Am I going to let DD look like an idiot sending her in like this tomorrow?

It’s Christmas jumper day tomorrow and yesterday I rushed out to get something for both kids.

I managed to get a jumper for DS but nothing for dd as there was nothing in her size.

Finally found what I thought was a long sleeved dress and thought fab. She can wear that over her uniform.

Got it home...and dh pointed out it was a nightdress.

I have no one to ask and no way to buy anything else.

So my choices are:-

Send her with the nightdress jumper or send her in anything I can find in the drawers.

Which one would be better?

Can we see a picture? DS1 has a pyjama top he was thinking about wearing, it just looks like a long sleeved tee.

Camomila · 10/12/2020 12:47

I think with tights and a cardigan it will look less obvious that its a night dress
(its probably not even that obvious now if you thought it was a dress)

We have to dress like elves instead - even harder!

Soubriquet · 10/12/2020 12:47

this is it

@Soubriquet that's lovely! I think with thick tights, it'll be fine :)

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/12/2020 12:49

I think it will pass.

BiscuitDrama · 10/12/2020 12:50

I think it’s fine! Is she 11 or 5 though?

SoupDragon · 10/12/2020 12:50

I think it's absolutely fine.

SoupDragon · 10/12/2020 12:50

@BiscuitDrama

Yes... I assume she's not at secondary 😂
Seeline · 10/12/2020 12:51

How old is she (just trying to gauge the response from classmates)?

But I think that should be fine.

Soubriquet · 10/12/2020 12:51

She’s 7

Its fine. Style it as a dress and no one will be any the wiser.

stickygotstuck · 10/12/2020 12:52

That will be OK, OP.

At DC's school some kids came with their Christmas onesies last year and everybody thought it was a lovely bit of fun. Your DD will be fine.

Soubriquet · 10/12/2020 12:52

Thank god. I was dreading it but you’ve reassured me

Backbee · 10/12/2020 12:52

It doesn't look overly nightdress to me, I would pop some tights/leggings on instead of the socks though...

madcatladyforever · 10/12/2020 12:52

its ok, looks like what everyone is wearing at work.

isawthat · 10/12/2020 12:53

It looks fine to me. You’ve also just reminded me it’s Christmas jumper day tomorrow, I need to get to the shops

Herja · 10/12/2020 12:54

Completely fine. How short is it? Cold it be tucked in to a skirt, so it's a christmas t-shirt? I really don't think that looks too much like nightwear though.

Katinski · 10/12/2020 12:56

I love it! It's brill and if she's happy with it it's a done deal. And also love that it comes with co-ordinating socks! Xmas Smile
I'm sure she'll have a great day!

TokyoSushi · 10/12/2020 12:56

Yes agree, if she wears it as a dress, with tights then it'll pass as a dress!

TheMostHappy · 10/12/2020 12:57

I think that and a nice thick warm pair of tights and boots will be champion.

Soubriquet · 10/12/2020 12:58

Thanks all! And it’s not that short which is why I thought it was a dress.

Very cute!

Parkermumma07 · 10/12/2020 13:04

I’ve done exactly the same haha, my little girl is 6, I didn’t mention that it was a night dress and she hasn’t sussed she thinks it’s great :) x

KenAdams · 10/12/2020 13:05

Ha - this is hilarious, I did exactly the same with the same dress! I've been able to get a jumper delivered today though. Our Sainsburys had it next to the dresses though, not in the PJ section.

diddl · 10/12/2020 13:06

Looks like a sweatshirt dress!
