how do you cut your sandwiches?

I've just been introduced the concept of cutting sandwiches in a RANDOM PATTERN.

not in half or quarters.... nope. Just cut random angles, and end up with about 5-7 pieces of various shapes.

it's changed my life...

I clearly need to get out more

For what purpose would you cut them in a random pattern?

I cut mine in diagonals and end up with 4 triangles... like a normal person.

EatPrayYoga · 16/11/2020 13:34

I cut in half longways if it's something like bacon and sometimes I cut across the other way into 2. If tuna or something that will fall out I cut into triangles or squares.

kids cut into four squares maybe.

I cut straight across in half, then turn the top piece of bread so there is a crust each side...

...wut? Confused

God the idea of cutting them at random is making my teeth itch!! But I’m the kind of woman who alphabetises her spice rack, so...

Two triangles. Always.

Ornamentalcabbages · 16/11/2020 13:42

Regular sandwich is cut straight across the middle (side to side) so I end up with two rectangles.

If I'm feeling fancy, it's diagonally, so have two triangles 😂😂

yellowhighheels · 16/11/2020 13:43

always horizontal, I hate diagonal butties. Liking this idea of random bits for a change! When I help with friends' kids parties, I sometimes use animal cutters and eat the trimmings

CherryPavlova · 16/11/2020 13:45

With a knife generally

sunflowershine · 16/11/2020 13:47

Two triangles, always unless it's bacon then it's four squares.

No, I don't know why!

00100001 · 16/11/2020 13:48

never had animal shape ones.... might try that!

If sliced bread, 4 triangles, obviously, there is no other way.

Breadcake/bap it gets sliced in half.

I might ask...what esle do you cut it with, if you "generally use a knife"? Grin

For fun?! You need a hobby 😂

Samanabanana · 16/11/2020 13:54

I cut sandwiches in to two triangles. Any other way is wrong Grin

Sojo88 · 16/11/2020 13:56

I'm actually quite intrigued to try the random way now! Grin

CoronaBollox · 16/11/2020 13:57

I like to live on the wild side too OP.

I purposely do it front of DP as he is a rigid diagonal cutter. I like to do it straight down the middle of the sandwich. So like two long strips of rebellion.

grassisjeweled · 16/11/2020 13:58

Lockdown getting to you, op?

multivac · 16/11/2020 13:59

When I make my sons' lunchbox sandwiches (yes, they could do their own; I like doing it, it's a little pleasure that started during lockdown now I don't have to leave the house in the morning, so shoot me...), I cut them into oblongs, for ease of packing - but with two passes of the knife rather than one, leaving me with a thin sandwich sliver from the middle to steal. I've done that for years.
