Just for fun occasionally

I do 😉

OP posts:

You mean stick your tongue out?

And no, I don't.

CastleOfDoom · 15/11/2020 11:57

No, why would you? Confused

SunshineOnATrainToday · 15/11/2020 11:59

Do you put your hand inside your mask and pull your tongue? I don't understand why you would do this.

IhateBoswell · 15/11/2020 11:59

I don’t, no. Did you always get the urge to do it when you were unmasked or something? 😂

WutheredOut · 15/11/2020 12:01

God yes!

Al1langdownthecleghole · 15/11/2020 12:01

Absolutely. It's the only upside.

It makes me feel better when people are rude.

Bluntness100 · 15/11/2020 12:01

No.

Callcat · 15/11/2020 12:02

I don't, but I do mouth swear words at people's dick behaviour and also mouth sing songs 😆

satnighttakeaway · 15/11/2020 12:05

How do you pull it? By putting your hand inside your mask?

No, of course not, why would anyone do that?

Etihad · 15/11/2020 12:15

Yep. And I silently mutter things I wouldn’t usually say. It’s one of the best bits of all this virus and I will miss wearing a mask when it’s over.

I’m pretty sure OP meant STICK their tongue out rather than PULL, which may be the reason for some of the incredulous replies

Really? That's a he'll of anautocorrect Grin

Still no because I'm not 4 years old

That really made me laugh
EminyBOO · 15/11/2020 12:20

Come on, those going on about pulling your tongue with your hand, you know exactly what the op meant!

I don’t, but I always forget I’m wearing it otherwise I would. Unfortunately people can still see my eye roll Grin

As a side note, I don’t think I realised how much I used a smile as a form of communication before. To say thank you, hello, or whatever. When I realise that they can’t see it, it’s often too late and I walk off worrying I have looked rude!

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 15/11/2020 12:21

no - why risk a soggy mask?
I do silently mouth "fuck you" a fair bit though .

AlwaysLatte · 15/11/2020 12:21

People are so pedantic on here!
No, but I might now (starting with a few MN pedants)
😛

Jigglypuffler · 15/11/2020 12:22

No. But I definitely mutter sweary passive aggressive comments to total strangers far more than I need to... I'm hoping I don't carry that on as a habit when (if?) masks in shops are no longer a thing! 😂

notacooldad · 15/11/2020 12:22

Don't be silly.
Its a figure of speech. Some people say ' pull your tongue out others say 'stick your tongue out
Surely you knew that or could have worked it out.
Anyway. No i don't do that and haven't stuck my tongue out since I was a small child.

ShowOfHands · 15/11/2020 12:26

I have noticed people being ruder whilst wearing masks. You can still hear muttering and see the accompanying eye roll whilst wearing a mask you realise. It's hard that we are all having to slow down, wait a bit longer, keep our distance but the nastiness I've seen recently is unpleasant.

Bit like people in cars who swear/gesticulate because they're in a protective bubble.

I've genuinely never heard that and it makes no sense as an alternative to stick your tongue out

I've even just googled it to see if I've missed a saying whole life and it's not coming up for me as an alternative phrase.

Is it a very regional thing?

Witchend · 15/11/2020 12:38

Ds tells me he does at school. He also likes being able to yawn in lessons.

SunshineOnATrainToday · 15/11/2020 12:48

No. I've never heard sticking your tongue out referred to as pulling your tongue out. It makes no sense. Maybe it is a regional thing and I just wasn't aware.

Nicolastuffedone · 15/11/2020 12:49

No, never.....but then I’m an adult

merryhouse · 15/11/2020 12:52

"put" your tongue out makes more sense (though "stick" is what I would always use: it goes with the concept better). Maybe OP has just always misheard?

I don't do that, but I have frequently yawned hugely Grin

myhobbyisouting · 15/11/2020 12:54

No

Spied · 15/11/2020 12:56

No but for some reason when I have my mask on I subconsciously open my mouth very wide and keep it open, almost like I'm at the dentist. It's strange.
