How’s Your Saturday Night?

Chilling out nicely. Work was bonkers (definitely doesn’t feel like lockdown!) so I was glad to get home, although I popped out again after lunch to get hay & straw for the bunnies. Also went to Co- Op & Asda. Too tired to cook cottage pie, which unfortunately means wasting the mince as it was defrosted yesterday. We’re having ASDA curries instead. DD11 emerged for pizza & when I tried to engage her in conversation, she told me that talking to people makes her anxious Confused We hardly see her these days. I miss my girly. It seems like she hates us. All we can do is be here for her & let her know we always have her back. DH is decorating her room so hopefully she will be enthusiastic about choosing new curtains, duvet cover etc.
DH signed up for Netflix last night & is already excited by all the choices. Think we’re going to watch The Crown from the beginning. Any recommendations welcome. I’m enjoying a nice glass of Co - Op Viognier. Putting off settling the rabbits for the night. Our garden is like a bog!

Cook the mince in a frying pan tomorrow. Drain off the fat, discard, allow the mince to cool then refreeze it. You can then thaw and heat it ONCE MORE only.

To answer your question, it's hardly started. I've just had a quick and tasty bite to eat. Music in the background includes Jilted John and the Joe 90 theme. I'll have a bottle of ale later and see if there's anything on the television. Fat chance.

Squirrelblanket · 14/11/2020 18:53

We've had beef wellingtons for dinner and a bottle of red wine. Just settling down to season 3 of Goliath on Amazon Prime and then probably an early night as we're both starting with colds!

sittingonacornflake · 14/11/2020 19:07

Oooh I'm about to crack open a bottle of wine and watch the final episode of roadkill on iplayer.

ForTheLoveOfCatFood · 14/11/2020 19:13

Queens Gambit is excellent

Reiningitin · 14/11/2020 19:25

I'm really bored. Two teenage ds upstairs. I have wine to dull the boredom. Watching Dinner Date.

AgnesNaismith · 14/11/2020 19:27

Home made pizzas, strictly and wine here! I love trash tv on a Saturday night. Genuinely can’t wait for the absolute shit that is ‘the wall’ with Danny Dyer.

NightOwl19 · 14/11/2020 19:34

We ordered an Indian which 2 hours later hasn't turned up so rush dinner for the kids. One is poorly so going to be another long night. Fire works are going off everyone so the dogs are freaking out Sad

Holothane · 14/11/2020 19:36

Dh has some sport on I’m chilling with iPad will move to bedroom soon read and watch dvds or blu rays. Saturday night tv is crap.

Sparklingbrook · 14/11/2020 19:36

Busy day at work.

Now on sofa in dressing gown. Have cried at the McFly Documentary and now tutting at SCD as is tradition on a Saturday night.

Serena1977 · 14/11/2020 19:41

Dh is cooking a new recipe for supper. Just put the heating on. Watching strictly. DC are in their bedrooms. Bit of a boring day helping DC with homework and hanging about at home.

MrsGrindah · 14/11/2020 19:48

DH and I drinking red wine and laid out in our respective sofas watching The King of Staten Island. We have had a lovely lockdown day..cleaning, little trip into town, baking. I’ve had a chat with my sister. I feel safe and loved and counting my blessings.

MysweetAudrina · 14/11/2020 19:57

Got up did a yoga class, then met dd's friend and his dm for a good walk. Came home fell asleep and then went shopping. Dh cooking a steak for me now and just going to watch whatever shite is on the telly.

EternalOptimist7 · 14/11/2020 20:05

Fireworks? Seriously? I guess they could be for Divali (sp). We’re in Cornwall so very few Indian people here. I hate fireworks cos we have rabbits 🐰

I'm having a salted caramel Baileys while watching The Queens Gambit on Netflix

nancybotwinbloom · 14/11/2020 20:24

@quarentini

How do you make a salted caramel baileys?

Reiningitin · 14/11/2020 20:26

@nancybotwinbloom You buy a bottle of it!! It's a new flavour!

lucysmam · 14/11/2020 20:27

I'm a bit bored; debating some more crochet but can't decide what to make.

Dd1 is playing some game on her laptop that I can't remember the name of, with school friends (untouchables/inimitables?? I dunno but it's little coloured things & they vote someone out 🤷‍♀️)

Dd2's watching Stampy. I know this because his voice travels.

Justgivemewine · 14/11/2020 20:30

Dh made his delicious home pizzas so we are now munching those, and drinking cider while watching The lion, the witch and the wardrobe with ds3 while ds1&2 are being unsociable and glued to the xboxes upstairs.

bloodywhitecat · 14/11/2020 20:35

Biggest fosterling (just turned 1) had a video phone 'chat' with his new parents tonight, then me and him had the biggest of cuddles. In just a few weeks he will move to his forever home and take a huge chunk of our hearts with him.

Smallest fosterling has a stinky cold and wanted to go to bed early so I expect we will have company soon as he is a feed short today.

DP and I are chilling, trying to decide on Christmas presents for our adult kids while ignoring the fact this might be his last Christmas. We are also planning where to take the four legged, black beast for a walk tomorrow.

bengalcat · 14/11/2020 20:35

Great , red wine , duck pancakes and Strictly

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 14/11/2020 20:40

Day started well with a HIIT class on zoom which really set me up for the day

Was looking forward to a catch up with a friend via zoom tonight but she ditched me. Bit disappointed as DS is isolating after a positive case in his class so we’ve been stuck at home. That’s after a planned zoom call with other friend last night was cancelled as she’s ill.

Lonely, I’m feeling lonely

EternalOptimist7 · 14/11/2020 20:48

bloodywhitecat I am so sorry

Waiting for takeaway to arrive which is taking forever despite the restaurant being about 15 min away from us. DS & DSS playing something together on one of the devices. 2DD's, DH and I browsing netflix to find something suitable for all of us to watch. DH also having some wine which I envy as cannot have any. My neighbour's cat who is a regular visitor is trying to terrorise us but we have decided to ignore him.

BunTooti · 14/11/2020 20:55

@bloodywhitecat Flowers have a wonderful evening.

starrynight19 · 14/11/2020 20:56

Netflix is a good shout , it’s been brilliant in lockdown.
We actually coming to the end of a family isolation so it’s been well used.
