Insomnia attack. Been up for 22 hours solid and don't feel remotely ready for bed.

Isn't that always the way, tired during the day but then wide awake when it's sleep time? Confused
fairydustandpixies · 21/11/2020 05:07

I wish I did get tired during the day, because I'd probably manage the odd nap here and there. My problem has been a life long inability to cope with a 24 hour day. I could easily function on a 36 hour schedule. Awake for 24, sleep for 12, repeat. Because I don't actually have sleep problems, in the sense that once I'm out I sleep quite satisfactorily, NHS is completely uninterested in it as an issue. My mother is exactly the same, and I believe my brother is too.

I am awake as I often am these nights. Ever since I discovered my DH cheated on me. Overthinking everything and so unhappy.

Magicsprinkles · 21/11/2020 05:21

That’s awful. Poor you. You are worth more tho! I’m awake , guzzled too much wine due to stress. It doesn’t help!

I'm a chronic over thinker too. Sorry about your dh Thanks
MotherExtraordinaire · 21/11/2020 05:28

I've been awake the last hour. My lo is snoring in my bed. Heating clanking away which means I assume it's brrrr cold....

Aw, a betrayal is so awful. Hope it is sorted out.

Ive just had spaghetti with pesto, oil and butter, olive oil, asparagus and tuna. It was nice.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 21/11/2020 05:34

Cupboards were rather bare the other day, and wondering what to rustle up for myself, I contemplated a Tuna omelette. I was very swiftly informed by SO that this is not, under any circumstances, a thing, and that I am a complete and utter deviant who probably needs locking up for even giving the idea a moment's thought. Blush

spidermomma · 21/11/2020 05:34

I'm awake. Got tonsillitis and their touching and I'm in agony !! Just want to cry. Got 2 dc in bed with me snoring away, I'm jealous of them !! X

LadyCatStark · 21/11/2020 05:34

Yes. Not through choice. The wind is constantly banging something on the side of the house again and it woke me up at 4:40 so it’s been nearly and hour now. I have no idea what it is but it’s happened the last 4 nights out of 6 and I can’t cope with it any longer. When it happens before I go to sleep, I take a piriton but if I take one now, I’ll be drowsy all day. Honestly, it’s pure torture! The one day I can have a lie in and I’ve been up since 4:40 😡

JontyDoggle37 · 21/11/2020 05:36

@StillfunnyFlowers
@Frownette I was with you until you said tuna. Tuna at 5am???
I’m awake, dog woke me up at 3 ( I stupidly let him stay on our bed last night(. Sent him downstairs, so he climbed in DS’s bed and pushed him out of bed, DA fell on the floor and hurt himself so is now in bed with us 🙄😂

JontyDoggle37 · 21/11/2020 05:37

Ds, not DA

Devoilmum · 21/11/2020 05:41

I can’t sleep again. Have been awake since 1.30. Woke at 3am yesterday. I can’t go on. My mind is racing and I just can’t get past 4 hours sleep. Even less last night.
I spend the day trying to stay awake and the night trying to sleep.

Devoilmum · 21/11/2020 05:44

@Stillfunny same here. I’m so tired but everything is just whirring around, sleep is impossible

marriednotdead · 21/11/2020 05:45

DP got up at 4am for work and I always wake up. Usually takes an hour or two to get back to sleep. At least I can lay in although I won’t feel any more rested, fibromyalgia is the gift that keeps giving...

I am sorry OP. I can still very vividly remember these long thinking nights. I used to have stripes on my curtains and each night I'd spend all night counting the stripes. Sending strength to get through this.
