What an absolute gem she was. So saddened by this.

Oh no! Very sad. Hope it was a peaceful death.

Kpo58 · 11/12/2020 00:17

Its sad, but probably a relief also. Alzheimer's is a horrible way to go and she had been moved to a care home in the summer, which means it must have been advanced.

VanGoghsDog · 11/12/2020 00:17

Sad, but she's been horribly unwell for ages so at least she is at peace.

middleager · 11/12/2020 00:18

How sad. A true legend.

NonCISwoman · 11/12/2020 00:20

A true legend. She will always be the star of Eastenders to me

Holothane · 11/12/2020 00:20

She’s at peace now god bless.

DramaAlpaca · 11/12/2020 00:20

Aww, loved her. So sad to hear this. I know she'd been very unwell. Condolences to her family.

Whenismumhome · 11/12/2020 00:21

Oh no that is such sad news. Thinking of her family and friends.

Threelionsandalioness · 11/12/2020 00:22

Oh no ! She was a real british treasure she will be thoroughly missed.
Hope she is at peace now though.x

FinallyFluid · 11/12/2020 00:24

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Defenbaker · 11/12/2020 00:34

RIP Babs.

She brought a lot of smiles to people over the years, and showed she could also handle high drama, during her many years in Eastenders.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 11/12/2020 00:42

I did cry a little when I saw this. It just doesn’t seem real when it’s someone you’ve seen on TV all your life. I hope it was a release for her.

FestiveChristmasLights · 11/12/2020 00:43

It saddened me as well. Back in the days I watched Eastenders, she really was pivotal to the show.

snookercue · 11/12/2020 00:44

RIP

ManCubsMama · 11/12/2020 00:46

What a woman

FortunesFave · 11/12/2020 00:48

Oh no...I loved her! I saw her once in Plymouth walking down the street and as she went, people called out to her from everywhere...even from passing cars...and she called back to everyone! "Hello darling!" "Alright babe?" with a big smile on her face the whole time.

Quaagars · 11/12/2020 00:49

Aw no Sad Sad
So sad to hear this
True legend

wonkylegs · 11/12/2020 00:52

Glad she's been released from the clutches of such a terrible cruel disease and she can finally find some peace.
I've been following her progress closely as she was diagnosed not long before my mum was.

AfterSchoolWorry · 11/12/2020 01:06

Rip 🌹👼

augustusglupe · 11/12/2020 01:09

Very sorry to read this, although I'm also glad her suffering is over.
I read and then years later re read her autobiography. It's one of the best, what a life lived!! I've still got the book, it's pink with very yellowing pages now. RIP Babs x

MrsDoctorDear · 11/12/2020 01:13

Horrible disease. I'll always remember her in the Carry On films and as Saucy Nancy in Worzel Gummidge, lovely lady Flowers

cafenoirbiscuit · 11/12/2020 01:24

And shouting ‘get out of my pub’
🥲

grassisjeweled · 11/12/2020 01:34

Loved her in Carry On Camping ♥

ViciousJackdaw · 11/12/2020 01:39

RIP Babs, she seemed like such a nice woman. Here's a classic Peggy/Pat moment:

baroqueandblue · 11/12/2020 01:41

Total legend, often brought warmth to my life through the telly! So sad to hear that we've lost her, but happy to know that she's out of her suffering. RIP Babs! Halo
