Don't like Turkey, Turkey gravy, roast potatoes, Brussels, cabbage, carrots, prawns, salmon, posh cheese, wine, stollen, xmas cake..

I should be slim but I'm not

I struggle with what to eat every year

Just eat what you like, surely being an adult means that we can choose what we want for ourselves, and at least this year you have the perfect excuse not to visit anyone else and having to put up with whatever they offer you Grin.

AfterSchoolWorry · 07/12/2020 22:43

I don't like turkey or Brussels sprouts either. I hate mulled wine too.

Other than that it's ok. I hate the fridge being stuffed with containers of leftovers and plates with tin foil over them. Also the amount of chocolate about. The gluttony is a bit much.

Amerimoon · 07/12/2020 22:51

Well what DO you like? Eat that!

I don’t like turkey, cranberry jelly, or bread sauce from the main dinner. I’m not keen on safe and onion stuffing. I also could never eat Christmas cake, mince pies, Christmas pudding, marzipan, stollen or custard which rules out trifle (unless my mum makes it, because she doesn’t like custard either). Also any fancy cheese, or booze.

Probably loads of other food items. Christmas food is very rich, heavy, and contains dried fruit which I hate.

I should be as thin as a twig, but I make up for the other things by mainlining chocolate and crisps etc.

ScalpHelp · 07/12/2020 22:54

Same!

I’m vegetarian so my Christmas never looks traditional regardless. Not sure we’re doing this but it certainly won’t include the majority of what you mentioned!

UnitedRoad · 07/12/2020 22:54

Sage and onion I mean

ScalpHelp · 07/12/2020 22:55

Not sure what we’re having this year*

grassisjeweled · 07/12/2020 22:57

Turkey is pretty rank, really.

Christmas cake is great but puts weight on me too easily. It's not worth it.

hilbil21 · 07/12/2020 22:58

I'm the same! Would much rather order a chinese lol 😂

CaraDuneRedux · 07/12/2020 23:01

Don't like turkey or Christmas pud.

Which is why we always have roast beef.

huuskymam · 07/12/2020 23:03

You're not, my daughter will only eat ham and some mashed potatoes, maybe a croquet

RaininSummer · 07/12/2020 23:05

I am not a fan either and it's just the cheese, crackers and wine that I really love . Roast dinners are always my least favourite meal.

Lollypop701 · 07/12/2020 23:05

I love it all... plus pate, cheese, grapes, crackers. Yum

Heartlantern2 · 07/12/2020 23:07

What do you eat for Xmas dinner normally?

DukeOfEarlGrey · 07/12/2020 23:08

I eat it out of politeness but am not a fan at all of roast dinner, Christmas pudding, Christmas cake or mince pies. If it were up to me it would be a salmon dinner but my family loves the traditional turkey.

BikeRunSki · 07/12/2020 23:11

We sometimes have nachos instead. Really loaded, with all the sides

Gingaaarghpussy · 07/12/2020 23:13

If it makes you feel better, I had pizza one year. I couldn't be arsed to cook for myself. I'd rather have any bird other than turkey.
Growing up we had turkey with all the trimmings, turkey sandwiches, turkey stew, turkey curry.
I have been known to make a nutroast which everyone including the single vegetarian ate.
Eat what you like. Start your own Christmas traditions.

Ltdannygreen · 07/12/2020 23:18

My brothers girlfriend doesn’t like roast dinner, only thing she likes is the Yorkshire’s. So she pretty much sits with a face on all day 😂

DontStopThinkingAboutTomorrow · 07/12/2020 23:20

Nope.
Hate turkey, hate mince pies, hate Christmas pudding, brandy sauce, pigs in blankets, parsnips, even Yorkshire puddings.

However, I please myself with a plate of stuffing and all veg apart from parsnips!

Crinkle77 · 07/12/2020 23:24

I hate anything with dried fruit in so Xmas pudd, cake, stollen, panettone or mince pies are all out for me. Only thing I like is chocolate log. Love a roast so all the other stuff is fine and I adore cheese.

Oliversmumsarmy · 07/12/2020 23:25

Christmas pudding makes me gag

Vegetarian so Turkey is off the menu

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 07/12/2020 23:27

I don’t like Roast dinner at all - I am with you. I would rather have a curry or steak and chips.

Bellabluea · 07/12/2020 23:28

We’re having a buffet Christmas lunch this year! I’m vegan as is my DM, and my DC aren’t fans of the big dinners so we’re doing all the things we like - pizza, vegan treats, meat for the carnivores, nice veg. Nobody says you have to do what everyone else does!

raskolnikova · 07/12/2020 23:31

I like pigs in blankets, cheese and chocolate, not interested in the rest of it.

NuniaBeeswax · 08/12/2020 02:18

Mince pies, Christmas pudding and Christmas cake are all rotten.
