A corkscrew perm c1988. With a fringe.

LaurieFairyCake · 25/11/2020 00:44

Padded jumper with kittens on the front - plus it was reversible

Acid wash jeans, a red beret, luminous yellow shirt, luminous orange coat - you could see me from SPACE

The 80's 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

boredinthouse · 25/11/2020 00:47

A massive bright yellow fleece that I wore while I was in sixth form. I should have been old enough to know how awful it looked but I loved it!

Forgot to say, that was around 2000

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 25/11/2020 00:51

They way I scraped my hair back into a ponytail for a goodb2 years when I was about 11-13, then the blonde and red streaks I got through the top of my hair, and when I say streaks I mean the were streaks, not little highlights.

StillMedusa · 25/11/2020 00:53

I was a teenager in the 80s... so everything Grin
I do remember going to the Ester Sunday service with my mum and best friend ( we were church goers) and Mum commenting that we were both more lurid than the Bishop. I seem to recall wearing dayglo pink and yellow leg warmers and a batwing sweatshirt in neon green....

StillMedusa · 25/11/2020 00:54

Oh and the Linda Lucardi perm circ 1986....

chuffedasbuttons · 25/11/2020 00:55

Ha ha ha

When I worked in fashion- if no one talked to you on any particular day, it was because your outfit was shit

Grin

Too many fashion crimes to mention in the 1980s. Had a good time while dressed very badly though Grin

User258544 · 25/11/2020 01:05

Shaggy bob in the 90s. Looked good on Winona Ryder for 5 minutes.

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 25/11/2020 07:01

A flared wool skirt with cute little pixie ankle boots,

I looked like a gnome standing under a mushroom.

Drummachinesandlandslides · 25/11/2020 09:04

Laceless slip on Converse a few years ago. Just looked like I'd lost the laces!
Around 2008/9 I went through a phase of wearing every 'going out' dress with a belt. Looking back now, I'd ruined the line and look of nearly all of them! Grin

Cheesypea · 25/11/2020 09:10

Back combing my hair (80's) also in the 80s wearing a mini circular skirt which blew up marlin monroe style- much to the delight of some nearby workmen who were in a ditch and had a full view- mortified!

isseywith4vampirecats · 25/11/2020 10:35

1980s bought what i thought was a fabulous pale blue bubble skirt suit wore it to somewhere we were going with the kids (daughters may queen do) and my oldest son said mom dont wear that again it looks horrible and i never did it looked weird on

IsFinnRogersDead · 25/11/2020 10:45

I had a poodle perm, a bright yellow sweatshirt with embossed cats on it from the market (with matching yellow trousers), a double breasted light blue stonewashed denim jacket, tartan knickerbockers, I used to puff up the front quadrant of my hair and secure it with a comb, I used enough Bristows hairspray to create my own hole in the ozone layer, there were odd fluorescent socks at some point as well.

The 1980s were classic Grin

PuppyMonkey · 25/11/2020 10:49

I had a mullet most of my time as a student 1985-9.

Also had one of those burgundy ski jumper jumpers from circa 1980.

They were both pretty unforgivable.

EscapeTheCastle · 25/11/2020 10:49

I was strangely dressed for a nice wedding. I had totally lost my confidence in many areas of my life. I looked ok ish but I just got it wrong. I even got my hair wrong. I look at the photos and just feel sad looking at them. Couple divorced soon after so it's not like the guest photos will be studied.

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 25/11/2020 10:53

80s, trouser suit with pastel green, blue. Yellow, pink stripes. I wore it to a siblings wedding. I also wore it to a Julian Clary gig, sat near the front, and got the piss ripped out of me (in his lovely gentle way) for looking like a deck chair.

sunshineandshowers21 · 25/11/2020 10:55

in the mid 2000s aged 14 my go to ‘going out’ outfit was a tiny white denim mini skirt, a neon pink vest, neon pink leg warmers, and a pair of primark ballet pumps. with glittery pink eyeliner, side ponytail, and massive hoops. i used to wear this every tuesday to a roller disco and i thought i looked the bomb! (my boyfriend clearly liked it though, he told me he liked my leg warmers and we’ve been together ever since!)

Purplecatshopaholic · 25/11/2020 11:01

Pretty much everything I wore in the 80s...

ImaSababa · 25/11/2020 11:07

Early 90s, a jersey with a row of cats on the front, front view. On the back, same row of cats, from behind. Basically a row of cat arseholes.

LuckyAmy1986 · 25/11/2020 11:14

Knee high baby pink suede boots, thought I looked great in them

3rdNamechange · 25/11/2020 11:14

I LOVED my ski jumper 😂

@LaurieFairyCake

Padded jumper with kittens on the front - plus it was reversible

I just wondered... when your jumper was reversed did you see the rear end of the kittens? Confused

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 25/11/2020 11:48

I've just noticed that @ImaSababa has answered my question!
