When do I start eating the Christmas food??!!

Serious question
We are tier 4- I have loads of Christmas snacks in. They are staring at me 👀 I keep walking past them trying to ignore them. Is it acceptable to start eating them now? I don't want to have nothing left for Christmas itself if I start now! Haha
When does everyone else start on the Christmas snacks?

There's no time like the present if our house is anything to go by. Xmas Smile

I’m allowing some of the Christmas food now. We actually have loads so might as well spread it out. We’ve got 2.5 weeks of sitting at home in wales and doing nothing with rubbish weather before kids go back to school so nice food and drink is about all we’ve got!

bellagogosdead · 20/12/2020 17:23

Tomorrow is the first day of christmas.

AlternativePerspective · 20/12/2020 17:23

I bought some cheese last week to make sure it was cheese we would like for Christmas, so we ate that just in time for me to add more to my food shop. Grin

I also bought a charcuterie platter but that didn’t get eaten so DP persuaded me that getting another one probably didn’t need to happen.

I don’t tend to open the party food until later in the week though, and I’m teetotal so no drink here....

Disfordarkchocolate · 20/12/2020 17:27

I've already had to replace nuts and chocolate. Enjoy.

DelurkingAJ · 20/12/2020 17:27

We started with a snacks taste test last weekend...and why not?

AlternativePerspective · 20/12/2020 17:28

That being said, in the fridge/freezer I have:

Cocktail sausages, pigs in blankets, duck spring rolls, smoked salmon and cream cheese to make canapés, an eighteen piece oriental selection, filo prawns, Satay chicken skewers,

Then I have cheddar, cheddar with truffle, Red Leicester conte, ritz crackers, carrs melts, grapes, apples, charcuterie and Parma ham....

Shock

There are three of us... would anyone notice if I opened some of it ... early? Grin

DumpedByText · 20/12/2020 17:43

We've eaten two tubes of pringles and a small box of celebrations already!

Get cracking I say 😂

Thewithesarehere · 20/12/2020 17:44

Ouch! Were we supposed to wait till Christmas?

Gufo · 20/12/2020 17:49

Started last week, and now we're on school holiday, all bets are off. I may have to restock as there's not much to do apart from eat!

Superstardjs · 20/12/2020 17:50

I have had to replace the wine and the crisps. I'm trying to resist buying more before 11.55 on Christmas eve or I'll be rebuying it again at this rate #fuckallelsetodo

JorisBonson · 20/12/2020 17:52

The snacks in this house keep shouting my name from another room...

MaverickDanger · 20/12/2020 18:03

One of the mini cheddar tubs has gone, as has a tube of pringles.

Everything else is off limits till 23rd, when I hopefully have a cheese order and an ASDA order also arriving on that day.

Night of the 23rd is hopefully a cheeseboard & charcuterie night with fresh bread, leftovers for lunch on 24th and then a sushi platter in the evening.

The buffet food all then comes out on 26th and gets eaten between then and 1st Jan.

I just need to make sure that this baby plays ball & allows someone to be here for that delivery & also that we can collect our turkey & trimmings on 24th.

PoppyOppy · 20/12/2020 18:06

I've had to make another batch of mince pies as they keep getting scoffed!

I'm hiding the bathroom scales. Judgemental prick. Hmm

Barton10 · 20/12/2020 18:10

We started yesterday needed some thing nice to cheer us up

NovemberR · 20/12/2020 18:18

As soon as the school holidays start.

(Although I may have eaten a box of After Eights and drunk a bottle of Bailey's earlier in the week...)

maddiemookins16mum · 20/12/2020 18:18

We opened a tub of Heroes last night. Plus I had two large tubs of extra thick cream delivered today (use by 29th Dec), which will now be too much for 4 people. I’m about to go and nuke some mince pies to go with the cream.

Madcats · 20/12/2020 18:21

We started on the day school broke up. We have a stash of food hidden above the kitchen cabinets to ensure we have some snacks left after Xmas day.

Crack on, I reckon!

feelingsomewhatlost · 20/12/2020 18:21

Now Xmas Smile I ate an entire box of quality street last night after tier 4 was announced here (not a tin, mind you) and this afternoon I made a start on the Christmas quiche. Sod it!

CoffeeRunner · 20/12/2020 18:24

Christmas Eve afternoon when DH, DS2 & I finish work.

LizzieMacQueen · 20/12/2020 18:26

I feel now we're in the 20's of December any Christmassy snacks are fair game. The next fortnight is a diet free zone.

itsoffical · 20/12/2020 18:28

I've started the enormous homemade Christmas Cake I made to feed 3 households.....

dudsville · 20/12/2020 18:29

Yup, we started today!
