loving the increased sex drive, hate the insomnia and sore boobs.

DramaAlpaca · 23/12/2020 15:37

Sorry to put a dampener on you all, but enjoy it while you can ladies. It's your body's last hurrah before the perimenopause and all the delights that brings not Grin

HotelliFinlandia · 23/12/2020 15:44

I get some of these..plus a GIANT spot on my chin! This time it's was a double spot (as in two in almost the same place). If I don't burst it it turns into a giant white boil and if a burst it then it gets all red and scabby!

I'm actually thankful for face masks sometimes! 😂

HotelliFinlandia · 23/12/2020 15:45

(and just when the ovulation spit disappears, then the PMT-linked constipation starts, something I never had before).

TiredMary · 23/12/2020 15:46

My body has been having this end of fertility last hurrah since I was 39. Now 43 and it’s still going strong. I feel SO hormonal, horny and like my body is screaming ‘impregnate me!’. Absolutely do not want any more children, so we are extremely careful.

FoxyTheFox · 23/12/2020 16:12

DH got the snip and I'm so glad because otherwise I'd be trying to talk him into chancing it for one more child.

Get the constipation too.

Heart palpitations. Had all sort of tests including ECG, a scan, and a monitor to wear at home for 72 hours. My heart is absolutely fine, cholesterol absolutely fine, blood count absolutely fine, thyroid, liver, kidneys, etc all absolutely fine. GP asked me to keep a diary of when the palpitations happen and they happen exclusively in the 3-4 days before my period and sometimes 1-2 days before ovulation so she's concluded its hormonal.

I also have this impending sense of my own mortality. I almost died several years ago but I never connected it with the thought that I might actually die, I just trusted in the team dealing with the situation and it was a hairy few days but I pulled through. Now I have this thought that actually I am going to die. In my 20s all of my friends were getting married, in my 30s they were all having kids and/or getting divorced, now I'm entering my 40s its dawning on my what the next stage is of "all my friends are doing this".

I also find I've got far less patience for bullshit and far less need to people please which is a bonus.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 23/12/2020 16:20

I've had this for the last year or so, and I'm 35! The discharge is ridiculous, and I dream about sex during ovulation too.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 23/12/2020 16:22

Yes kicked in at around 42 ...If I had been in a relationship i would have had one last baby for sure, I was so broody
Now I'm like the worlds oldest teenager with greasy hair and spots
I'm 45 , still ovulating every month , it's very obvious and you can set your watch by it
