Anyone else fancy a Sunday morning whinge?!

What’s annoyed you this morning?

I’ll start - I have come downstairs this morning to find that YET AGAIN my husband has failed to lock the back door before coming to bed last night.

If I’m last to bed then I check the whole house is locked but he likes to stay up really late and let’s our dogs out before coming to bed.

A couple of years ago when I was up in the night with newborn daughter we had a guy in the back garden who tried to get in the back door whilst I was standing there. Needless to say this left me very conscious about security and nervous at night.

Since then Hubby has left the back door unlocked (and even wide open once back in the summer) on several occasions overnight.
I hope I don’t sound like a harpy but this really cheesed me off this morning.

Anyone else started off their morning needing a moan? WinkGrin

That is crap, I'd be pissed off too, especially after your awful experience.

I am supposed to be asleep, but the Amazon delivery driver bashed repeatedly on the door until I opened it ar 7.12 am this morning. I then needed a wee, and had to feed the cats and now my head is tired but my eyes, are not Sad

Gensola · 29/11/2020 08:19

My neighbour’s horrible badly trained dog is barking its head off and has been since 735am. It barks all day and every day and is spoiling our enjoyment of our new home.

FTEngineerM · 29/11/2020 08:20

Yes.. I also came down to an unlocked back door. FRUSTRATING AS HELL. He also leaves his keys everywhere so if anyone would like a free car come right inAngry

FippertyGibbett · 29/11/2020 08:21

I’ve also come down in the past to find a window open or the black door unlocked. That’s after I’ve been round and checked that everything is shut.
Now I put the dog out myself and take the keys to bed with me 😉

PregnantAndAnnoyed82 · 29/11/2020 08:22

Oh @Takethewinefromtheswine that would piss me off too. Knocking that early on a Sunday?! I’d have offered that delivery driver some strong words of advice!

My husband does the same although thank god we’ve never had a dodgy man in our back garden as far as I know. There are many other things he does which are just careless and he doesn’t get why I get annoyed / frustrated.

PregnantAndAnnoyed82 · 29/11/2020 08:26

@FTEngineerM your other half can join my husband in the dogs house then.

@FippertyGibbett I absolutely would take take keys to bed but sometimes he likes to go and sit in the garden or go out with the dogs when he sits up til 1am. I’m heavily pregnant so head to bed by 9pm most nights.

My partner snored and i kicked him to the spare room but did not sleep until 4 !

Wibblewobble99 · 29/11/2020 08:38

My husband a police officer and still leaves all manner of doors and windows unlocked/open. We have no dog as an excuse! I’ve tried the gentle approach but it’s not improved so in a fit of rage I recently pointed out what an idiot he would look in front of his colleagues and sergeant when someone lets themselves in. So far it’s worked but I like @FippertyGibbett solution if it starts again!

PregnantAndAnnoyed82 · 29/11/2020 08:41

@Wibblewobble99 that’s what my DH does for a living too which makes it all the worse!

I got my one lay in a week. DH gets six a week. I bring him a cup of tea every day and he didn’t bring me one. I also had to get up and make DD her breakfast before I went to back to bed by which time I was wide awake.

PregnantAndAnnoyed82 · 29/11/2020 08:42

@RosieLemonade that would have me eying up the patio Wink

JonasKahnwald · 29/11/2020 08:45

@RosieLemonade why do you only get one lie in a weekand your gets 6?! Doesn't seem fair.

JonasKahnwald · 29/11/2020 08:46

Your dh that should say.

fassnk · 29/11/2020 08:58

I like to clean up the kitchen after dinner each night - dishes, clean the sides and cooker etc. All nice for the inevitably early wake up with DS. Came down this morning and DP seems to have got up and had some sort of late night snack - various dishes strewn on the worktops, yoghurt covered spoons left on the draining board, spilt cereal on the floor! im full of rage!

PilatesPeach · 29/11/2020 09:00

I live alone but still feel a bit grumpy this morning!

ilovebagpuss · 29/11/2020 09:02

Another door leaver unlocked here! and I ask him last thing as well! I leave it to him as he has to unload his work van tools and lock up the garage as they are expensive kit.
Came down and everything unlocked and his work van boot wide open- here come and have ££££ worry of tools free for the taking.
Luckily we live in a low crime area but it boils my piss.

Suzi888 · 29/11/2020 09:05

I am the door leaver unlocked and sometimes wide open here Blush but never in winter brrrr!
No anger this morning! but DH is angry he has to ring SKY tv Grin

Sarahandduck18 · 29/11/2020 09:13

Honestly this kind of thing makes me think we’d all be better off living alone.

nosswith · 29/11/2020 09:20

That Boris Johnson is still Prime Minister is the only thing annoying me. Who has yet again treated Parliament with contempt by announcing to the papers something that should have been announced to the House.

Drbrowns · 29/11/2020 09:24

I don’t leave doors unlocked but have been known to leave windows open all night and even when once gone out.

I’m annoyed because I was sick last night in the middle of the night and no one else in the house was even though we all ate the same thing and now I’m worried I’m pregnant and don’t know because I haven’t had a period in over a year because of my coil.

LivingMyBestLife2020 · 29/11/2020 09:25

Nothing really to moan about here other than my son being wide awake at 6am. I can guarantee I’ll have to get him up for nursery tomorrow!

I am so glad I am single! My ex was a super messy guy. He’d stay up late and have a kitchen feast and leave the mess, then a shower and leave his clothes on the floor, beard trim and not clean the sink, wet towel on the floor etc. I used to get up all night with our then baby and I’d sit cursing and boiling over whilst feeling our son. I’m so glad he’s gone!

Happy Sunday every body

I got my one lay in a week. DH gets six a week.

Curious about DH's other five lays in a week.

I'm grumpy because OH (he doesn't deserve a "D"H this morning) is downstairs doing his ineffectual cough routine. He makes feeble "Heh! Heh!" noises, but no actual attempt to cough anything up: "I can't shift it.... "...

Yes you bloody can, you big wuss! Just put some wellie into it!

I'd happily have a couple of weeks alone as respite.

However.... I do hate it when I make myself grumpy and haven't anyone to blame.
Eg hitting my head on a cupboard door that I've left open. No-one to blame but myself and I so want to hit the door or something silly.

So, maybe I'd have felt irritated this morning anyway and should be grateful I have him to blame...?

Nah.
Still fancy the respite.
