In the height of my 90s rave days I had a white crochet mini skirt and crop top - yes you read that right, I left the house wearing what was effectively a couple of crochet doilies and underneath to "cover my modesty" was a thong and push up wonderbra Confused

For some odd reason I frequently have to fix an outfit that, once put together on me, has gone down the road of highland dancer or quirky golfer. I'm neither. I don't know why I lean this way.

Black shellsuit with brown lace up shoes ( my parents didn't believe in trainers back then)

Oh God, some absolute horrors!

Worst mishap which springs to mind was when I was young and foolish, I spent close to £200 on the UGLIEST dress. It was horrific and it didn't really fit. I bought it in a fancy boutique near where I worked and I couldn't return it as it was in the sale....yes, that was sale price. It was for a big event. It was block colours, bright pink and purple, with a long skirt with a bit of a train and a pink and purple bow on the bum Blush. I didn't wear it to the event in the end and actually wore something someone gave me for free and looked about a million times better. I ended up donating the expensive dress to charity. Maybe someone else got some use out of it. It may have looked ok on someone else.

Green jeans. I wore them a few times before seeing a photo and realising they made my legs look SO short.

Some of these are brilliant esp 80s trouser suit and mushroom gnome.

Just remembered.

A pair of glasses that had a whoosh at either side.

First day at secondary school.

Potential new friend: "Do you know who Dame Edna Everidge is?" Grin.

Yes I am channelling her. Obvs not what I said. I just said no and quietly waited and chose a boring pair of glasses next time I needed a new pair.

On another note, things I want to wear again but shouldn't: hypercolour tshirts 😂. The ones that changed colour with heat.

I was in 6th form in the early noughties and wore those khaki/cargo trousers that had strips of fabric coming off them. They used to drag on the floor and go in puddles Confused

Another wearer of a white doily dress in the 90s, which I thought looked nice on Gina G at the time....except that as soon as you go into a club the neon lights light up your underwear Blush

ilovespinach · 27/11/2020 16:46

Just remembered the trousers that had a skirt but on the front....

malhurst · 27/11/2020 16:48

The pastel pink dungarees with matching plaid shirt I wore to my first high school disco. Thirty years on I still regret that outfit.

I was a noughties teen. Trousers with a skirt attached, low rise flared jeans, I had a baby blue velour tracksuit (trying to look like Jennifer Lopez), skinny overplucked eyebrows, chunky blonde highlights, leggings worn with shorts and big chunky belts. Dreadful.
