Would you buy anything from Debenhams atm?

I’ve seen two cardigans in Debenhams, but just feel a bit unsure if I should buy from them at the moment, I would pay by credit card but as it’s under £100 I would probably not be covered if they go bust. What would you do? I have avoided Dorothy Perkins and Wallis but just seen in the news Debenhams could be affected too.

Breaking news Arcadia has gone into administration.

I made a Debenhams order at the weekend and Hermes have confirmed today that they have it and it's on its way, so fingers crossed!

I'm trying not to pay for anything up front at the moment, instead using Klarna to delay payments until I've decided to keep parcels. Sadly, retail is just too precarious at the moment.

I ordered Saturday and my stuff came today.

I think Debenhams is affected because a lot of their stock is Arcadia concessions which puts their future in jeopardy with any buyers, I think JD Sports were interested. Any purchases should be ok at the moment I would have thought

I’m waiting on a Dorothy Perkins order arriving tomorrow 😳 I’m assuming there’s zero chance I’ll see it, despite it being with courier . Presume they’ll send it back .

I probably wouldn't buy anything that may need returning after Christmas though, if it's a sure buy it should be ok

I spent about £80 at Debenhams and didn't even think about it being Arcadia.

I can see part of my order is with Hermes but they ship items separately.

It will obviously be better for the administrator to honour the sales than refund them, don't worry! As PP said, the administrator has confirmed they will be honoured. It's standard practice to continue to trade through an administration.

You should be ok if you’ve paid by cc as you can do a section 75 I think, but it has to be between £100 -£30000. Im not sure what the rules are for purchases under £100.

I’ve just had a confirmation from Hermes for my order from the weekend, I hope it turns up. It’s probably wise not to do any further orders at the moment until I get a better idea of the situation. Such a shame I really like Debenhams and feel so sorry for the staff.

It's only certain concessions within Debenhams, ie. Wallis, DP etc that are Arcadia, a lot isn't but because some of it is it will maybe will put buyers off. It sound like everyone will get their purchases at the moment though but spend any gift cards ASAP

When the shops open on Wednesday probably best to buy in store.
