if you can, then i'm impressed and wish I could do the same!!

what 3 things would impress you?

OP posts:
Babdoc · 28/11/2020 18:48

Um, not all at once, OP, no...!

iklboogeymum · 28/11/2020 18:49

I can, yes. But not all at the same time Grin

Mine would be:

Make a good soufflé
Hang wallpaper well
Crochet a recognisable garment

Prettybubblesintheair · 28/11/2020 18:51

Speak another language fluently, run for pleasure, fostering/adoption.

Ylvamoon · 28/11/2020 18:52

Oh yes, i can... or I used to!
Dogs esy as I have 3.
Chess, I used to play with my grandad in my early teens... probably very rusty now.
Car tyres, I hope everyone who drives a car can do this!

firesong · 28/11/2020 18:54

I can play chess. I've never been able to whistle and it used to really piss me off when I was little Grin I haven't changed a tyre but I believe I could... should learn really.

MountainPeakGeek · 28/11/2020 18:56

Kind of. I can absolutely play chess and change car tyres. I can also whistle. However, I'm clearly crap at training my dog because he only comes to my whistle if there's nothing more interesting happening...

Ylvamoon · 28/11/2020 18:58

... I also speak an other language fluently.

No to running and soufflés!

Lay wood flooring, built a camp fire and have read the Nibelung.

BecomeStronger · 28/11/2020 18:59

Mine would be draw, sing and sew (I can sew a button but not a dress iyswim).

I can't do the ones in the OP either. Well theoretically I can change a tyre but I've never actually done it and I know the rules of chess but understand that's different to being able to "play".

thefirstmrsrochester · 28/11/2020 18:59

I cannot but would love to be able to:

make meringue
reverse park
be fluent in a couple of languages

I can play chess, my cat comes back when I whistle for her, but changing a car tyre, nope.

thirstythirsty · 28/11/2020 19:00

Used to play chess when I was younger but probably a bit rusty. I can whistle but not loud enough for a dog to hear. I drive but I wouldn't have a clue about changing a tyre, I can fill the screen wash up and check the oil (maybe, with a bit of help) and that's all I can do on a car!

Mine would be
Be crafty/arty - I just don't have a creative bone in my body
People who can cook amazing things
People who are good at DIY

chomalungma · 28/11/2020 19:00

I can play chess reasonably well .
Can't whistle
I can change a car tyre - but my car has no spare tyre. Something to do with saving space.

HardlyEver · 28/11/2020 19:01

None of the three.

I can speak five languages well, sightread music and milk a cow. (To balance this, I can’t drive, catch a ball or fall asleep easily.)

I impressed by people who can knit, do cryptic crosswords and cycle handsfree.

NoddingTulip · 28/11/2020 19:05

Yes I can(not very good at chess though)

I'd be impressed if you could

Play an instrument, bake a decent Christmas cake, sew name tapes into school uniform(a must at dcs school)

Clymene · 28/11/2020 19:07

I wish I could build things, knit things and had enough upper body strength and no fear to rock climb. And I would like to be able to make a complicated many item meal without getting into a flap

I can change tyres, play chess and call my dog back (can't whistle very well but I don't care).

mineofuselessinformation · 28/11/2020 19:10

No, yes, yes.
I know my way round older petrol cars quite well.
I can do my own wiring (replacing light fittings for example).
I used to shoot when semi-automatic firearms were legal (not people - targets!)

Imissmoominmama · 28/11/2020 19:12

I wish I could... go really fast downhill without fear, either on skis or a bike (I do both with caution).

Do the monkey bars at the park.

I wish I could still walk on my hands (I could as a child, but I’m 54 now).

I can whistle my dogs back and play chess, but last time I had a blow out, I phoned Green Flag 😬.

iklboogeymum · 28/11/2020 19:14

@Ylvamoon - I downloaded a free chess app (after watching The Queen's Gambit) and it's really helping me pick my game up again.

BlackPetunia · 28/11/2020 19:15

i can sew name tapes into uiform (5 kids!)
run for pleasure.....2 london marathons and countless half,10k,5k
and drive

the chess thing.....i'm watching the queens gambit on netflix and it looks so very complicated!!

milk a cow....wouldnt have a clue, but might get lucky trying!

OP posts:
BlackPetunia · 28/11/2020 19:16

if i had 2020 lockdown again then chess could well be a project!

along with basic car maintenence

OP posts:
NotEver0 · 28/11/2020 19:18

Cant do any of them.
Wish I could
Paint well creatively
Be a dab hand at DIY
Play card games

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 28/11/2020 19:19

@Clymene you’d be surprised that climbing isn’t about upper body strength, it’s mostly about leg positioning. If you were to try to use upper body strength you’d be fatigued in no time. As I discovered until I had an improvers lesson. (I’m still at fairly beginner level though but did see a big improvement once I started using legs and stopped trying to haul myself up with my arms)

gottakeeponmovin · 28/11/2020 19:19

Can't whistle but can play chess but not well. Am excellent at changing tyres

LilyLongJohn · 28/11/2020 19:20

I'm crap at whistling

Mandalalorianna · 28/11/2020 19:24

I can change a tyre, play chess, juggle three balls, make clothes (by sewing though, knitting has forever eluded me), milk a cow, plumb in a bathroom, most DIY.

Fitness eludes me also!

I can't whistle or do any fitness things though.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 28/11/2020 19:25

I can change a tyre We were actually taught at school (reasonably posh girls school, it was considered an essential skill). It's Coe in very useful twice... Once on a road trip in USA, we got a flat in the desert. No phone signal, no one passed with. Once at him, so was able to swap it out for the space saver and get it repaired.
Never really played chess.
Never had a dog.

I can sw and run.

I admire those who don't get lost or injure themselves I bizarre ways.
