I'm just enjoying my quiet cup of tea, there are a pair of squirrels in the sycamore at the end of my garden that I've been watching.

Everyone else is sock on so I'm going to iron & wash last night's pots in silence then fetch the Christmas tree downstairs.

We're putting that up this afternoon & both girls wanted to make paper chains. I've started crocheting a stocking so will do some more of that...I hope I have time to do 2 before Christmas but I am very slow.

Chicken burgers for tea, with wedges. And probably a Wine or two for me.

What about everyone else? :)

Well the options are endless Hmm

I’m meeting a friend for a walk (even though it’s piddling down I don’t care - I need to get out of the house!) DH is taking care of the washing and I’ll iron it all tomorrow. I’ll probably carry on listening to the Barack Obama autobiography whilst pottering around the house.

Dinner will be a roast chicken, chips and fresh bread & butter followed by wine and Strictly!

Whilst lockdown sucks, I could get used to these lazy weekends!

mdh2020 · 28/11/2020 09:31

I’m eating a friend for a walk. She was recently widowed so I meet up with her twice a week. A zoom with friends later and then Strictly.

user159 · 28/11/2020 09:31

Going to meet my sister in a minute for a walk and a takeaway coffee - literally the most exciting thing to happen this week!

Christmas tree with DD and DH this afternoon then probably another park trip tomorrow (even if it's raining!)

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 28/11/2020 09:33

Bathing the dog
Getting the Cmas decs down from the loft.
Cooking a beef stew

dancemom · 28/11/2020 09:37

Morning!

Still in bed but about to get up then I'm going to put a washing on and bake some banana bread, there's bananas to be used up.

Then I'm going to go to B&M and Home Bargains which are miraculously still open and classed as essential retail apparently! Looking for a mirror, rug and new bedding for dd.
Then back home to do some cleaning and watch the rugby.

Happy Saturday everyone!

relievedlady · 28/11/2020 09:38

Just having my coffee and Mumsnet ting in bed then getting up as we are going to look at a retired greyhound later on.
Already have two but can't resist them Grin

Then up to carry on gutting the loft as I go ba to work next week after a month off and have spent that time clearing out and doing tip runs which has been great as we don't normally get time to do big jobs like that often hence why the loft has taken so long Hmm

Then a dog walk later after popping to get some weekend food

Then online stuff for dh.

Ghostlyglow · 28/11/2020 09:39

Going for a walk. What else is there? Smile

SurreyHillsGirl · 28/11/2020 09:39

Your plans sounds lovely, @lucysmam.

DH has just brought up coffee and toast, he’s watching the footie downstairs while I MN and cuddle my lazy dogs.

Then we are going for a long dog walk, then we are planting something in the garden (I can’t remember what, DH is the gardener!) ...then onto the garden centre where it will be very festive, I’m really looking forward to that, I feel v Christmassy this year despite the restrictions.

Then back home, fire on, red wine out and movie on. Thai Green Curry for dinner which I made in the slow cooker last night, its amazing

Picking up our tree on Tuesday!

Have a lovely day all Daffodil

Lazysundayafternoons · 28/11/2020 09:40

Dbaby is having his nap.

Ds is doing science experiments.

Dp is out at our new house we are building because the concrete is being poured for the floors this morning.

I'm waiting for a food delivery and might make a cup of coffee while I wait. I've just wrapped a couple more Christmas presents.

I cant remember what's coming in the food delivery so today's dinner will be a surprise Grin

lucysmam · 28/11/2020 09:41

@SurreyHillsGirl how do you do the curry in the slow cooker?

lollipoprainbow · 28/11/2020 09:46

These all sound lovely !!

walkwalk · 28/11/2020 09:49

@SurreyHillsGirl Slow cooker Thai green curry recipe please!!!

DH will work today while I potter about with toddler DD. Think we will deep clean her high chair together, go out on the balance bike etc, while I'm planning Christmas in my head... then supermarket crispy duck pancakes for dinner Smile

SurreyHillsGirl · 28/11/2020 09:53
@SurreyHillsGirl how do you do the curry in the slow cooker?
It’s so easy and quick, you will never bother standing over a wok again, and it’s way tastier from the slow cooker. I use mainly frozen veg apart from peppers (as frozen peppers are the work of the devil).

Chop up your peppers and hot chillies, chuck a bag of frozen sweet pots and frozen green beans in the pot, along with frozen chopped onions, frozen garlic and ginger, lime juice, fish sauce, garam masala, kaffir leaves and a decent paste (Blue Dragon is fine) add a couple of tsp of brown sugar and chicken breasts. Season. I don’t weigh or measure anything, just go by sight. I also don’t brown the onions, in this dish it makes no odds. Throw in three cans of coconut milk. Set to 4 hours on high. I then let it cool and eat the next day as this makes the flavour out of this world.

