How much tea/coffee do you drink?

Inspired by another thread, how many cups a day do you drink? I can't function without my early morning tea, I then have maybe another 2/3 cups a day and maybe 1 very strong coffee, but it's only that first cup of the day which is essential

Depends. I love tea.
Today I had 2 but sometimes I don't get a chance to have one at all! Grin

Impatientwino · 24/11/2020 22:46

3 teas and 1 cappuccino usually! Would love a warm cup of decaf tea now but it's too cold to get out of bed and make one!

Mycircusmymonkey · 24/11/2020 22:46

Used to have about 8 cups of coffee a day but have managed to get it down to 3. I’m not sure how my body coped before I must have been buzzing!

2 or 3 cups of coffee a day, usually two in the morning, one in the afternoon.

Always filter or black americano.

I drink the odd cup of tea, less than once a week if I'm left to my own devices, but often when we have guests who drink it (which is never because: lockdown).

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 24/11/2020 22:47

I have lots. I wfh and find it's the perfect excuse to stretch my legs from sitting at my desk all day.

Wake up- dh and I have a cuppa in bed
8.45am after the school run, cuppa and the news before logging on
11.30am after working since 9.
12.30pm I make one after lunch and take it back to my desk
2pm my pre school run one to warm me through before the walk
4pm I stop working at my desk and help the dc with homework have a brew at the same time
6pm we watch last night's I'm a Celeb and I have a brew

All tea. I notoriously never finish a cup as I don't like it having cooled.

If I have my thinking cap on, I make a thermal cup of tea which actually lasts me all morning and then again all afternoon, but I just seem to be on brew autopilot.

PurpleDaisies · 24/11/2020 22:48

About four cups of coffee a day, some decaf. Plus one or two peppermint teas.

haircutsRus · 24/11/2020 22:51

Tea first thing, then probably 2-3 coffees throught the morning. After lunch I switch back to tea, probably 2-3 cups, after dinner back to coffee again (decaf in the evenings or I can't sleep). 1 sometimes 2. Occasionally a Horlicks or a glass of milk before bed.

So about 8-9 altogether, some of which are decaf.

badlydrawnbear · 24/11/2020 22:52

I don't really like tea and hate coffee, but, if I am not at work, I have a tea first thing in the morning, preferably in peace and quiet before everyone else gets up, and usually another after lunch with chocolate hobnobs dipped in it. On work days I get up at 6am and leave the house before 6.30am so don't have time for boiling hot drinks. We don't usually have time for drinks during the 13hr shift except water but do occasionally have a tea at some point.

poshredrose · 25/11/2020 07:26

3 cups of coffee a day. The first one as soon as I get up at 6am, the last one made around 2pm. I don't like tea so switch to water in the afternoon/evening.
Dd is getting a coffee machine for Christmas, I'm already eyeing up pods to try

User258544 · 25/11/2020 07:44

I cut it down to 1 cup at 9am. Hell will prevail before I give up that cup Grin. Agree all the others are non essential. Cut down gradually. I drink decaff green tea the rest of the time as it has L theanine which helps me feel calm and clear headed.

Teaandchocolatedigestives · 25/11/2020 07:55

One cup of coffee when I first wake up, cup of tea with breakfast.
Then I usually drink another 2-3 cups of tea throughout the day. Only have coffee later in the day from a cafe (which is rare) or if I'm desperately tired (like today).

TwoZeroTwoZero · 25/11/2020 07:59

Depends on whether I'm working or not. If I'm working I take a flask of choc & mint tea to have with my lunch but otherwise have nothing until I get home when I might have one or two cups (pint mug but I usually only ever drink half of it). If I'm home all day then we make a pot of tea 3 or 4 times and just keep refilling our cups throughout the day.

orangejuicer · 25/11/2020 08:02

Usually tea with breakfast, coffee about 9am to go up to work in the spare room. Then one or two refills later in the day of either or if I'm feeling I need it, hot chocolate - which is what I'm just about to make Grin

Clevs · 25/11/2020 08:19

None!

skippy67 · 25/11/2020 08:34

None. They're both horrible.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 25/11/2020 10:00

A minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 teas depending on my mood. No coffee as I don't like it

BoudiccaD · 25/11/2020 10:03

I have a tea as soon as I get up. Maybe one more in the afternoon. This may increase now it's getting colder.

ShakeitDown · 25/11/2020 10:03

I usually have 3 - 4 cups of decaf coffee per day. Plus an occasional apple tea.

HeronLanyon · 25/11/2020 10:07

3 cups drip filter coffee in the early am. Then no tea or coffee at all.
Was just discussing this with a sibling who drinks tea all day and lots of it.

pinkpetal2 · 25/11/2020 10:09

About 7 cups of tea a day maybe one vanilla latte too. I only drink tea or coffee. No other drinks.

meow1989 · 25/11/2020 10:09

If dh has put some coffee on the night before: one coffee.

Roughly 7 cups of tea a day...

KittenCalledBob · 25/11/2020 10:10

1 or 2 cups of coffee a day.
I'm not a tea drinker. Occasionally a mint tea.

FjorGynAndHotWater · 25/11/2020 10:10

At least 8 mugs of Yorkshire tea every day. Can't drink even one coffee any more as it sends me wappy but can drink buckets of tea no bother.

S111n20 · 25/11/2020 10:27

4/5 cups of coffee. Unless I’m at my mums where the kettle is constantly boiling.

LuckyAmy1986 · 25/11/2020 10:28

I was drinking 3 cups a day until I started calorie counting, and now the semi skimmed milk for 3 cups a day just eats way too many calories, so it's just the one first thing!
