Just taken the temp of ours and it's 11 degrees in our living room, that's with the heating being on for an hour this morning.

Brrrrr.

What is everyone else at?

No idea, but there was ice inside the living room window this morning where the condensation had frozen.

dementedpixie · 08/12/2020 11:00

What's your thermostat set at. Dont think mine would ever be at 11⁰C unless my boiler had been off for days in the winter. Its probably around 18 or 19⁰C here

Either underperforming boiler and / or poor insulation?
Palmtree3 · 08/12/2020 11:01

Our living room gets down to around 13 overnight. It’s currently 18 with the heating on and the sun coming through the window.

dementedpixie · 08/12/2020 11:02

Food thermometer says its 19.6⁰C

Iamaweirdone · 08/12/2020 11:02

I leave it on at 17 all day (whilst out) and turn up to 20/21 when home. I’ve found this is works better than having to hear from cold when we get home

freakdechic · 08/12/2020 11:03

Right now mine is 18°C and I'm cold, prob because I'm working and not moving around much. Ours never gets below 15/16°C as it's set so that the heating comes on if it does.

lazylinguist · 08/12/2020 11:04

I have my thermostat set to 18, so I guess it's about that. 11 is ridiculously cold. I turn mine down to 15 when we go to bed, but the house rarely drops below that, so it doesn't come on during the night.

JumpingJamboree · 08/12/2020 11:05

Fucking freezing as my boiler has broken! But normally it is set to 18.

Glitterinthegrey · 08/12/2020 11:06

My house: thermostat set to 19° when the heating is on, and it generally stays pretty toasty.
However, currently at FIL while building work is done on my house (in our bubble before the Covid police pipe up) and he sets his thermostat to 16° constant, never turns it up. It's FREEZING.

SpringSunshineandTulips · 08/12/2020 11:09

Mine says it’s 21 but I am sitting here shivering so I’m not sure that’s correct but don’t want to turn it up in case it is right.

LutinDeSapin · 08/12/2020 11:25

21.1 according to our thermometer. Just bearable, will look for another layer when I've finished for lunch.

GiantKitten · 08/12/2020 11:29

Anybody who’s feeling chilly indoors - just go outside for a bit, your house will feel boiling when you come back in Grin

DH & I did some garden tidying for a bit yesterday and indoors was bliss afterwards! (Our thermostat is at 19)

TFSRM · 08/12/2020 11:31

Thermostat set to 19°but still feel cold. I'm sitting here with a blanket over my legs and drinking lots of tea.

Serena1977 · 08/12/2020 11:34

Just checked, I'm in the living room, it's 22 degrees.

Rest of the house is about 19.

purpleme12 · 08/12/2020 11:35

13 degrees in the bedroom this morning
(Yes I do only turn the heating on when needed because of cost)
But I don't have radiators on in our bedrooms cos it would get too hot at night
But downstairs heating does room the bedrooms up naturally

No thermostat, old house, listed, no insulation, paper thin windows.

I guess if we had the heating on all the time it would be warmer, but then we'd constantly be needing more oil.

I wear thermals to bed Wink

Mines 15. Old house with no cavity wall. And very old windows. Hotter than the inner circle of hell though in the summer.

Begonias · 08/12/2020 14:32

Currently 27 degrees, we have a log burner in the living room. DH was working in the office and put the central heating on so I'm melting right now.

Fluffy40 · 08/12/2020 14:34

Fairly modern house, about 19 degrees here.

PhilCornwall1 · 08/12/2020 14:35

22deg here at the moment

tvsnacking · 08/12/2020 14:36

24,7 in the kitchen . 25,2 in the Living room. Cold in bedroom.

Ridingthegravytrain · 08/12/2020 14:40

Old house. Currently 15.6 degrees. Heating comes on in morning and after kids get home from school. I wear lots of layers and keep busy the rest of the time. It’s a really cold inefficient house and only stays warm with heating on constantly which is £££

bigbluebus · 08/12/2020 15:05

Thermostat set at 19 at the moment but mainly because I'm trying to dry the washing and our walking boots. I just put a fleece on as I needed to go into the garage to get something out of the freezer but now I'm back in the living room, I'm too warm. We usually turn the thermostat up to 20 in the evenings but the heating always goes off overnight but the house doesn't get too cold.

Morgatty · 08/12/2020 15:14

16c, thermostat kicks in at 4am to 18c then turns off unless it goes below 12. So internal temperature slowly drops to around 14c normally as day goes on.
