What did Santa put your presents in as a child?

I don't remember there being special Santa stockings when I was young (I'm 39)

I used to leave out a pair of my mum's tights!

My cousins would use a pillowcase.

A pillow case and then later a Santa sack. I’m in my 40’s.

Hand knitted stocking, which I still have. I'm in my forties. That was hung on the outside of the bedroom door (it's hanging on mine now!). I would wake up about 2am and stick my hand round for a feel then go back to bed all giddy.

Presents downstairs would go on the sofas, mine on the left and my brother's on the right!

Stocking was a parent's long sock, and only had the little things, choc coins, satsuma etc. Proper gifts were never 'from' FC growing up, always from family, and were under the tree.
Pretty much the same here, too. We also used to have a book (an annual or hard back collection of stories) from my grandparents wrapped up on the end of the bed . I used to wake up and be too nervous to look so I'd put my feet down the bed to feel the weight of the book. Usually had a wrapped box of chocolates too, often Maltesers.

One of my dad's ski socks, always.

49. One leg of mum's nylon tights
I have images of her limping along with a lot of stuff in one tight-leg trailing along behind Grin

A pillowcase. My son has a pillowcase sized sack. No stockings.

I’m 25 and still have my childhood stocking with a snowman on it ⛄️

No stocking until I was 13 when I spotted a beautiful velvet stocking with bells in the florists and got it. Was only filled up a few times and not every year - FC presents where left on a seat in the living room, unwrapped and parents gift was under the tree. For my kids I go all out and they have initialed stockings hanging up which we check every morning to see that they are still empty and all FC gifts are wrapped in bright paper and muddled up with a tag and their initial on it and sharing gifts are unlabelled and they are all sitting near the tree, and a small gift is left at the foot of their bed so that the excitement builds immediately. I just love Christmas and the magic of it and will probably always make a big deal of it forever although DH and I rarely gift each other as we get such utter joy from watching our kids, we feel that’s plenty for us, plus lots of food 😀. Christmas music has been on in the kitchen since 1 Dec - our house it like a grotto!

A kind of giant gift bag - big enough to stand in.

Pillowcase as a child (I'm 58); my DSs have 'dedicated' Santa sacks, about the size of an infant schooler's PE bag!
