Has anyone still got lots of things to do before Xmas?

Yes me! I've put my tree up, booked the shopping slot and bought three gifts. Everything else left to do!

TheRubyRedshoes · 09/12/2020 21:38

Yes and no!
The dc are sorted.
Dh mostly sorted.

One or too orders to send and Xmas food to buy. I'm strangely in limbo trying to make lists but there isn't much on them!

Still have to clean house though prior to Dec's and tree.

Mumtumwobble · 09/12/2020 21:44

Yep, loads of presents still to get. Booked shopping slot, but done nothing else about it. Plus we’re in the middle of decorating the lounge and the new carpet isn’t being put down until 14th.

For the first time in years no.
All that is left to buy is the food.
I just started shopping earlier this year.

snookercue · 09/12/2020 21:57

I'm struggling with not being able to go to the city for shopping. I have nowhere near the amount of things I need!

itsgettingaberrylikechristmas · 09/12/2020 21:58

Yes. SadConfused

AriesTheRam · 09/12/2020 22:01

Nothing apart from picking up m&s pre ordered food on 23rd

MonaLisaPiles · 09/12/2020 22:02

Everything

No tree up
No presents bought
No food bought
No fairy lights up
No cards

No money!

It’s been a tough year but the last few weeks especially so. Hardly dare hope that the light is visible at the end of the tunnel now and this is the first Christmas we will be free and happy. That’s priceless to me.

I am aiming for a few presents for my little children , a tree up and lit, a lovely Christmas dinner and Boxing Day.

This year more than ever in my whole life I understand what it really is all about.

BackforGood · 09/12/2020 22:12

I've got most of most of the presents.
I've posted the cards that need to go in the post.
That's it, so far.

OP posts:
Joynot · 09/12/2020 22:30

Everything
Have no inclination to do anything right now

CommanderBurnham · 09/12/2020 22:37

Tree up.
Presents not wrapped
50% not even bought or decided
Menu not decided
Slots booked
House is a tip.

Fuckfuckfuck.

Fuck it

DinosApple · 09/12/2020 22:42

Yes, move house! Xmas Shock

Presents are done and 95% wrapped. Stockings done.
No decs or tree yet though.
Food I'd normally order or cook and freeze hasn't happened yet though.

Christmastime4 · 10/12/2020 10:37

😁

lucysmam · 10/12/2020 10:45

Not really.

Presents mostly bought. Need something for the girls' dad, something else for my dad, and a couple of things for the girls, present wise.

Food shop is booked for 23rd.

I've been putting off icing Christmas cakes all morning but really ought to shift and do one of them.

Dd2's birthday is on 28th ... I'm significantly less sorted for that.

Simplyunacceptable · 10/12/2020 10:50

All sorted. Had to order two food shops due to the item limit so the snacks and drinks all arrived yesterday then the next shop with fresh stuff is coming on the 22nd.

Bought everything now, still needs wrapping though.

Booked Christmas days out ages ago so they’re all sorted.

Vanillaradio · 10/12/2020 10:56

Still need to:
Tidy and clean house
Write and post cards
Buy a few more presents (mostly done)
Wrap presents
Food order booked to pick up 23rd which covers lunch and tea but will need to purchase food for breakfast, Xmas eve and boxing day and alcohol!
Tree, decorations and lights up though!

quarentini · 10/12/2020 15:10

The only positive of being furloughed is that I'm organised.
Tree is up
All gifts are bought and wrapped
All snacks and alcohol bought
Butcher order can be collected on Xmas Eve as with the veg order.
And everywhere is clean.

Which is hopefully a good thing as I hope to be back in work on the 19th

Buzlightyear1 · 10/12/2020 15:12

I’ve still got to sort my son presents to Xmas and birthday 🤦‍♀️ Then wrap everything. Still got to food shop as can’t get delivery. Still got to get rest of presents 😂 but I do know when I will do these things ( I hope 😂)

AuntieMarys · 10/12/2020 15:14

No! Normally in December my diary is full of lunches, drinks and nights away. Now there is absolutely nothing.
Gifts wrapped in November, no cards this year and the house is full of alcohol.

bengalcat · 10/12/2020 15:16

Almost everything . That said have a Waitrose delivery slot booked and can amend the order until the day before . We have an artificial tree which will probably put up when DD comes back from Uni this weekend . Not many presents to buy . Have made a Christmas card list so will use some of last years leftover cards but do need stamps and always write letters to relatives ( probably not much to write this year ! ) .

Houseinthemiddle · 10/12/2020 15:23

Majority of presents still to get.
Cards need writing and posting.
Food, have started with a few bits but need more (beef, ham, veg, dairy)

Tree is up.
House is decorated.
Turkey is ordered.
Plenty of wine.

Having a few days away from the 20th to 24th, so next week will be flat out to get everything done.

IndieRo · 10/12/2020 15:28

Loads to do. Currently not living in my house as there is building work going on. Most of the heavy stuff is done so I started undercoating the walls today but still loads to do. Have most of the kids gifts and most of their clothes ordered. I have nothing for DH, no food ordered, no decorations up, no cards bought or written. Help!

AurorayRuben · 10/12/2020 15:35

Eh yes...because it is only December 10th and the shops stay open until Christmas eve.
Istart my christmas preparations on and around Dec 18th when the schools shut (I work in a school)
Lots of time left....
My partner does the food organisating and shopping.
