Anyone else have a shitty day / week? Feel free to vent here.

6 weeks ago I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks pregnant. Our 18th miscarriage..

Yesterday on a family zoom call his brother announced that they were pregnant. No heads up or anything. They know about our struggles. I'm happy for them I just feel a bit blind sided. A little heads up would have been nice.

Yeah it's a mess really. But we got Accepted for ivf recently Which is amazing I just feel that if it was the other way round I'd have made sure DH gave them
A heads or not done it by fucking zoom.

I'm sorry they were so thoughtless

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 15/11/2020 19:25

Flowers They could have been so much more considered about it. So sorry

Brenna24 · 15/11/2020 19:28

I am so sorry. Recurrent miscarriage sufferer here. It is so hard taking that punch to the guts in public and keeping a positive face on you while you rearrange your brain to say the relevant things. I really hope that the IVF works for you.

NoNeedToArgue · 15/11/2020 19:29

Good lord, that is tough. I am so sorry for everything you have been through. They clearly have no idea what it's like... lucky them x

MyGazeboisLeaking · 15/11/2020 19:31

That is really, really, REALLY unfair and thoughtless of them - no wonder you were knocked sideways.

I'm so sorry for your losses.

Best of everything for your IVF 🥰

Bumbers · 15/11/2020 19:33

FlowersFlowersFlowers

I cant believe they were so thoughtless.

Wishing you every success with your IVF.

bearlyactive · 15/11/2020 19:33

Oh my goodness, you poor thing OP, how insensitive of them Flowers

suziedoozy · 15/11/2020 19:34

I am so sorry - what an unthinking and unkind thing to do.

I had a similar experience after about 11 miscarriages when my sister set up a family pub lunch and announced it (they had only been trying for a couple of months). I still remember how awful it was an trying to remain calm and it was almost 8 years ago.

Congratulations on the IVF - I really really hope it works for you Flowers

Shieldingending · 15/11/2020 19:39

How thoughtless of them, sending you love and strength Thanks

Morechocmorechoc · 15/11/2020 19:39

So sorry that sounds awful. I'm sure they just didn't think as when you haven't been through it you don't get it.

So glad you get a chance through IVF, all thr best to you.

FMyUterus · 15/11/2020 19:43

I think it's worse it's his twin brother and knows exactly how hard it's been for us. I've only been back at work for 2 weeks. We'll get over this but it just feels so salty right now.

Thank you for all the lovely comments

OP posts:
UnaCorda · 15/11/2020 19:43

Really thoughtless. People can be so selfish.

userxx · 15/11/2020 19:51

Yep, that's pretty fucking shitty. This whole year can get in the bin 😡

Literaryseed · 15/11/2020 19:52

Oh OP I'm so sorry for your losses. It's not fair at all. I've had 3 and whilst I can't profess to understand what it's like to have 18, I do understand that sinking pit of your stomach feeling when someone else announces a pregnancy. I'm sorry your family weren't more understanding.

FMyUterus · 15/11/2020 20:59

Thank you x

legallybland · 15/11/2020 21:25

Aw that's crap OP I'm sorry, I had my colleague happily waving scan pictures around a few weeks after mine and I had to go and have a secret cry in the staff loos. Some people just don't understand (or think).

strength and love to you Flowers

FMyUterus · 15/11/2020 22:09

@legallybland thank you

FMyUterus · 15/11/2020 22:59

It just surprised me. Does make this a shitty person

OP posts:
FMyUterus · 16/11/2020 13:24

They've said I acted like a spoilt brat because I got up and left after I said congratulations. So they announced it during a conversation about decorating we'd done. I said congratulations and then got up to 'make tea' ie cry into a packet of sausages call my mum and vent. I was probably away from the screen for 6 mins. I came back and said congratulations again.

Maybe I shouldn't have left but I couldn't just sit there

OP posts:
AhoyMeFarties · 16/11/2020 13:32

Of course you're not a shitty person
That was completely thoughtless of them
I'm sorry for your losses Flowers
