Just taken the temp of ours and it's 11 degrees in our living room, that's with the heating being on for an hour this morning.

Brrrrr.

What is everyone else at?

23 here

No idea. Don’t have thermometers.

Original part of the house Which is stone is significantly cooler than the modern extension though.

Chasingsquirrels · 08/12/2020 15:47

Yesterday felt freezing, I put the heating back on about 10.30am (it's on from 7-9am - pre covid setting) with my hands and nose were like blocks of ice.
Today I've only just put it on because self-isolating 14yo said he was cold but I'm fine - maybe it was putting my dressing gown back on after I got dressed!

Anyway, thermostat says it is 16.5°c.

Thatwentbadly · 08/12/2020 15:49

19.5 according to the thermostat. I’m a bit warm but I have just been running around to get as much cleaning done as I can while DH was out on the school run.

mrsm43s · 08/12/2020 15:50

22.5 in the study where I'm working (tiny room which warms up really quickly with oil filled rad set to lowest setting). Heating is off in the rest of the (empty) house, so probably about 13.

Children will be heading home from school soon, so I'll be putting the central heating on throughout shortly. I'll set the thermostat to 18.5.

Most mornings its 12-14 degrees until the heating kicks in.

grassisjeweled · 08/12/2020 15:51

19 degrees

EnglishRain · 08/12/2020 15:52

21.3 on the gro egg. Put the heating on at 3 as bathed LO who is now snoozing peacefully. I live in a 200 year old cottage but it's insulated pretty well considering.

BuggerationFlavouredCrisps · 08/12/2020 15:54

Usually anywhere between 17-19° In the daytime in the main living rooms. If I put the wood burner on at night, it goes up to about 21°.

It drops to around 13° at night in the bedroom because we usually have the window open a bit and never put the heating on upstairs. I like a cold face and a thick duvet.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 08/12/2020 15:54

22 in ds room on his flash clock, a bit cooler downstairs and I've only had the heating on for a couple of hours today. Very lucky , our house was built about 12 years ago and the previous owners insulated it really well.
I'm in the south east so not as cold as other places

StandardLampski · 08/12/2020 15:55
  1. We've just come in and I've turned on heating to gonup to 18
unebaguettepastropcuite · 08/12/2020 15:58

We went to Australia for a month in winter and left our heating off. Even then it was still 12 inside when we got back!

unebaguettepastropcuite · 08/12/2020 15:58

19 here when we're in and awake, 16 when we're asleep

Marylou2 · 08/12/2020 15:59

Thermostat set at 22.It's really well insulated too. Hate being cold. Appreciate I'm really lucky.

AradiaGC · 08/12/2020 16:10

16 because I'm home alone and I don't mind layering up to keep the bills down. Heating goes on at 5.30 when everyone else gets back and then it usually goes up to 19 or 20.

Meruem · 08/12/2020 16:51

Mine is set at 17 most of the time. I sometimes put it up to 19 or 20 for an hour or so for a bit of a boost. But today I do feel cold so have had it at 20 for a few hours. Always put it back to 17 by about 6pm though otherwise it’s too hot for me to sleep.

LER83 · 08/12/2020 16:59

Thermostat set to 20. Upstairs is toasty, downstairs is like a freezer due to an ill fitting front door that opens directly into the living room, which is open plan with rest of downstairs. (Rented house). Am actually googling oil filled radiators as I'm so cold!!

Crakeandoryx · 08/12/2020 17:00

Usually 14 during night with heating off then goes between 14-18 during day, up to 20 on an evening. Today feels very very cold.

Crakeandoryx · 08/12/2020 17:03

Heating only on for an hour in the morning, then from 3pm. I just layer up and drink warm drinks.

user1471538283 · 08/12/2020 17:03

Too cold! Once it gets warmed up it's ok but I'm adjusting from gas central heating and the drop in temperature

Took · 08/12/2020 17:05

20°

The thermostat is set to 17° even though I don’t like the heating on at night (we all like a cool bedroom) but have to have it come on at that temperature as we have guinea pigs and they're delicate wee souls who don’t do chilly.

During the day if we feel the cold we whack it up to 19° or 20° for an hour and it keeps toasty for hours afterward. Wall insulation was done about 8 years ago and the difference is amazing.

Marmite27 · 08/12/2020 17:09

@MrsMarrio

Mines 15. Old house with no cavity wall. And very old windows. Hotter than the inner circle of hell though in the summer.
Ours is similar. I love the hive thermostat to a cooler place at the end of October. It’s 18.1 in the hall. Probably 20-ish upstairs.
vanillandhoney · 08/12/2020 17:11

No idea. Our central heating is broken but we do have a coal fire going. I'm warm enough, so probably around 20 degrees, I guess?

165EatonPlace · 08/12/2020 17:12

Very, very cold house. Moved in last year. One coal fire we have replaced with a multifuel stove. No wall insulation. External walls stone 21" thick. Internal walls solid concrete. Yes, concrete. Have 2 , 2kw electric heaters we move around. Sleep with electric blanket on.

Changi · 08/12/2020 17:22

It varies room to room. 18 in the hall where the thermostat is.

The house is rambling and very old. Thick, solid stone walls and no double glazing. However, once it warms up, it stays warm. It stays lovely and cool inside even in the warmest summers too.

Hotchocolatewithcream · 08/12/2020 18:29

I can’t believe how cold everyone’s houses are!

Mine hits about 18/19c at night in the winter, I have it set to minimum 24C through the day, it’s usually around the 26c mark!

Summer is unbearable in my house.
It really holds the heat, we have to have dan’s everywhere else it’s 35c easily.