GreenPlum · 28/11/2020 09:56

Reading about your days has made me quite emotional but I don't know why! Maybe because it's nice to hear of people being busy and being reminded that life can go on and people will find purpose. Obvious really, but it's easy to feel trapped.

I'm a single mum so I don't have another adult to drag me along when I'm feeling slow. The children don't challenge me if I'm not performing. Plus I care for my dad who we live with, so I am feeling pretty housebound anyway.

Despite all that, I will try to get out of the house for a walk. It will have to. W shirt because I've come to the conclusion that I'm allergic to leaf mould (we live next to some woods which is pretty much my only walking option) and my asthma is flaring up at the moment.

But first I've got to do my dad's tax return. Later on I need to settle down and do some Christmas shopping online and I will try to support independents rather than Amazon.

Have a lovely day folks.

SurreyHillsGirl · 28/11/2020 09:56

This all took me 5 mins yesterday by the way, nothing more. I have it down to a very quick and fine art Grin

MrsMariaReynolds · 28/11/2020 09:59

Waiting for the water pressure to be restored so I can fill some buckets and get on with my Saturday cleaning and secretly hoping it won't be restored so I can sit on the sofa a bit longer

At some point today, we'll pull out the Christmas decorations and tree and put all that up. Dinner tonight is finishing off our Thanksgiving Day leftovers from Thursday (Yes, we're American) Yum. Love a roast dinner without all the prep.

GreenPlum · 28/11/2020 09:59

**It will have to be short.....

(Wishing we could edit posts!)

NancysDream · 28/11/2020 10:02

Tidying, cleaning, laundry. Hoping to get the house in a fit state to decorate! I really don't want to put the Christmas stuff up until the house is in order.

IdblowJonSnow · 28/11/2020 10:10

Not much! All jobs are done. Xmas decs are not going up yet, maybe a few next weekend.

Maybe mtg a friend for walk. I'm still in bed. Blush

Therealjudgejudy · 28/11/2020 10:13

Currently drinking coffee...murder she wrote on in the background.

Will be going to the parents later as I do every Saturday for dinner and will also go for a walk at some point. Also want to pop to the chemist to buy a retinol cream I've been meaning to get. Happy Saturday Smile

JMAngel1 · 28/11/2020 10:20

Just watched Christmas Chronicles 2 snuggled on sofa with DDs - I may have had a little secret sniffleGrin
Done 2 loads of laundry and summoning up energy to instigate homework but DDs are having a fab time on a group chat so I'll leave them a while longer.
Then got to shop and deliver food to my mum and dad - will be a brief hello at gate but they love to see DDs if only from a distance.
Then meeting up for a walk with a friend and her two DDs ( there will be Costa Grin).
Home around 3ish as DH should be home from work by then.
Then Pizza and movie night - no wine though as Dry November [😒
Planning a pamper later - got sent some Aromatherapy Associates bath oil so looking forward to that. May do fake tan/nails if I have the energy.

Hopespring · 28/11/2020 10:21

Morning all. I am going to be pet shop. My dog has no recall whatsoever and I am giving in with the training and buying a long long recall lead, after another embarrassing incident in the park Smile

InglouriousBasterd · 28/11/2020 10:21

Ahhh I love your threads @lucysmam Grin

I’m lolling about drinking coffee and listening to the radio since Sainsbury’s delivered my food shop early. DD is searching for Christmas present ideas online in anticipation of late night shopping on Thursday! We’re going into town later to look at the Christmas lights then dinner and strictly.

thebear1 · 28/11/2020 10:22

Taking youngest ds to a park this morning. Hope to split childcare duties with dh this afternoon so I can fit in an afternoon nap. Tea is meatball subs. Around that there will be washing, cleaning and a pop to Aldi.

3kidsareenough · 28/11/2020 10:34

Love these type of threads too and like that GreenPlum they make me feel emotional too for some reason.

Dh mad us all pancakes and me & Dd 1 (15) are going to the shops to get a present from her to dd2 who will be 12 tomorrow. Meeting a friend then in the evening for a walk as her beautiful dog passed away during the week and she's so upset. Dinner is tacos and I will have a little glass of Winewhile catching up on some shows I've recorded and then I'll be finishing A Christmas Carol in bed GrinGrin have a lovely day mumsnettersWink
