I haven't and my DP thinks I am the only person who hasn't - I beg to differ...!

I have never seen it and the clips I have seen don't tempt me at all. But then, I don't like slapstick.
Never seen Die Hard or wanted to see that either.
I do love ET though! I was 21 when I took four kids aged 9 - 14 to see it. I was so absorbed that I lost track of time so when the flower died (trying not to provide spoilers) I thought it was the end and I cried and cried. The kids stopped watching the film and laughed at me instead.

OppsUpsSide · 20/12/2020 22:42

I wish I hadn’t

Crankley · 20/12/2020 23:58

I've never seen it, no desire to watch it.

YellowHighlighterPen · 20/12/2020 23:59

Me.

Lizzie523 · 21/12/2020 00:00

Never seen it and don't intend to change that

CraazyCatLady · 21/12/2020 00:05

It's really good. You should watch it! Smile

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 21/12/2020 00:14

Watched it for the 1st time on Saturday! Loved it

Also watched the karate kid today (1st time)

I'm 50 - no idea how I've never seen these films before 😂

FixItUpChappie · 21/12/2020 00:15

I've never seen it - I hate slapstick comedy....it doesn't look like something I'd enjoy but my kids have come across it somehow and have asked to see it.

Longdistance · 21/12/2020 00:15

Not all the way through.

Xmasdinnervwpolo · 21/12/2020 00:21

ET has always been one of my favourite films since a child. To the point where one of my DC is named after Elliot.

I still get a lump in my throat at the bit with the flower and the flying bikes at the end.

I can't believe there are people who haven't watched it. Every year at primary school, the entire school was plonked in front of the projector to watch it on VHS in the assembly hall on the last day of term.

LadyofMisrule · 21/12/2020 00:21

Me

Tearsfortiers · 21/12/2020 00:23

I haven't but I've told DS I'll watch it with him this week.

Covidnomore · 21/12/2020 00:25

Unfortunately not me!

Over and over again & not just the 1st one......

Thanks school Grin

And why did I get Disney + Angry

Melange99 · 21/12/2020 00:29

Never seen it

katy1213 · 21/12/2020 00:36

Me. I don't feel I've missed out.

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 21/12/2020 00:47

Me! Never had any desire to watch it, I dislike slapstick "comedy" and precocious children so never wanted to waste time on it.

EnPoinsettia · 21/12/2020 00:52

Me neither.

Furries · 21/12/2020 03:26

I’ve not seen it, keep meaning to give it a go, but doesn’t feel like it’s my “thing”.

To those that haven’t seen ET, give it a go! Yes, it’s going to look a bit dated now, but it’s such a good film. I can still remember the first time I saw it in the 80’s. I laughed and I cried - and I desperately wanted a real life ET of my own by the end of it. It was also the first time I ever saw M&Ms, was well chuffed when they were available here 🤣

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/12/2020 03:29

@AuntieMarys

Saw for 1st time yesterday
DH did too.

I like the side story about the old man that I'm not sure I even registered the first time.

TheNestedIf · 21/12/2020 05:37

Me.

I recorded it and was going to break my duck this Christmas. Only it doesn't really feel like Christmas.

Rockbird · 21/12/2020 05:40

Loved ET as a child. Watched it recently for the first time with the dds and we all agreed it was utterly shite.

NoDontDoIt · 21/12/2020 05:42

Me. It looks fucking shit.

Steamfan · 21/12/2020 05:49

Never seen it - or Die Hard - or ET. I don't feel I've missed out

PhilCornwall1 · 21/12/2020 05:59

The only film I've watched in the last 10+ years is Downton, but I like that anyway. Films bore me to tears, so it's pretty much guaranteed if someone asks me if I've seen a specific film, I won't have.

HeronLanyon · 21/12/2020 06:03

I have not seen it. I feel as though I have because of all the clips and gifs/memes etc that pop up ALL OF THE TIME.
I may watch it this Christmas.

Could be allegorical - U.K. is MC all alone and isolated. BrexitCovid shitshow is the threat ?
