Please recommend me a thrilling and absorbing Netflix series?

Please.

I've seen the usual ones - Money Heist etc. Looking for something that is instantly absorbing and keeps me glued.

Any suggestions? Thanks

The first episode of The Queens gambit is all setup and not as gripping as the rest.

Mind hunter agree was marvellous.
I enjoyed Snowpiercer but it has had mixed reception.
Dear White People
Dead to me

Hope you find something

OA
Queens Gambit
Ozark
Offspring
Schitts Creek
The Crown
Madmen
Suits
Designated Survivor
House of Cards

fussychica · 23/12/2020 14:18

Currently watching How to get away with Murder. We tend not to watch more than 2 episodes of any series in one sitting but this is hard to resist.
Also watching
The Blacklist
Queens Gambit
Medici
The New Pope(bonkers)
My Brilliant Friend(Italian, subtitled)
And if you like subtitled stuff but fancy something light and amusing Call my Agent(French) fits the bill.

I really wanted to like Designated Survivor (love KS) but found it very lightweight with no real substance. Every episode had several crises that were neatly wrapped up by the end. Hannah Wells character was so unbelievable- literally no job at all she couldn't do although her wardrobe was amazing- and then in the last series when things started to pick up every other word was a profanity. Confused So I found it all a bit silly really.

But Arron (sp?) was very hot and nearly compensated for the above.

How to get away with murder would fit the bill - Draws you in with strange timelines and constant dramatic plot twists

BarryWhiteIsMyBrother · 29/12/2020 21:06

Succession and Queen of the South

BarryWhiteIsMyBrother · 29/12/2020 21:07

Bloodline is also good.

Will0wtree · 29/12/2020 21:13

If you like time travel adventures then Timeless was really good. Two seasons long and it properly finishes at the end. Very enjoyable.

Violetparis · 29/12/2020 21:14

The Night Of - starring Riz Ahmed set in New York
Caliphate - Swedish ISIS drama, so interesting and gripping
The Woods - Polish adaptation of a Harlan Coben novel
White Lines - escapist drama set in ibiza, full of recognisable UK actors.

MountainWitch · 29/12/2020 21:14

I loved Maniac although it's very weird. Spotless is gripping but graphic (about a forensic cleaner)
Glow is about women's wrestling- it's not a gripping thriller but was brilliant fun

Letsrunabath · 29/12/2020 21:20

Not Netflix but BBC Mrs America

Violetparis · 29/12/2020 21:24

DNA - Swedish drama on BBC iplayer is also very good.

ConfusedcomMum · 29/12/2020 21:29

'Cobra Kai' if you grew up in the 1980s and was a fan of The Karate Kid movie.

ouchmyfeet · 29/12/2020 21:32

We're enjoying unforgotten at the moment

grassisjeweled · 29/12/2020 21:35

Making a Murder
The Ripper

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 29/12/2020 21:36

Confused we loved Cobra Kai! Jonny's character has some great comedy moments. DD 12 loved it too.

The next series comes out on New Years Day ...think we may have a pyjama day and binge it!

ConfusedcomMum · 29/12/2020 21:53

tellme oh yes I'm looking forward to the next series. My DCs are very young so unfortunately I've had to binge watch at night whilst they're asleep - worth it though!

midsomermurderess · 29/12/2020 22:03

I recently rewatched Baptiste. It's very good, grabs you from the off.
