Day 1827: DP is tired

OverpaidT · 02/12/2020 17:49

Just that really. I think I'm going to have to hide later if I have to hear one more time how tired he is. The whole country is tired, but I'll have you know DP is more tired.

Poor lamb. Does he need you to call him a waaah-mbulance?

OverpaidT · 02/12/2020 17:52

I think so. I'm not sure what the number is though... Any idea?

BogRollBOGOF · 02/12/2020 17:54

Is he Dressing Gown of Doom tired?

PerpendicularVincent · 02/12/2020 18:05

Does he sigh when you speak to him and whimper if you ask him to do anything?

If so he's my DH obviously very tired.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/12/2020 18:08

Get him the dressing gown too smother him

OverpaidT · 02/12/2020 18:12

I'm thinking a dressing gown could be a Christmas present idea for this year. No sighing but groaning. I think that might be worse.

Get him vitamins for Christmas.

bluebearss · 02/12/2020 18:21

Is he practicing his Pained Expression?

OverpaidT · 02/12/2020 18:25

I'm not sure about the Pained Expression, I've turned my back and not daring to turn and look. I'll keep busy until DCs bedtime and then hide upstairs. Vitamins is a great idea too Grin

TwoZeroTwoZero · 02/12/2020 18:31

Do you think he's putting it on or is he actually tired?

I'm only asking because last year I felt extraordinarily tired all the time, and was very vocal about it, until a blood test showed I was deficient in both vit d and iron. Antidepressants also helped raise my mood and lift my energy levels.

OverpaidT · 02/12/2020 18:36

He's been tired every single day for the past five years Angry

Groaning takes him straight into LTB territory.
Cygne · 02/12/2020 18:39

My DH has this habit of announcing hopefully "I feel really cold, is it me?" (because he thinks it's a sign of illness). He's massively disappointed when I point out that it's sodding 2 degrees, he'd be weird if he didn't feel cold.

Monkeymilkshake · 02/12/2020 18:43

This made me lol. I think my DH might be a bit more tired - maybe they could have a little competition. It's so hard for them... Smile

OverpaidT · 02/12/2020 18:45

@Monkeymilkshake you're on. I'm guessing he will go up to bed at 8.30 tonight to watch TV uninterrupted

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 02/12/2020 18:48

I'll give them a run for their money!!

I'm genuinely permanently bloody exhausted. Drs can't fix it. I can't fix it. Sleep can't fix it. Vitamins can't fix it. Healthy, so fucking healthy, diet can't fix it. Don't smoke, barely drink, nothing left to give up.

I know it must be frustrating to live with, but it's a ducking hudioys way to feel too 😢

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 02/12/2020 18:52

@OverpaidT - think you've got it bad? Mine's tired and he's got a headache. He was in the DGoD 'til 2:30pm today.

OverpaidT · 02/12/2020 18:52

@WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants I'm sorry that genuinely sounds absolutely awful. I hope you get some relief soon or an idea of what could be wrong.

I don't think DP's is this though. It's habitual - like the neighbour who always comments on the weather each day. I've told him numerous times to go to the GP etc. He shuts up ... Until the next day, of course.

hitchhikingghost · 02/12/2020 18:53

@Cygne haha spot on, my DH is the same. 😂

Anycrispsleft · 02/12/2020 19:00

In Glasgow there is an extremely poor-taste retort to this: "you must be wearing my clothes". It's a reference to the Crucifixion, when beggars who took Jesus' clothes, felt the same pains he was feeling when they put them on.

I use it on DP every day Grin

S0CKS · 02/12/2020 19:05

I think my Dh wins sorry he's got a tummy ache you know AND he's tired. He woke up for two hours in the middle of the night (more like 10 minutes) and is just exhausted!
I point out he also woke me up and I have period pains from hell. But he's worse you know because he mentions it more

Gancanny · 02/12/2020 19:17

He woke up for two hours in the middle of the night (more like 10 minutes) and is just exhausted!

DH reckons he was tossing and turning all night last night and couldn't sleep for longer than a few minutes at a time. By sheer coincidence we must have been on opposing schedules because every time I woke up - 3yo with a nightmare, toilet, child needing help to the toilet - he was fast asleep. What are the odds? He also reckons he was awake for the day at 5am when he finally gave up on sleep which is weird because he was lying in the bed when I woke up at 6.30 but he says thats just because he didn't want to disturb me by getting up so he lay there awake but with his eyes closed.

RubyFakeLips · 02/12/2020 19:23

My DH has recently been so exhausted, he is in fact too tired to go to bed.

In fact he thinks he's so overtired that his sudden energy bursts which cause him to stay up late and thus be more tired are adrenaline rushes brought on by being just that tired. It is apparently a viscous cycle, which (and I quote) "old wives tales" like an early night, will not cure.

RubyFakeLips · 02/12/2020 19:24

*Vicious

FFS maybe I'M tired!
