How much did you pay for your real Xmas tree?

OP posts:
MsTSwift · 11/12/2020 15:46

£60 7 foot well way taller than dh who is 6 ft 2. It’s very attractive lovely and bushy one of the nicest we’ve had. Nothing more depressing than a spindly tree

BobBobBobbing · 11/12/2020 15:47

As we don't put the trees up to Christmas Eve I normally only get my biggest tree from my local farm and then go to B&Q just before Christmas and pick up a bargain from what's left for the other ones. Best ever deal was a 6foot tree for a penny!

HollowTalk · 11/12/2020 15:48

£45 for a 6' tree, delivered to the house. I'm shocked that people are getting them so much cheaper!

We used to get them from garden centres and pay over £30 for a 5ft Nordman non dropper.

Then found Wilco sell them - bigger and bushier and growing in pot. After Christmas it goes in the garden in its pot or taken out and we get at least 2 and maybe 3 years out of each. Much better and feels more sustainable if it’s still growing and can do another year. £22 for the tree but some years they do 25% off.

BigMamaFratelli · 11/12/2020 16:00

£42 for a 7ft non drop Nordman. It's beautiful Xmas Smile And really full and sturdy

A bit more than I wanted to spend, but It was from a friend of a friend's local florist. They've had a tough year, and it felt good to support a local business.

thefirstmrsrochester · 11/12/2020 16:00

£110 for a 10ft fraser fir which did include delivery by a man dressed as an elf. This has been the going rate for some years now so no covid profiteering due to lack of supply/tree lots being closed/limits on travel, and the place I got it from sold out of large trees by the first couple of days in December.

ShopTattsyrup · 11/12/2020 16:01

£30 for 6ft - from a local independent garden centre

MrsMigginsMate · 11/12/2020 16:04

Crikey there's some posters with some massive houses here! Grin

PseuDenim · 11/12/2020 16:05

£93 for 8ft Nordman fir but I’m in central London so everything always more expensive!

BigGapMum · 11/12/2020 16:07

£15 for a 6 foot tree from the local pick your own place. Bargain.

Joynot · 11/12/2020 16:07

£133 for 2
8.5ft and 6ft

TheFutureIs · 11/12/2020 16:08

£19 for a 7ft Nordmann from B&Q. Reckon it was mis-priced as I was expecting at least double that!

devildeepbluesea · 11/12/2020 16:09

Another one from IKEA here. So far no needle drop.

TheGriffle · 11/12/2020 16:12

Our pick your own tree place is any size for £15. Absolute bargain. We didn’t go this year but have the last 3 and it’s lovely trudging round finding the perfect one.

Almostslimjim · 11/12/2020 16:13

£45 delivered - it's about 10ft.

byvirtue · 11/12/2020 16:14

Feel we were a bit ripped off compared to some posters! £50 for a 8/9ft nordmann fir. It should have been £60 but he said he’d do it for £50!

Mydogsnotfat · 11/12/2020 16:17

£26 for one that is 7ft easily. Regular Norwegian spruce

SkeletonSkins · 11/12/2020 16:18

@TheFutureIs no I think that’s how much they were! We also got a £19 7ft Nordman Fir from b and q and it’s fab!

RoseZinfandel · 11/12/2020 16:20

£30 for a Nordmann fir, with stand included, tree is just over 6ft, probably about 6"2.
Local business, so I'm happy with the price.

DuzzyFuck · 11/12/2020 16:20

£39 from B&Q, it's a 6 foot Fraser Fir as we needed a slimmer shape for a small room (after the last 2 years having to shuffle into the room around a tree of vast girth BlushHmm)

80sColourfulChristmas · 11/12/2020 16:21

£39 but it's GORGEOUS! Very dark green, thick, full and dare I say it, bushy Grin

£50 for a 6/7 ft Fraser from a local farm/Christmas barn. Same as previous years.

Beamur · 11/12/2020 16:29

Some bargains on this thread.
Over £40 for mine. Does reach the ceiling though.

purpledagger · 11/12/2020 16:33

£40 for a 7ft from Costco.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/12/2020 16:34

£35 for a 6 foot tree from Harbro. I will try Wilko next year for a potted one, but the closest Wilko is across a tier boundary so I couldn’t have gone even if I’d known you could get them there.
