EggyCat1 is still loving her hammock and is grateful to Sodding for illustrating how comfortable it is.

The surveyor man was not complimentary about our house and also felt the need to comment on the tumbledown shed that was here when we moved in and has little to do with the overall valuation of the house.

I'm loving the cat hammocks. We alas have no radiators, otherwise I can see DDog3 ChampagneCat being a happy convert.

In other news, DM thinks it's unwise to visit at Christmas as she would need to travel by train. As she's spent the last two lockdowns visiting at least one different supermarket everyday, this is a surprising display of common sense. She then went on to say that she's already received 3 invites to Christmas dinner, so perhaps she's had a better offer?! Grin

Frownette · 23/11/2020 18:17

@Champagneforeveryone oh they get up to all sorts of mischief...! Just when you think they're settling down to songs of praise, but they're galivanting around.

I received my new gold spray can today but it looks a bit complicated to open, I don't want to do my face by mistake

PersisFord · 23/11/2020 18:26

This is all quite excellent. I am particularly enjoying the high vis men updates.

I might have soup for supper. Made a lasagna yesterday for today but my trousers are feeling a little snug! Am quite keen also to go for a run but it is frosty and my trainers are made for indoor use and aren’t very grippy. I might do a YouTube workout video instead.

soddingkitten · 23/11/2020 18:37

DH had an entirely gratuitous day off, so I’ve delegated making dinner to him. I am working on to finish something (damned home working), but grabbed a small bowl of Doritos and a G&T when I went to check on progress half an hour ago. My motivation has dulled with each sip. 😩

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 23/11/2020 18:49

DDog needed a very urgent trip out to the garden this afternoon, almost certainly because he somehow manage to snaffle an entire 12" pizza off the kitchen table on Saturday night. Shock I think the assault on his digestive system was probably punishment enough as it had both jalapeños and fresh chilis.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 23/11/2020 18:51

DH wanted to do a work zoom, but his mate had a blue screen event. He just changed back into comfy clothes.

I am watching a 'Baumgartner restoration' video - calming and educational. I also ate a mama yam soup with additional pepper.

Boredsilly · 23/11/2020 18:57

Had to scrape my car this morning first time this year, lovely sunny morning though. Took Gus our dog for a walk at lunchtime, normally we have to park to ourselves but there was quite a few other dog walkers there today, think he was a bit put out by this! Looking forward to a lazy evening on the sofa watching tv, DH is making dinner DD watching her tablet

EggyPegg · 23/11/2020 18:58

I also enjoyed the hi-vis updates.

My dishwasher tabs were stuck together so I just threw them in together.

EggyPegg · 23/11/2020 19:00

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar, that really made me laugh. I assume he's regretting his life choices about now.

soddingkitten · 23/11/2020 19:01

Sodding just started drinking out of my water glass. 🤢

soddingkitten · 23/11/2020 19:01

The price of eating my tiramisu in peace. 🙄

Frownette · 23/11/2020 19:05

I managed to get into my gold metallic spray can but the smell takes me back to childhood and I can't isolate what it is - glue? Petrol stations? I may have to try it out on someone and see if they can tell. It's quite pleasing in a funny sort of way.

I'll post pic of chair when I've spritzed it.

I've been asked to do a short vid of my house when I get back, think I'll tidy up surface mess first then reenact entering

Frokni · 23/11/2020 19:11

Went to B&Q to get new roof stuff for the shed (black tarpy thing) as it blew off in the wind. Couldn't find it or a staff member as there had clearly been a massive leak as there was water all over the entrance.

Bought gutter clips for outdoor lights and paint for a lovely wooden coffee table which the kids turned into the art table Hmm

Sorted mums homemade advent calendar with help of kids. She is due to come tomorrow as it's 19 years since Dad passed.

Ate Persian rice and roast chicken for dinner and we have just completed decorating our house for Xmas. 2 weeks ahead of our usual schedule Grin

MissConductUS · 23/11/2020 19:12

@soddingkitten

Sodding just started drinking out of my water glass. 🤢
No, no, no.

It's his water glass, that he lets you use from time to time.

I wonder if my Dcat is still feeling stressed about the terrorist landscaper's visit yesterday. Hopefully, the vet visit later will rule out anything serious.

@Squirrel26 I’m now over-invested in these doors!

I’ve been for a run, it was great. Usual 5k but knocked a couple of minutes off and felt really strong. Almost all chores done so tempted to retreat to early bed with book.

MissConductUS · 23/11/2020 21:07

DH has just called after returning from the vet. Dcat seems okay. No weight loss, no abdominal pain or constipation. And she ate when he got her home. We'll have her blood panel results back in a day or two.

I have to go to bed early tonight and tomorrow as we hope to be on the road to Boston by 5:30 or so Wednesday morning and I'd like to do a quick run before we set off.

EggyCat1 also regularly drinks from water glasses. I have now replaced their drinking bowl with a plastic 1l jug from Wilko's, and both cats seem to prefer that.

The mini thermos I ordered from Amazon has arrived. It is very cute. DS1 wants to use it first and take warm pasta to school tomorrow. DS2 has requested that I make his favourite soup - butternut squash and sweet potato - so that he can take it on Wednesday. He has also requested croutons in a separate pot so that he can tip them in himself at lunchtime. So I guess I'm making soup tomorrow in preparation. Think I'll take some to work on Wednesday too.

Therainisback · 23/11/2020 21:11

Looking forward to 2 days' annual leave. I suspect I'll do a little running, a little cleaning, a lot of babysitting & a lot of sitting down with wine & Mumsnet

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 23/11/2020 21:12

DS has an English oral exam tomorrow, a group of three have to talk about things environmental (frakking, extinction rebellion, etc.). We'll see.

Therainisback · 23/11/2020 21:14

I do have a bowl of small flat pebbles, collected on holiday & 2 box frames. I was planning on creating some personalised pebble pictures for my daughters. Have they gone out of fashion?

Taswama · 23/11/2020 21:18

I decided to walk to work rather than cycle today and enjoyed listening to my audio book (half of a yellow sun).

SilkieRabbits · 23/11/2020 21:27

Silkiecat loves to drink tea, the minute your back is turned Silkiecat's head can be found in a cup of tea. It makes the cat a bit sick though she says she doesn't mind its worth it for tea. You just see the ears coming out of the cup.

Just had sticky ribs in BBQ sauce and spinach as DH insisted I needed a vegetable with it. Had a minced pie and mulled wine and now drinking coke.

DS came back from school today talking about Of Mice and Men, think its as there are lots of rabbits.

Trying to sort out all the surveys. DH keeps moving things to when we have another booking. Hmm He also booked one for 8am tomorrow an hour away (same time we had one here which I've had to cancel) and then he was oh I'll need to let them in so I'll need to go there and leave at 7am Shock No idea why it took him 12 hours to think of that. It's the time the kids leave for school as well and he's meant to be working from 8.30am. Still hopefully the electricity check will get done. Bit annoying though as we were supposed to get light fixed tomorrow here and that's not postponed tbc.

Frownette · 23/11/2020 21:32

I'm waiting for a taxi to next county. Very excited, I'll arrive 11pm but then I'll have a few days absolute luxury by the sea

WantChewbaccaForGood · 23/11/2020 21:40

I am wearing my fluffy socks with a cute fox on them.
