What would you say the £2 is for?

I'd say including lunch. I gave DS £2 this morning. He's just rang saying he needs money putting into his account for his lunch and you pay for that separately.
I don't think the poster makes that point clear or am I just dim?

He usually takes a pack up. Xmas lunch cost £2.30 but the minimum top up is £5.

So total cost for today, £16 Christmas Jumper, £2 donation and £5 top up (but actual cost £2.30) for lunch so £23 in total. Quite a lot of money when you're on a tight budget

You chose to spend £16 on a jumper though? Charity shops are full of them this time of year, or primark does them much cheaper than you paid if you didn’t want second hand

You don’t need to buy an expensive jumper and rhe top up will be used next year if there isn’t enough on the card

So basically it’s cost you two quid to charity and two thirty for lunch. You coulda went on eBay or anywhere and bought a cheap Xmas jumper. One large enough he gets more than one cmas out of it.

I am surprised others think this is confusing. How anyone can think a two pound donation to charity includes your kid getting a proper Xmas lunch beats me.
