Two of my favourites that dh can’t stand and thinks they are not worth the disc they are printed on

Scott pilgrim vs the world

Sucker punch

I love both of these films. I think they are very entertaining and I like how sucker punch literally sucker punches you at the end as it’s not an ending you would expect

BIL's guilty pleasure is Maid in Manhattan.

I adore Carry On films in all their dated, sexist glory.

Liverbird77 · 02/12/2020 14:01

Stepbrothers.
Pretty much all the Hallmark Christmas movies

Bluesheep8 · 02/12/2020 14:02

Labyrinth

Chelseabunsforme · 02/12/2020 14:03

Decoy Bride. It's utter rubbish but I really enjoyed it.

Bamaluz · 02/12/2020 14:07

Pearl Harbour

Captain Corelli's Mandolin

Both regularly slated on here.

NastyBlouse · 02/12/2020 14:13

Soapdish. Sally Field, Whoopi Goldberg, Kevin Kline, Cathy Moriarty. It's a comedy set in the world of 90s daytime soap operas and it's very... shrill. But I love it. It's my go-to cheer-up film when I'm ill.

I also like all the Fast & Furious films. I know they're crap. But they're really well-executed crap.

MeetMeInMontauk · 02/12/2020 14:14

Mine is Napoleon Dynamite. Lots of people that I've spoken to about it simply hated it and couldn't get past the apparent lack of storyline but I just loved the quirky characters and intentionally bizarre situational comedy.

RhubarbTea · 02/12/2020 14:16

I adore Napoleon Dynamite, it's one of my fave films.

Also:
Love Actually
Scott Pilgrim
Music and Lyrics
Pretty Woman
Lost in Translation

vampirethriller · 02/12/2020 14:20

Death Proof
From Dusk till Dawn
From Hell
Anything with Dwayne Johnson who I love and won't hear a word against.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/12/2020 14:21

Snakes on a plane.

Drivingbuttercup · 02/12/2020 14:23

Big trouble in little china.

PolarnOPirate · 02/12/2020 14:24

Maid in Manhattan and Monster in Law. I think JLo is lovely!

PolarnOPirate · 02/12/2020 14:26

@vampirethriller who doesn't like Dwayne Johnson??? Shock he can do everything! He's amazing a Maui.

RedTawny · 02/12/2020 14:26

@vampirethriller I love anything with the rock in! I've got a shelf with loads of his films on. Most of them I can admit would be terrible to most people but I love them

Jurassic world. Loads of people I know hate it and day it's the worst in the franchise but I love it. I love them all

unmarkedbythat · 02/12/2020 14:27

Dirty Dancing, my DH hates it and it's my favourite film ever. It was his mum's favourite too and he is really, genuinely miffed at times that he ended up with a woman who wants to watch on a semi regular basis a film he spent much of his youth being annoyed by.

I like all three of the 'new' Star Wars films too. Grown men have shouted at me over this. Which makes me like them even more tbh!

TiersOfAClown · 02/12/2020 14:29

I have such a soft spot for The Slipper and the Rose and never admit that to anyone Grin

jollygreenpea · 02/12/2020 14:33

HUCKMUCK

I think you'll find Tremors is not a shit film Grin

tofuschnitzel · 02/12/2020 14:33

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. It didn't do very well financially, and the reviews were not exactly glowing. Even so, I really like it and I'm not sure why it did so badly at the box office. It is visually stunning, and the world building is interesting and novel.

tofuschnitzel · 02/12/2020 14:36

@TiersOfAClown I love The Slipper and the Rose! It's one of my mother's favourite films, so we watched it a lot at home.

I also love Grease 2, it is so much better than Grease, and the music is great Grin

SillyUnMurphy · 02/12/2020 14:40

I was going to say Love Actually, just purely because of the amount of hate it gets on here Grin
I also love bad 80s films such as the Vacation films and Brat Pack films.
I love Scott Pilgrim OP. Chris Evans’ eyebrows are incredibly entertaining!

SurreyHillsGirl · 02/12/2020 14:41

@NeedWineNow

From Dusk until Dawn. DH cannot understand why I like this but it's so off the wall!
Such a fucked up, funny movie
LolaSparkle · 02/12/2020 14:49

@Oxyiz Twister is also my ultimate favourite film! In fact I watched it last night 🤣

MrsLeclerc · 02/12/2020 14:49

Grease 2, much prefer it to Grease! I was singing Cool rider to myself just yesterday Grin
Austenland
All the made for TV Christmas films especially Lacey Chabert ones
Spy (you’re dressed like a sexy dolphin trainer line cracks me up just thinking about it)

catlovingdoctor · 02/12/2020 15:08

Deep Impact
The Patriot

Gingernaut · 02/12/2020 15:18

I ❤ My Cousin Vinny.

Mira Sorvino is hysterical as the (not so) dumb "unemployed hairdresser" from Noo Joisey. The court scene at the end with Fred Gwynne as the judge has me in stitches.

And I like Clue as well. Zany murder mystery in a creepy old house.
